No worries, it's an easy mistake :) apart from the fact my avatar gives it away lol

I'll be in @32

Nothing to let on your were female out on the track... You weren't displaying your avtar on the back of your Vette - and it wasn't pink ;)

GTP N30NBLU3 [GB], why does this guy even have a GTP tag?

do you expect me to just let you overtake? blocking when in front is simply defensive driving. you are the one who should wait for me to a, make a mistake or b, out brake me into a corner not punt my back end.

Depends how much defending you are doing! if its excessive then you need to realize the guy behind is probably faster and would be long gone past you if you weren't blocking his every move you need to learn to concede the position.
You don't have to block as if your life depends on it .. that's not racing

I had a great night racing against many of you guys tonight and I would like most of you to know that the majority carry the GTP tag well and race in a gentlemanly fashion which is awesome and my regards to the majority

There is a very very small handful of rogue element but hardly worth mentioning so enough about them

I raced under my other PSN account tonight as Kingpin and had some fantastic battles with drivers I know from my Mr P account and they treated me with the same respect and it's always good to see everyone is treated as an equal by most of the GTP racers :) I can't name names or I would be here all night!

Thanks guys it was a blast
Ron.

Ron you crafty devil, you're KOR_Kingpin[US]?? You were bloody fast in that black vette!

All the best

Lmmfao, you actually tried to run me off the road like 4 times and you call that defensive driving? Then you send me a message saying "I cant let you take a slipstream" If you dont switch up ur driving style, the next time i meet you on the track its a WRAP.

i was in first place with 1 lap to go. i was quicker through the bends he was quicker on the straights and i wouldn't let him use my slip stream. if i was behind in 2nd i'd have had him through the bends not used him for my breaks. if he'd got up the side of me i'd let him pass but he didn't.

Great races last night Maz 👍 I will be back on to tonight with my disguise account also ... but don't tell anyone! :sly:

Cheers mate

More like a rolling road block to me, I lead the whole race, had an 8 second lead then decided to wait for you since it was a fellow GTP'er and it was boring upfront, and you come here with this crap?

Oh gawd I think I may have given you a little bump Mr P, but after 2/3 weeks without a drive I was bumping everyone a bit... tag or not :) Apologies if I ballsed up any of your races.

Regarding blocking, I do it the F1 way, only one blocking maneuvre allowed then if they get past after that then good on the other guy because he deserves the pass. Continually dodging and weaving to stop people passing is just not on in my book and that includes excessive weaving to stop dudes from getting a tow.

I'm all for making it as difficult as possible for the guy behind to get past but I'm afraid zigzagging down a straight to avoid an opponent drafting you demonstrates a complete lack of class imho. It's like wearing your underpants outside your trousers - it's just not done

Slipstreaming is part of the game and we all have this to deal with .. weaving around to block the drag is not sportsman racing, also it looks stupid when you see cars weaving all over the start straight to try and stop people getting some drag!

Whats up with just trading with each other as you race? he passes you due to drag and then you do the same etc .. It very easily makes both racers faster throughout the lap :)

If you're confident about passing on the bends, where's the problem? Let him pass on the straights, then have a good scrap through the turns. This is about racing, not necessarily about winning. 👍

Same here, mate!! 👍 ...adding that I quite rarely use my one move right... Only when just teasing a little.. :D ;)

that's all i was doing. but i'll make one thing clear now if i've got a lead i'll defend it. any car will go faster slipstreaming. real defensive driving is a skill and i don't defend erratically.

funny isnt it, since its my word against yours its whatever, but i dont think its good to try and block when my nose is already pass your tail, its more like trying to run me off the road, i wouldnt even make a big deal about it if you were just weaving but running me off the road not only once but 2wice is where is stops. I catch you on the track driving like that again, you will not enjoy the rest of the race.

EDIT: I'm trying to setup my PAL disc and for some reason my NTSC game save does not work, do i need a PAL game save or am i doing something wrong?

You got a PAL disc!? Maybe I'll blow the thick layer of dust off my PS3 and join you in some races! rFactor has taken over my online racing life.

Personally, I hardly ever drive defensively... if someone has the speed to pass me fair and square then they have the right to pass... but I will just adjust my line, try to carry more exit speed and hopefully pass them on the next straight or in to the next bend.

eg; In to 130R I might position myself slightly to the left - not far enough over to leave a gap on my right for a drafting opponent mind, but just enough to make my them compromise their entry speed... when they are alongside I'll slip back to the right, slow early, and try to maximise exit speed to re-pass them in to Casio.

Blocking or trying to break the draft is lame.

Thats a great tactic, use it myself in my elise and I know Timo does the exact same thing. Feels so good when the fast cars have blown past then you get them back in a fairly inconspicuous place where overtaking would not usually be expected. 👍 160mph through 130R in an elise is one of the major highlights of GT5:P for me.:)

That is absolutely mad...do you know your apex speeds through the esses and degners? I'd be really interested to know those :)

Best I've hit with the Viper is 153mph and with the Elise 158mph. Running lower downforce on the Viper now, so more usual apex speed is 148-150mph.

I've got Timo's Elise replay saved (from 'Suzuka 750 hotlap') and his Degner 1 apex speed was 120mph... a full 6mph faster than I can manage in the Viper.

Also, regarding the 130R tactic... had a lot of success going round the outside of people in to Casio too... though only really a last lap move as better normally to get back past them in to turn 1... and you really have to trust your opponent to attempt it!

Esses is usually between 90-105mph, and on a good run through Degners I hit 120mph before braking for the righthander prior to the bridge. Thats in the Elise '96 which handles more predictably for me at least. I may have a replay somewhere on the PS3 if you want a look.

Oh a disclaimer... 160mph at 130r is only when I hit it dead right which is seldom  But when it does hook up correct there is no feeling like it.

That's fascinating stuff Stotty and Maffski (bloody hell, saying those names together makes me feel I should be carrying 3 pints over to our pub table!)...in the Vette I'm currently getting...

Ess 1: 105 - 107 mph
Ess 2: 87 - 90 mph
Ess 3: 95 - 101 mph
Ess 4: 79 - 81 mph
Degner 1: 109 - 112 mph, if I manage to make 114mph stick it's a very special lap.
Degner 2: 72 mph, again on a very good take.
130R: Interesting, with setup 1 I get 72 mph Degner 2 and 147 130R, setup 2 gets me less at Degner 2 and around 151mph at 130R. Trying to figure out which gives the overall gain but the fact is what works better in the race does not translate to freerun.

All the best
