Mine's a pint of guiness please
Esses turn 1 is bit of a weird one - I never really checked my apex speeds in the esses to be honest as I more 'feel' my way through that section. However, I did find braking a bit earlier and then coasting for a bit on a trailing throttle before lighter braking in to the 2nd apex got me about a half a car length over going in hotter and braking later/harder.
But I'll sacrifice a bit of apex speed if it means I can get back on the power earlier and therefore carry more exit speed... exit speed is king!
eg; I can carry 153mph in to the apex of 130R, but at that speed it's right on the limit of front end grip and by the time I get back on the gas I might have dropped to 144 or so (and risked running off the track and getting a penatly). Better to enter at 149-150, but mantain all of that speed and be back on the gas before the outside rumble strip... lots of speed up to Casio then.
