At 9.00 i believe the presenter says its a few weeks of development left. So up until March its probably just testing the game out and making tweaks plus marketing etc.

I believe it is a JTCC Lexus SC

Also, the track plan seen in the photos, appear to be from Monza

20 tracks, no matter the variations, would be an Epic Fail. There has to be something lost in translation, sort of like "soon" means 6 months

I wouldn't read too much into the "revelation" part.. I can almost garantee it'll just be a recap of TGS's information (although I hope I'm wrong). It's just a way for them to get attention and well it's probably similar to this playstation magazine's we waited months for and revealed nothing but E3 news we alredy knew.

Told ya so.

English translation of the interview below:

Kazunori Yamauchi Interviewed by the French GT Champion 500 Benoit Treluyer. Exclusive JVN.com.

If the name of Benoit Treluyer do you say may be nothing, this is alençon original figure star in Japan, where he was notably champion GT 500 with the Nismo team. For JVN.com, he agreed to accompany us in the premises of Polyphony Digital to ask some questions to the immense Kazunori Yamauchi.
An encounter between two lovers racing to the sidelines of the interview, we will also yielded a few revelations about GT5. It has learned that the game has a good day / night cycle and it will last, can run in the rain. Similarly, management of the tires would wear to the program. Degradation which varies depending on the quality of pilotage and the rise in temperature gums. This will make it possible to optimize its sets of tires and driving studying graphic races, explained in detail in the video. Finally, if the F1 does not appear in the program of GT5, it is assumed that other cars would enter, starting with the famous Polyphony 001, 002, etc..

Benoit Treluyer: First question, Will be blessed with Gran Turismo 5 for Christmas?

Kazunori Yamauchi. To answer your question regarding the release date for Gran Turismo 5, did not know it was delayed. We never officially announced a release late 2009. But I understand that you are disappointed, this is not what you want or expect!

BT How many percentage of development is the game now?

Kazunori Yamauchi. If it's just to play the race or just run the game is over. However, if you want to go after the experience I would say we're at 65%.

BT I have tried the demo yesterday. It was found that the damage was present but not yet quite realistic because the cars do not deteriorate completely when you hit hard.

Kazunori Yamauchi. We are still in development and actually, we still have much work on this aspect of the game

BT has been much talked about online. Is there going to be many changes between GT5 Prologue and Gran Turismo 5? Such as online courses at regular intervals?

Kazunori Yamauchi. The big difference between Prologue and GT5 Prologue is that works like an open game. Anyone can go and play together. In GT5, there will be a restricted area where you can invite anyone you want or your friends. This is the big difference between the two games.

BT Among all the news we saw NASCAR, the GT 500, is what will become entitled to F1?

Kazunori Yamauchi. I have always wished that there be a maximum of championships and classes in Gran Turismo. That is why we have an agreement with NASCAR and WRC in GT. But my hope is obviously to integrate all disciplines in Gran Turismo. Unfortunately it is very difficult to put all the F1 teams.

BT Does he could be a day of other cars that enter the game?

Kazunori Yamauchi. Yes, it would be possible ...

BT Is what you've seen recently Forza 3? What do you think the game? Have you ever played? In fact, do you pay attention or you stay focused on Gran Turismo?

Kazunori Yamauchi. Our challenge is to improve each time the new GT from old games. But there is more competition and competition in the field of racing games, the more I believe that the arrival of other games is something good.

BT Just now I saw the game turn, and I saw a little graphic that is very interesting as a pilot because he used a lot by being professional. Can you tell us more? Is this it will be in the game?

Kazunori Yamauchi. You can either remove it or leave it in the final game. And now that you prefer?

Personally I prefer him to stay.

Kazunori Yamauchi. In this case, I leave ...

Explanations of Benoit Treluyer: This graph represents the lateral and longitudinal G. Plus the car accelerates and it will go down in the chart, the more you brake hard, the more you go up, and the car will grip side and we'll go on the sides. To fully use the grip, it must succeed in having a half-circle on top and half a smaller circle on the bottom. And if ever you find yourself with a triangle, that means that not much use the car. It uses what we (the pilots) to see if the balance of the car is correct and if in flight, using the maximum potential of the car. It is a graphics allows us to see if it is effective or not.

Did anyone else notice that those facial renders in the french video that the second face that gets brought up looks very much like the infamous translator guy.

That JVN interview is the most information we have ever gotten in one sitting.

Weather = CONFIRMED.
Tyre Wear = CONFIRMED.
Day/Night cycles = CONFIRMED.

Amazing. :)

Btw the orange thing with the cross is also confirmed its a G meter along with some other uses, so its not some debugger or whatever was mentioned earlier in the thread

In between what two lines was that understood?

Here's the google translation (just the good bit):

It has learned that the game has a good day / night cycle and it will last, can run in the rain. De même, une gestion de l'usure des pneus sera au programme . Similarly, management of tire wear will be in the program.

Degradation will vary depending on the quality of pilotage and the rise in temperature rubber.

Something very similar was used in the Best Motoring Drift Bible DVD.

#2 was pretty much a given. #1&3 are great though!

Not liking the idea of a later European release, pretty sure their marketing department will realise that the biggest market in Japanese gaming is handheld (thus GTM), really so out of date to have differing market releases at such huge stages. Anything more than a week or two is just pathetic.

NVM *moment of stupidity*

Man, I know what you mean. As for I, I spilled coffee on my paperwork! Darn it!

Day/Night cycles?? Are you serious?! Woooot

Found this on gamespot.

Load of what we already know.

Although he said you can tune cars with bumpers, skirts and wings now.

If this is for real, then I'm pshyched. The article from uk gamespot also mention that road cars will have deformation as well, but only on certain parts and that nothing will fall off. This tells me that they're modeling the engine for other reasons then.

It's a device for plotting a cars "Traction Circle" the only real way to tell if your tuning is going in the right direction, google it, they are indespensible in real life.

But I don't see any confirmation for rain or day/night, only maybe's................

Is really that hard to market GT series??

Prologue didnt have much marketing behind and still sold a lot of copies, If it was me I make a 15sec tv spot that says GT5 XX/XX/XXX and 1 page picture of the Ferrari 458 with the Gt logo, thats the only pr Gt series need....

It answers the day/night cycle

Is the new GT5 trailer up yet anywhere? Also, which video are you guys watching where you can see the new tracks, JGTC cars, and stuff?

Still no confirmation of a livery editor anywhere... :indiff:

A livery editor is one of the last things missing... Bodykit mods, day/night cycles and weather have been confirmed... I'm quite happy :D.. A livery editor will be icing on the cake..

Yeah but in Gamespots interview he confirmed GT5 wont have any of those cool online community features that Forza has... and its been in development twice as long! 👎
