Nope not yet Jav, July, August i think is the time for pre-orders if there will be any.

Acura will be just sick, can´t wait to get a mid -engined car aswell even though it´s a got damn american V8 in this one too like in every other got damn car ;)

Give me a M3 GT2 and i´ll die happy. (or 458 GT2) Screamers!!!

Hell yeah! Those 3 cars would make for some spectacular GT2 racing!!

Yup! That's why I'm going this route, plus rFactor 2 is on the horizon wich only justifies more the move to PC sims!

That would be awsome! But I understand, they prefer to have a bit of everything rather than focus all of their resourses in just 1 class. makes sense from a business point of view, hopefully they'll start doing it in the near future. If they do it I'll guess they'll just start with Nascrap since it is the easiest one.

There's already a multi-car class in the sense that there's two MX-5s to pick from in the Rookie Class. Either the Roadster or the Cup car. The Roadster is right-hand drive and the Cup's left-hand. They have different gearing and slightly different powerbands but the Roadster is definitely the faster of the two by about 5 tenths minimally.

Other than that there's really no reason for them to scan another car for an existing class. What I think they did with the Miatas is just mirror flip the steering and change the power numbers and transmission slightly to give it a different edge. They could do that with other cars though I guess. I don't see a benefit at all though.

The only thing I could think of that would really need a competitor car is a Holden V8 Supercar to counter the Ford we have now. Then after that (if they've already done everything they wanna do) they can add a Ferrari or Porsche to counter the C6.R, Lola B09/86 to counter the ARX-01C, and such.

Great rivalries represented. I really don't care for having crap load of cars to choose from. I'd rather have well defined and balanced counter-parts.

And Nascars are all the same chasis. The most they could do is let you choose different engines (Chevy, Ford, Toyota).

And don't knock oval racing till you've tried it. I never saw myself racing around in circles until I just randomly took the plunge one day after a bad road race and had tons of fun.

You'r right man, I'm just getting a bit carried away. The beauty of Spec racing is that real close bumper to bumper racing all race long, can't wait to step in!
Off topic, anyone interested in buying a used Carrera wheel?

The great thing about watching onboards of videos is that not only do you know the way round but you know where every single bump, banks and transitions is which adds some immersion when you watch these onboards.

Roadster and Cup are to completely different cars. it´s not just steering wheel on either side.
What they have done though is given the roadster the Cup tires and the same aero model.

And no, 5ths atleast is BS. Check the WR´s and see for yourself.

You don´t want completely different cars in the same class yet you want another car which is basically the same as the Ford V8 in the class? Makes no sense.

Where do you guys get your setups from? I'm quite rubbish at them and am looking for a good setup for the v8 and Okayama

Give this one a go mate, I did a mid 1:32 on it. A lot of setup tweaking still to go but it would be a good starting point, the car isn't too hard to drive.

Mad were you in my race this afternoon, around 5pm EST? 50 lapper at Okayama? Saw a couple of 1"32's. I was the mad dude with the rocket start in the Blue/Red Snap on tools Falcon. Only raced till half distance but lead for several laps so I was pretty stoked about that. Need to bring my level of concentration up. My irating took a battering for road courses over the weekend because I lost concentration towards the end of races.
I'm generally quick, but its the consistency that's killing me :(

By the way, how are you guys with starts? I don't think i've ever had a bad one even in ovals. I usually make 2-3 spots up

I'm from Aus ;)

Nah I don't think so mate, I was at the drags all day.

Consistency is king, speed is one thing but you need to be consistent especially over long races. In the V8 consistency is important simply to save tyres, you just have to punch out identical laps and try and not lock tyres and get masses of wheelspin.

I go ok at starts, but quite often get out done by Mitchell McLeod and Michael McCabe in the V8 Supercar Online Series on monday nights.

So I started my subscription using the 3 month deal. I need to watch that recommended video. Right now I have a million questions so it would be unfair to ask them all at once probably.

One thing I must get used to is obviously ABS is off right now. So driving that ford rookie racer I'm locking up my brakes and spinning. So still adjusting to not having ABS aids. I'm used to driving w/o every other aid but having no ABS will be a tough swallow initially.

I am so impressed with the FFB. I just wish the graphics depicted that? I mean, I can feel every bump and crack nicely. But when I look at the track, Obayama, it looks smooth heh. But maybe I don't understand? This is probably what it looks like in real life no doubt.

So many questions. Like how do i start earning iRanking. Plus, I like the way the Indycar, Williams F1, and Riley MKXXX looks. But I can narrow it down and just pick one of these 3.

So my Question:
If I were to pick just one of these cars, like Indy car. How much money do I have to spend before I can drive that car in a race? Which tracks and other cars would be required? I see they have a ton of tracks each selling for $12 each which can get expensive?

I also really want to start doing the rookie races. I expect to come in dead last being a poor noob. Any other recommended reading? I don't want to keep spamming yall with 50 questions every day if there is some reading material I should be learning

So i have a few questions too :) .

So really all i want iracing for is the road racing side of it.
I want to run cars such as Mustang FR500 , CR.R Vet, V8 supercar.
What would be the best route and what would the cost be.
Im lost on the pricing and such. I also heard you have to pay to race like 3 bucks each race on top of the sub price.

I've attached an Excel sheet that I got off the iracing forums that shows the pricing to do the different class D series. I just got iracing a couple days ago as well I don't understand a lot of it but from what I gathered you need to have at least a rating of 3 to advance to the next license at the end of the season? Also I would like to run with you guys in rookie races right now! Would be nice to run with people from GTP. :)

Ok let´s break it down here ;)

Yes ABS is off, better to learn without it, it´s faster and you actually develop driving skills instead of just slamming the brakes all the time. You will appreciate way more when you brake past someone etc later on.
I would personally just not use any driving aids at all, it just dumbs it down and you learn bad habits imo.

Most small elevations is hard for eyes to see but yea i think it´s mainly due to having to make the tracks work on all computers. Depends on your computer aswell, what specs do you have?

iRating you mean, you earn that in the race. Finish high in every race and your iRating will climb up, this will then decide which split you will end up in. It separates the wreckers from the racers.

Well Indycar is B class i think, so in the forums, check for the top category above General Chat, there you have schemes of what series runs what tracks. You don´t have to own all of them.
You just need to get your SR up to 4.00, you will then automatically be promoted to the class above. If you keep it above 3.00 and do 4 races but don´t race anymore, you will be promoted after the 12 weeks have passed (including the fun week Week 13 which ended in 15min here so i got promoted now)

Drive rookie races until you become a safe driver, getting consistent and learning the tracks the Rookie class has to offer. Then move into D class, you can go either open wheeler (Skippy) or tintop (Mustang).

In the "press room" where the news is and such there´s a tab called something (i think it´s resources, the site is down now due to promotions so i can´t tell for sure) Anyway, read the Sporting Code so you know the rules of the game, this is very important so grab a coffee and sit down and just read all of it.

Keep asking, Tomorrow i can answer some questions if you like.

Read post above regarding what tracks you need/want to buy and how to advance your license level.

You only pay for cars/tracks and monthly sub. It´s totally free to race in the official series m8 ;)

If you want to host races it´s $0.50 and hour basically where you can book races up to a year etc.

What sort of machines are you guys running iracing on? I have a super old computer that can run games that I play no problem, but I don't know about this game. Anyone running it close to my specs by chance?

Intel e5300
4 gb ram
XFX 4850 1GB video card

Well I just wasted 2 months iRacing membership...
Only paid for 1 month mind you, but it is still pretty annoying.
I've just not had the desire to race for some reason. Probably why I haven't touched GT5 since the end of Feb as well. :indiff:

Should also mention that once you get D license you cannot keep running Rookie class if you want to advance your license.

To advance from D you need to drive D cars, To advance from C you need to drive C cars etc.

Most important, take it easy, do not join races if you haven´t practiced and feel YOU are safe enough, then you can worry about other people. Use practice sessions to learn racecraft. You can now drive whatever car you own in whatever license level to gain experience, but only in practice. I can´t stress enough the importance of racecraft.
To many guys are super quick in Qualifying yet they can´t race for ****, then get nervous and takes out both guys.

I´ve maxed out basically,

2x GTX580
Sabertooth X58
3x 120Hz Benq 24 inch screens
i7 950 OC´d to 4.2GHz

You will have to cut down on eye candy, if you have a 60Hz screen then try and get a stable 80fps or so.

Also, TURN OFF VSYNC - it creates a lag between your steering wheel movement and the actual movement in the game. You will also miss you braking points by around a meter etc.

The image will be less smooth but you get no input lag.

You haven´t even gotten in to the fun yet :)

When you get some close races going in the faster cars, the cost will be long forgotten and that´s when the addiction starts to kick in.

Sometimes i don´t race for 2 weeks but the cost iRacing costs me is nothing. I would spend those money on crap anyways..
