IRS GT4 Championship Series - Series Complete! Season 2 starts soon!!

I have some important topics to cover. I need everyone's assistance during pre race preparations.

1. Drivers must not leave the lobby once qualifying has concluded and we are ready to start the race. I have to reconfirm everyone's BoP status when they do that.

If folks need to clear their cache they should do that prior to joining the lobby.

2. Please stay on track once qualifying is done. At least for a few minutes. This is not as critical is issue #1 but it's still helpful.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer. Lol

Sounds fair enough to me. I only do that when I see everyone else do it cause it makes me think that maybe my car was teleporting or something and that's what causes everyone to clear their cache suddenly. The dark Viper in front of me on the warm lap was acting real goofy, like he had a bad ping, once the race started it seemed ok though.

He was jumping around at Brands Hatch as well.

I'm used to seeing the big jumps, on track then in the kitty litter then right in front of you etc.. These were smaller jumps where he stayed on track but the car was still jumping around, wasnt quite what I was used to seeing.

and, here is the prelim post for our new endurance series.,

The Championships

This will be a 11 race series. All races count, however, points equal to last place in class will be awarded for up to two missed races.
There are separate Pro, Am, and Team Pro/Am championships. Teams are not mandatory .
If you wish to attend individual races, you are welcome but entry priority is given to Championship participants.

Teams will be comprised of two drivers and will be Pro/Am from any car class.

A driver may compete in either class regardless of his rating. I.E. Pro can race Gr3 and Am can race in GT500. The organizer reserves the right to alter driver ratings as necessary.

Drivers score points in their designated class regardless of class of car driven.

Points

Points will be awarded as follows
1st 100
2d 85
3d 75
4th 65
5th 55
6th 45
7th 40
8th 35
9th 30
10th 25
11th 20
12th 15
13-16th 10

Points for DC will be the same as the last in class finisher.

Point penalty for quitting ( same as last finisher +5) with the exception of a “ force majeure”.( which which means "I'm so far back"or "I'm so mad" quits, etc. are NOT "Force Majeure". Force majeure is a household emergency , going to hospital, avoiding spousal conflict, an equipment failure etc.).

Drivers need to be rated in the easiest possible way.. perhaps test race weekend? ( we have to test the whole thing anyway). There are many drivers with known abilities that immediately put them in their proper class. And we, the IRS, have a rating system that will be of help, but mostly it's common sense.

.
Championship unique elements

Mandatory 5 min pit stop (in all races over 90 minutes in length).
Procedure:Enter pits, touch nothing. When elapsed timer in the upper right hits 5 min you hit the appropriate button to start your stop. If you leave early you will pit next lap and complete the stop.

Causing a collision. If you, through contact or car placement, cause another driver to have an accident causing damage that requires him to pit for repairs, YOU WILL follow him to the pits, make a pit stop, and then, upon exiting the pits, wait for him to finish his pit stop and repairs, allow him to pass, and, then, resume racing.

Start and Room Procedures

If there is only one room, qualification will be 45 min before race start and will last 25 minutes. Specific instructions will be forthcoming.

If entry dictates multiple rooms, Classes will qualify in separate rooms, and then Hosts will recombine rooms and advise drivers as to which room they are in.

If, (as in, be careful what you wish for), the entry is overwhelming, we will all go hide in the ladies room.... Actually if this happens we will be forced to hold qualifying sessions prior to race day and combine the results and post rooms as we did in previous WRS and IRS major races.

Rolling start with formation lap during which classes will separate. At the Ring and Le Mans there will be a set "Acceleration Zone" where the race may start after classes are split.

Classes may be combined into Gr3 if the room does not have 12 drivers. If there are not enough upper class cars to “race” ( 4 or more) classes will be combined.

Additional rooms will be created if there are 20 or more drivers present or 40 or more drivers present. Room split will be odd/even by grid order to insure a modicum of symmetry . Full points will be be awarded for all rooms with 8 or more drivers. Any room with less than 8 will score 70% points.

Communication in races
We will use a separate Discord channel for each room until Sony issues forth with the 16 room chat. Channels will be posted here before our first race.

More as it develops. We will hold shorter races in late July, and August to look at the drivers and work out the kinks. Looking to a Mid Sept launch that does not conflict with other non weekly series here and in Europe.

Points standings have been updated except for the 1 point for fastest lap. I will watch the replay tonight and get that done.

I am presently working on a spreadsheet for the Ballast Tracker. Should have that done later today.

There is a 3 by my name on the last sheet. That means I need to add 3% more weight than the BOP numbers indicate, correct? So what I need to do is check my BOP percentages then instead of turning BOP on I need to adjust HP and WT numbers accordingly while adding 3% more weight than the corrected BOP, correct??

In the "Car Regulations" spoiler tab, your cars BoP numbers are as follows:

Lexus RC-F Power = 99%/415 hp - Weight = 103%/3,179 lbs

So, for the next event you should increase the weight percentage number to 106%. The power number does not change.

I will be posting exact numbers for everyone who has accrued ballast tonight when I get home.

Most people have duplicates of cars in their collection. May I suggest that you designate one of your Gr.4 RC-F as specific for use in this series. Then, go into the tuning menu and set these percentages (both power and weight) and keep them like that until you either gain more or lose some of the ballast. That way when you enter the lobby and start practicing you have a better chance at having those set correctly.

This is why it's important that people not leave the lobby after quali. When people leave there is a chance that the car is not set up properly. I have to manually check these while in the lobby.

That is exactly my plan, the Go-Pro Lexus I use only for these races, I want to keep it fresh, I dont want to wear it out or crash it heaven forbid!!! We all know that once a race car is wrecked its never as fast as it once was.
