IRS GT4 Championship Series - Series Complete! Season 2 starts soon!!

Came in last but still happy to be part of a well organized and clean race!

Check out my epic auto drive donuts in the replay :D

@fastone371 I kept seeing the blue flags and a command to yield to a faster car (you) for quite some time but you were too far behind and I wasn't sure if it would make any sense to slow down that much. Sorry if I misjudged and got in your way!

No problem, you were not in my way at all. The best thing to do is just be consistent and let the faster driver figure out a way past you, no reason that you should need to slow down and yield, you did just fine. I was just going to follow you anyway, there were only a few laps left and I was not under pressure. I was getting the blue flags too, apparently from myself.:lol::lol:

The Points Standings Sheet and the Ballast Tracker Sheet have been updated and I have posted the new screen shots.

I still have to post the updated vehicle weight figures for those who have accrued some ballast this week. It looks like @fastone371 and @SDM_Viper are maxed out at 5%. By Championship rules they cannot accrue any more weight penalty and will only lose weight by finishing out of the top 5 in a race. Missing races does not remove weight.

@SDM_Viper and @fastone371 did a great job this week overcoming the ballast that they had accrued. Viper was already near maxed out for this race but @fastone has gained quite a bit of weight for the next race. A full 2 percentage points! It's going to be interesting how things develop from here. Will any of the other competitors be able to capitalize?

The points standings are looking very tight at the top! 5 points separate the top three drivers! Clean Racer has the lead by a mere 2 points over @fastone371 who has two consecutive race wins. But @SDM_Viper is lurking nearby. He has shown that he can manage the added weight and still score points.

We are at the mid season break... Next weeks race is a Special Event where we will be racing the Renault R8 Gordini at Goodwood. This event is a just for fun no tuning affair. It's a fantastic little car. We will be running it in Stock settings using Sport Soft tires. Tire wear and fuel will be the usual x3. There will be 2 20 minute races with reverse grid for race 2. Who is gonna make it to the race?

Race organizers are meeting to discuss a possible rules change. The discussion is about turning tire wear and fuel use on during qualifying. They are thinking that it may add a touch of strategy and help drivers prepare for what the tire wear will be like during the race.

Drivers, let your thought be known on the issue... the Organizers are always listening.:gtpflag:

I would suggest to add a note to Car Regulations section that Power/Weight settings are to be configured by drivers prior to entering the race. I somehow assumed this would be taken care of automatically.

As for turning tire wear and fuel use on during qualification this could be useful indeed. Again, as a newcomer I wasn't sure if I would have to pit in to refuel during the race. I still don't understand how tyre wear and fuel consumption are measured in the game (i.e. what x3 really means). Had I had to pit in during the qualification I would have been more prepared for the race. I would make sure to turn on fuel indicator on, which was off this time and I couldn't make it show up on the screen during the race somehow (I guess because I have "Race Only" setting for displaying information).

Count me in for the Gordini, I will be there.

Yesterday I had to race with 3% ballast addition, next race I think I will be forced to drive a quad axle Mack dump truck.:boggled::boggled:

I think I know how I would adjust tire/fuel wear but after watching yesterday's race replay I believe it would affect the FR cars the most ie Viper and myself.

Going forward we will be utilizing g the newly added qualifying mode in our race lobbies.

The Special Ecent will give us the opportunity to test and evaluate this new mode.

Will tire wear and fuel consumption be on or off???

I'm also thinking due to the update we should reset the ballast tracker???:D:D:D

So, why are you working on a livery for my car and when I am going to use it? :)
I did two liveries. I do a lot of liveries because it's a nice brake from driving. You are free to use one of you would like. It's up to you. Just go to my gallery and add it to your library.

We had some great racing in the little Gordini today!

Thanks to everyone who turned up!

I hope to have some media to post up in the thread in the next couple of days.

I will also be posting up the ballast guide for the next race. It will confirm where everyone should be in terms of vehicle weight. The Ballast Sheet is already updated so I just need to go through each car and add those percentages then post it.

This series has been a bit of work but it has all been worth it.
