Posting again as we just changed pages and I don't want this post to get lost too fast.

I don't think we're gonna get a lot of people tonight. I'm toying with the idea of just skipping next week and using next Wednesday to test some things. I already know you guys are available on Wednesday nights and there's nothing wrong with delaying the next season for one week just to tweak some things, right? I'll still be on a bit tonight but we should get a proper test session with a large grid and so we can get more info out of it.

Everyone okay with testing next Wednesday and delaying Season 4 by one week?

Will not be racing next season(4) due to the timezone. Race start at 03.00 AM is impossible for me. I really like this series but it's very difficult for me to participate regularly. @DesertPenguin, would you mind taking me off the participation list, since I probably won't race future seasons either. Hope you have some great racing this year!

No worries mate. It was good to have you when we did.

Hey everyone. I would like to announce that the Toyota 86 Racing Series will be run under the International Racing Series (IRS) banner. With this I have been granted title of IRS League Organizer. This change also brings with it all of the IRS requirements you see in their threads. I'm going to start updating the first posts with all of this and it shouldn't take too long.

For the most part everything will still feel the same. It's still my series overall so it's not like it's going to be run by all of the IRS League Organizers as a group. I guess they'll step in if they have to but I don't expect it. All that you need to change on your cars is the addition of some IRS logo decals. No requirement on where so do whatever works with your livery. Sides, back, front, hood, roof, spoiler, makes no difference. Just slap it on something and you're good. I have it reposted on my activity feed in two size options.

Just a reminder that this Wednesday is a test session for rolling starts and heavy damage. All races will be short so we can grid up more often as that's the part of the race we're testing. Some with standing starts and heavy damage and then rolling starts. What I'd like to find out is how long it takes to catch up and start attacking the driver ahead when doing a rolling start. Will it be just a few turns or most of the lap? I don't know and we should get a good turnout for some good data. Hope to see most of you then!

Hmm, that may prove difficult for me, as it was Rinsky who originally created my livery back in the day :irked:
Get in touch with him and he can edit the livery to include the logo where you'd like, share it, and then you download the new one. The links to the decals are in the first post livery requirements section and I reposted them in my activity feed in case the links don't work.

Hey @DesertPenguin . Just wanted to tell you that after alot of consideration, I need to withdraw for this series. I simply do not have the time to practice for it. Once my kids are out of school for the summer, I might be able to join more leagues then. Thanks for giving me a shot this past season. Was great meeting new folks too!

Weak boost will be added to the testing. It won't affect the front runners too much unless one falls back but it may greatly benefit those at the back who drop off more frequently. When set to weak it should be enough to bring you back to the pack but then it "turns off" and you have to work to pass someone. It shouldn't create artificial overtakes and I don't think it will but we'll test to be sure.

Hey guys just dropping in to say hello. I know I have raced with many of you guys before, but not all of you. A little introduction from me, I am the head of the IRS (International Racing Series). Me and DesertPenguin have been in talks for a while now and we finally decided to pull the trigger on this. I Just wanted to drop in to welcome you all into the IRS family and look forward to seeing the future of this series.

Series Announcement

Tonight's test session will open at 8:30pm EST. I'd like to start the races at 9 or shortly after. We will be testing three things. Rolling starts, heavy damage, and weak boost. We will be using Kyoto Yamagiwa. Weak boost will be on for the entire night. Each test setup will get five races, each four laps in length. A lap is just under two minutes so a new race every 10 minutes or so. Each test setup will last roughly 45 minutes.

Test 1: Standing starts with heavy damage
Test 2: Rolling starts with heavy damage

When it comes to the boost I will be starting at the back of the grid and waiting roughly 20 seconds before starting. This will be to determine how long it takes the boost to bring that gap back down and at what point does it's effect weaken to where I have to work to get alongside and past the car ahead. I highly encourage another driver to do the same so we can have more data on the subject.

The most important part of this test session is you guys giving input all along the way. Please speak up as much as possible and let me know everything that you discover. I know it's hard with the D-Pad in-game but do your best. You can also message me on PSN Messages App on your phone which may be easier to type longer messages. And of course post in the thread or message me anything you want. I really hope we get some good data to take into the new season.

-The Management
