IRS | Toyota 86 Racing Series | Mondays 9p EST | BIG FINALE TONIGHT: Dragon Trail - Seaside II

Series Announcement

Testing for Season 4 has concluded and we have made some changes to the lobby settings. Going forward we will be using rolling starts, heavy damage, and weak slipstream. Boost will remain off.

We all know how heavy damage works so that's a no brainer. Be more conscious of the cars around you and where/how you can go two-wide safely. Slipstream is a bit different. We are all used to Real Slipstream from this series and probably everything else we run. Now that it's on Weak it is slightly stronger. Over the course of the season please be aware of this and take not of any times the difference is noticeable. Keep an ongoing discussion here with what you discover so others can learn from it.

Pack your bags, we're heading to Japan!

Any of the faster guys wanna help me train on suzuka? Maybe let me follow you for a few laps and try and pick up some pointers.

Last night jw and I were basically staying in fourth gear the entire track it bogs you down a little bit but the time you gain in stability and not having to shift makes you much faster I domt have a problem running some laps with you before Wednesday night @Clean Racer is great at explaining lines and brake points...he drives his line and is one of the most consistent drivers. Me personally just try to go out and run a qualifier every lap

Anthor thing that might help from week to week is saving the replays from practice and watch what your doing and watch what others are doing and try to mimic the faster guys focus on entry speed, gears and exit speed when I started out I did that alot and got better with practice and time

Thats my problem. I have no one to compare my times to until race night.

For example. I'll run consistent 1:00 laps thinking im doing good but then get to race night and find out everyone ia running 58s effortlessly.

Then im left with 15 minutes to try and gain 2 secs before the race.

When I have those same problems one thing I do is create a open lobby when I'm online using the lobby settings I'm going to race wednesday or in my case Saturday with and run some practice laps and if people join run a 5 or 6 lap race...what that does is it gives me a guideline for the race....let's say I'm running a 1 minute and am doing good and someone I race aginst in a practice lobby is running a .57 I save the replay and after I'm done for the night I'll watch the replay turn all the track info on and see where they are gaining time then go back and create a lobby and try what they are doing to see if there is any improvement in my time....if no one joins I'll run 2 to 3 race pace laps get what I think is a good time then start mixing it up like taking a corner different or in a higher/lower gear and just keep doing that until something clicks in my head but 9 times out of 10 if you open a lobby there will be people that enter the track and will want to race...I'm on every night around 9 PM central or so and if I see you with a open lobby I'll join and share what info I can to help
