IRS | Toyota 86 Racing Series | Mondays 9p EST | BIG FINALE TONIGHT: Dragon Trail - Seaside II

Right. He said he changed the gearbox after so I'm thinking he means after he left the lobby and messed around on his own.
Yes I left and changed it from Manual to sequential. I never race in automatic. I'm not sure why I was so much slower before I got to turn 1. I could attribute others being faster due to better racing lines etc but on the straight there was a huge discrepancy like I was down on power. There has to be a reason. I'm sure I'll figure it out. I wish I took a video capture of it, even when I was lapped on straights I couldn't keep up.

That’s the spirit lol. Check the power setting and weight the should be at 105% power 89% weight. Also if you run TC the car won’t accelerate as fast.
I did notice that the car was a dog out of the corners I turned the TC down to 1 and it was better but I think that I'll try it with it off as well.

With the soft tires & low power of the car I feel like you really have to be thrashing on it to lose traction in the rear, and even then it's very easy to control. Definitely try it without TC on, but that doesn't explain being low on power in the straights.

100% these are two separate issues. The car felt down on power or it was heavy or both. I'll update later tonight. If anyone is online I'll do a some laps with you and see how it compares.

Add me we can test it on the same track. Luist_99 but I don’t get off from work after 6 central time.

Did a few laps and adjusted the power to 105 and changed the weight to 89 as instructed and my lap times dropped by about 3 seconds from my previous qualifying heats. I only did 4 laps but they dropped progressively so I think I'm on the right track. Now I just need to find or make a livery instead of stealing DesertPenquin lol!

So you simply didn't have it at the right specs. That's also on me for not thinking of checking that. If I did I probably would have seen it and we'd have this all sorted.

All good. Hopefully I'll have this sorted for the next event and I'll place better. Most of my sim racing has been in Project Cars 2 on Xbox1X so there's been a bit of a learning curve but I'll be better with more seat time.

Sorry for the delay guys. I've been off the last week or so. I'll get everything updated today.

This week is Tsukuba, next week is my choice as FroZone backed out. Last week is Tokyo Central Outer Loop.

Edit: Scores and Schedule are updated for Season 6

I've been hot lapping the car without TC and it's much better. I'm looking forward to seeing how I qualify this Wednesday. Thanks for the tips. I've also been doing the Circuit Experience to learn the tracks and I must say that it's been helpful. I actually came close to you on some sectors.

Good to hear!

If you keep practicing you should be able to beat my times, I pretty much just moved on if I got a gold even if I didn't "nail it" and I didn't nail quite a few as I got a lot on the 1st try. I was just doing them for the gift cars & a little familiarity, I prefer to practice the tracks in the specific car I plan to use.

There are a couple of sections where I just couldn't get gold no matter what I tried so I moved on as well. I didn't know that you got cars for completing the tracks so that was an added bonus. I'm just enjoying the added seat time so to speak and if I'm improving I feel good about the whole deal.

What track are you guys practicing on?

I've done all of the track experience sections & laps to gold. I don't practice on them. I just load whatever track I want to practice on in time attack & use whatever car I plan to race with. Except the FIA races, I practice those with the "free practice" option since BoP is involved.

I did about a dozen laps at Tsukuba in the 86 earlier and then switched to Monza in my FIA Mustang since that one is giving me problems.

@DesertPenguin is it cool if I run a different livery this week? All the necessary logos are on it.
