IRS | Toyota 86 Racing Series | Mondays 9p EST | BIG FINALE TONIGHT: Dragon Trail - Seaside II

I'll probs be the same I actually miss read the start time but fook it I'm in. I'll try to get a powernap b4 hand and have some fun With you guys
Just curious, what part of it did you miss read? Maybe I can tweak it to make it clearer for prospective newcomers

Personally I thought the 15:30 about the race climate was the IRL time we would be racing at for a few days, but I figured it out once I reread it.

For some reason I always end up playing with English people. So 90% of the events I join are GMT+1. I overlooked the EST part and automatically assumed that the timezone would be GTM+1

Luckily I'm off work on some thursdays so I definitely will wanna try to make those days. Next thursday i will be working, so I think tonight is my final race for this season. My aim is three races per season to get a final score. 👍

Sorry for the late notice but I'm not going to be able to race/host tonight. I'm staying a bit late and kind of want to dive into Battlefield V when I get home. If someone else could host and follow the procedure as listed in the opening posts you should be fine.

@Clean Racer or @aceboy127 maybe?

I'm still at work and will be for another hour. You guys wanna wait go ahead, but I'm beat and will use this week as my "by week" for points.

If someone else can host go ahead and start on time. If not I can open the room when I get home but I won't be racing.

That’s a good plan DP. Let’s do that, postpone until next week.
Perhaps we can decide on a back up host for future events and occurrences
That would require someone to confirm they can make it every single week. So far you've been at every race. So has @Clean Racer and @Herimopp89. Would either of you three like to be back-up host in case of emergencies?

I could most likely commit to that. I tried setting up the lobby earlier but got stuck in how to make it a timed race. Still kind of new creating lobbies and hosting. Perhaps you can walk me through it at some point.

I should have realized the night before Thanksgiving might be an issue for some.

Speaking of, in December we would be racing on the day after Christmas and in January on New Year's Day. Are these issues?

They day after Christmas won't work for me, I won't be home so. More likely that I will race New Years day, but probably won't be able to

Series Announcements

-Dunlop has been excited to watch the first two rounds of the season and has decided to supply us with a new version of their sport soft tire. These tires will be more durable, lasting the entire race. They believe this new tire will help facilitate more of the close on track battles they have been enjoying so much thus far. (Tire wear has gone from x2 to x1)

-A proposition for everyone: How do you feel about switching to a lap based race format? This would take affect with the start of Season 2. Race 1 would be calculated to last roughly 20 minutes and is how long one full tank lasts, while Race 2 would be slightly shorter than it is now. This creates a pit window to pit early for a full tank or use all your fuel and put in slightly less. Before it was simply drive until you run out and everyone tried to squeeze and extra lap or two in. A quick test at Yamagiwa meant a 10 lap race and an 18 lap race. For the second race the pit window would be laps 8-10. This should lower fuel saving tactics, raise on track action, and create an actual pit strategy, right?

I don't know about pit strategy put it should help determining how much fuel you need on the last stent and not excatly guess

It was mainly for this actually. Just to make it easier for everyone. Right now everyone runs their fuel out and pits so there isn't really any chance for an undercut, as rare as those are. At least now there's the opportunity for stuff like that.

Yes, the tire wear change is taking affect this week and will remain going forward. I'd like to move ahead with the lap races as well but felt it was only right to ask the group their opinion as we have time to make a joint decision before Season 3 starts.
