IRS | Toyota 86 Racing Series | Mondays 9p EST | BIG FINALE TONIGHT: Dragon Trail - Seaside II

I'm sorry it wasn't written and it will be now, but it's been an agreement with everyone that no tuning includes keeping Fuel Map at 1. Please do this from now on. I definitely need to take this semi-seriously and practice a bit too with both cars so I can remember the differences.

I'm increasing tire wear to x4 to help make them wear a bit more when racing hard against others. Drivers in a group racing each other will wear their tires differently than someone a few seconds behind that group who can do cleaner hot laps.

Yep, didn't see anything about that. Didn't think to ask.

Edit: Then I question his fuel strategy then because he should have ran out of fuel long before I pit.

Yea, fuel should have lasted 17 laps, maybe 18 if you short shift a bit. Short shifting is of course allowed as it's part of driving style. @Whitey093 has been around awhile so I'd think he remembers the fuel mapping rule. If not then he does now :)

Next week is Maggiore - East which has plenty of room for us. I really like DT Gardens and that opening chicane simply requires patience. It's certainly a momentum/rhythm track and that's fun when you're chasing someone down. Maggiore - East should provide the same excitement but with a bit more room to play around with.

I was fuel map 1 all race but I short shifted the entire race. I believe peak power drops off before redline anyway so short shifting is faster. I really debated taking tires but last week turbo was faster on worn tires than I was with new ones so I figured there wouldn’t be much advantage to taking them. I stayed pretty consistent most of the race but in the last corner of the second to last lap my worn out right front bit me and I slid off track in the hairpin throwing the race away. Turbo was right there anyhow though so he would probably have still got me. At least I made it close.

Wow short shifting really makes a big difference. Still not enough for the whole race but if you are diligent it can pay off. Like if you start building a gap to someone you can short shift to stay out an extra lap or two over them.

Tires x4 should make that decision to change them or not even more debatable

Nice to know I was pushing pretty hard to catch you and you were out for a leisurely stroll.

Not quite yet. I have one but need to do some maintenance on it to ensure it works properly. I’m faster with the DS4 in gtsport though. The wheel is key to my pcars future

Super bummed to have missed yesterday, I was really looking forward to racing. Unfortunately work comes first and by the time I got home and ate dinner I was already too exhausted to even hope to race. It sounds like you guys had a good race, hopefully I can make it next week.

It was definitely a fun night because while some guys are insanely fast I'm finding others that I thought were that fast are fallible. We only had 7 people at most but people still weren't pulling away. I can only imagine how much better it would be with a full grid competing against each other. There were a lot more randoms joining the room last night than ever on a Wednesday so that's promising. I sent them all messages to check out the link to the thread and made sure to mention we're part of GTPlanet. Got a few bites. Hopefully they pop in the thread sometime this week.

Ready!

That seems like a pretty simple task?
Under tray off, bumper off, remove current grille, install new one, put everything else back. Probably a couple hours if I don't rush. But I get off at 5pm and it takes me 30 minutes to get home, plus the two hours for the grille. I have someone waiting on the one I am taking out so they can purchase it from me. Trying to get it done ASAP.

Despite Inkscape continuing to give me trouble, I've been trying to finish up the livery I started a while back. Looking for some ideas though as I'm not sure exactly what I want to do with it from here...
