IRS VW Scirocco Cup Season 1 | Tuesdays 9PM Eastern | Season Completed - Thanks to all who raced!

Sorry guys. I can't make it tonight but I should be able to make all the other races.

That battle for second though. We made it a 2 lane track everywhere with no touching, well til the last lap but then we were 3 wide and that was insane. Great race!

I knew I could take the inside line on you two but you came up on the outside and squeezed me so I couldn't stretch the legs and create distance. Seriously fun. And people think Fuji is bad for slow cars ha!

Wellllll I don’t like RS tires and the schedule reads like a list of tracks I’m terrible at (except Suzuka) but it’s a good group of people and a fun car so I’d like to join in. I didn’t see the thread in time to join for the first week.

Oh, and my girlfriend was in charge of the livery design this time.

I hate it, but it is looking less likely that I can join in tonight. I love Mt Panorama too.
Crazy work to catch up on after the holiday and I'm home alone with the kid's tonight as well.

One never knows, but dont wait for me if i'm not there in time. 🤬

Wow this thread is quiet. Looking forward to my first online race at Barcelona tonight.
People don't know what they are missing. The racing is phenomenal. We are at a good track tonight for these cars. Actually, these cars are fun just about anywhere.

I am working on the points standings. Please forgive my lack of experience with the presentation.

It’s a tough track. I raced with ARL last week almost purely to get a race in at Barcelona and see how it is. I feel like I have the rhythm but that was in GT3 cars so I don’t know how the Scirocco is going to feel. Tire management just might be a factor as this track seems to shred rubber.

It's all good, it's a big learning curve and it takes time to get it all right. I do love a good mix of spec racing and tuned racing, this actually will be very good preparation for Saturday, so there's that too.

Since the track was released I believe I might have 100 to 120 laps there and really starting getting a feel for it now I am.going to try it in a fwd gr4 car....great lol

I feel like running the Scirocco series is a big help to the Suoebug series because you have the track scouted out and can bring some momentum forward. Last week in the Scirocco series I kind of figured Bathurst out so had a leg up to make a run at noir in the Superbug. I still lost but I made a race out of it at least for once.

I checked under the "car regulations" and "lobby settings" couldn't find it under either.

The fact that you even were able to challenge @Antares26 is very impressive, because everyone knows how good he is.

Last week we all used RS, and for me at least I think they only wore down 30% or so, so I imagine they’ll be used for all of the sprint races. @DesertPenguin you weren’t there last week.

The main question I have is the policy for using TC, since it’s pretty well known that using TC1 is an advantage for saving front tires on the FF cars. I didn’t use it last week since it felt like cheating since I didn’t know if anyone else was using it. Other than the standing starts, is there really another benefit to having TC enabled for this series? Since it doesn’t make the car any easier to drive.

When I host a race or a series I prefer to make it welcoming to most skill levels. Allowing TC will, hopefully, persuade drivers who might otherwise be intimidated. Fell free to use it or not use it. I was not aware to what affect it could be used with FF cars but now that we all know I suppose the advantage may be minimized.

If attendance improves we will see some real battles in this series. The battles have been pretty good so far. I know I have not had time to relax at all during races. In fact, I can't wait to go to the Green Hell with these cars!

I generally avoid TC but I need it at the start as I am tragic getting off the line and in snail have gone from pole to last by turn 1 on many occasion. Last week I plain forgot to turn it off because I had a speed demon breathing down my neck the whole race haha. It wasn’t until I crossed the finish line I even realized what I did but in reflection I instantly recognized that it had helped me keep the car on a rail. I always thought TC made you slower but it was clearly the opposite.

In race 1 I am pretty sure I turned it off by turn 2 but race 2 I definitely had it on all race and boy what a difference. Maybe the top drivers can come to a gentlemen’s agreement to not use it at all. I would be for it if everyone else was on board. Hell I’ll just forego it by myself if others would prefer that. I don’t much care I just like the competition and the laps in preparation for Saturday

Reminder:
It's race night!
Lobby opens at 20:30 EST
20 minute Qualifying at 21:00 EST
Then we race.

The more drivers the better. As a few have said. Good practice for the Beetle race but also good fun on its own.

See you on track!!
