Despite being born and raised in the states, I was taught Cebuano language first.
The funny thing is...
The moment I became fluent in english, I... Ended up losing most of my ability to speak my family's language.
I can understand what they say, but for some reason, I couldn't speak it.
So in the end, all I know from my first language is the ability to understand what people are saying, and having an accent
