This bit of the E3 trailer at dusk where you see landing lights on what looks like an airstrip, im pretty sure that is the main straight of the Top Gear Track.

This could however be some other airport drag strip but an airport would not look so sparse in the background (it would have planes and buildings), this just has two huts on the right hand side of the shot.

I think its these two buildings at the Top Gear Track seen on Google Earth.

Can anyone confirm from a Top Gear vid or something that these are indeed on the side of the main straight?

Exactly what I thought when I saw it. I can't think of any other airport-based track that would still have the lights in the tarmac, so it might really be the Top Gear track.

Could well be - TG doesn't have any lights - but they could've tarted it up for the game - as otherwise it would look pretty bland!!

TG does have lights, its a runway. They just aren't lit up when they film.

To me it looks like you got those buildings identified pretty well there ;)

Another thing I have noticed is that the tree line in the screenshot look very much like the tree line you see on TV (Top Gear) Also, Dunsford aerodrome is mostly pretty bare apart from a hangar here and there, as far as I can tell...

It's a very good match, the buildings in the screenshot seem about the same distance from the runway as the Top-down shot from google earth 👍

Yeah its a functioning airstrip so it has lights, its just that Top Gear never film at dusk or nighttime. I think there was only once they did a piece on it at night which was with the M3 and AMG estate cars.

YES YES YES... It's here YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

If I am not mistaken the angle in the trailer depicts the barns near the Chicago corner. Pics for reference

How are they going to work out the cross-over point on the track if it's to be used for racing? Or are we only going to get this as a TT circuit?

There's always ghosting if used as a racetrack. Or, damage.:mischievous:

Loving the lights regardless.

I am pretty sure it is Top gears Dunsfold track, if so its looking good.

I saw a good picture which should be a bit clearer. I will edit it in.

yes they do have lights I (renember ) FORGOT HOW TO SPELL IT :S that Hammond broke one and Jeremy joked about James flying home that night

Here's a good comparison photo,
I'm pretty sure the runway is the Top Gear test track

look at the hangers in the background of the first picture, what way the are facing.
and the directioon of the runway in comparison the the real...

Umm, couldn't it be Sebring? Also a airport track and that's where the American Le Mans series race at.

EDIT: never mind. I take that back. it does look like Top Gear's test track.

But, the runway parts of Sebring that are raced on have concrete walls on the edge and repaving over the concrete, etc. The raced bits also have been inactive as runways for years/decades, therefore no lights.

IIRC, not much of a surrounding treeline there either.

edit: I see you edited.👍

Yeah, it's def Top Gear's.

Sebring is surrounded by walls for most of the track.
