I am a gt2 wheel user and I can't use my h pattern shiftier and I have other issues I am trying to sort out but lack of sleep is getting Me no were tonight i will try and mess with it morning before work. Bug more i think about it a patch would fix about 95% of my issues. I would say this game is broken for gt2 and gt3 owners at the moment

I bought a GT2 wheel just to play this game. Don't even wanna plug it in & try until there's a patch for it.

SMS must've known that Fanatec wheels weren't working properly before they released P CARS.

:ouch: :grumpy: 👎

It must be horribly frustrating if you have game breaking bugs/compatibility issues, but reading around I don't get the impression that that is the case for the majority.

There are some bugs, some menu issues and more things that could be added to enhance the experience in the future, but I think this is a really great foundation to build on.

Personally I am loving it.

Whenever I try to turn it on for just a bit of casual racing, I end up playing for hours! I've had a lot of late nights this week!

My Fanatec wheel works like a dream, just as well on my PS4 version as it does on my PC version. So not all Fanatec wheels are having issues ;)

As for worst game released, not by a long shot. I've not run into any serious issues with either version of the game. I don't deny that there are issues out there, however, I think that a major issue people are having is that it's not like GT or Forza. It's not meant to be and I'm pretty sure a bunch of people have never played a SIM RACING game like this before and are calling it broken as a result.

What wheel have you got?

Luckily I've got a CSW V2. I feel bad for the guys who are having issues with some of the other Fanatec wheels and I hope SMS and Fanatec can come up with a fix soon because this game is crying out to be played with a wheel that works well. Hopefully that fix arrives quickly and you guys can enjoy the game because it really is epic.

The Codemasters F1 series is so bug ridden it ain't even funny.
F1 2010 had a rocky launch with a few critical bugs, most notably one that greatly favoured AI competitors if you made your pitstop on the same lap as them.

That being said in terms of wheel/controller support it was pretty solid from Day 1.

Subsequent games had minor issues but weren't as "buggy" as 2010. The main criticism the series has gotten is that the core game didn't change much from 2010 through to 2014; the physics engine underwent some minor updates but other than that each year's release was basically a roster update.

(Comments based on my experience from the Xbox 360 of F1 2010 version, I believe the PlayStation 3 version had some notable graphical issues at launch.)

First few months of GTA "Online".
That's not really a "game" and it was only server issues. The game itself was perfectly fine at launch. GTAV PC on the other hand... Either way it isn't even a racing game.

I'm on the PC, and I gotta say, the only things that happened to me were the game crashing to desktop twice (once because my graphics driver crashed, so that's not solely due to PCARS) and my button assignments getting deleted once. My Fanatec CSR's working fine as well.

Racing games that were worse at launch? Shift 2, definitely. I'd say GT5, too, even though I might get some flak for doing so.

Non-racing games? Dozens. Literally.

TDU2 also had massive behind-the-scenes drama after launch as Atari slowly went under and cut budgets. At one point the game's developers all walked out in protest, and people had no idea if the game would ever get fixed at all, nevermind quickly.
The shame of it was that the game itself was very good underneath all the problems. By the time everything got ironed out months (and in the case of DLC, years) later, the community had bailed.

S4A
TDU2 had massive server problems for the first couple of months. Pretty much made it a disaster as far at the MMO aspect went.
Still is a disaster. I don't play it anymore since mid August because my hard-work save data corrupted :( I was crying for a whole day :(

Driveclub was appalling at launch but is a good example of how a title can be turned around.

As far as truly bad then TDU2, Big Rigs and Driving Emotion S all spring to mind (and the last one was a PS2 title so no hope of being fixed via patches).

Personally pCars is far from even being a bad release, yes it does have bugs and its not the best looking thing around, however being more than aware of the size of the developer and what they had to work with that doesn't surprise me at all. I'm getting a silly amount of enjoyment out of it despite these, and yes SMS do need to keep engaged with the community and get these resolved.

What happened with driving emotion type S? I was a kid then but I love that game from memory.

The controls were just plain nasty and make the issues people are having with pCars seem minor.

Its was difficult to control the cars for the sake of being hard, with a tyre model that was like driving on pCars cold tyres all the time.

Indeed, I remember it well. Seat of the pants feeling all the time :lol:

I don't think so, Shift 2 was worse so they are improving but seriously Test Drive Ferrari Racing Legends is by far the worst one
I've got it and it's a solid and fun game, never had any issues with it whatsoever. It just worked right out of the box. Admittedly not a game for everyone, but it's the very best Ferrari themed game so far.

.....Test Drive Ferrari... What was that? How did this game come into existance? Why is it sitting on my hard drive?
It was made back in the Shift 1 days, with Atari as the publisher. For some reason it was released years after it was made. Only you know why it's on your drive :)

As for bad releases: The Crew.

Network code is still broken for this driving MMO. The main purpose of the game doesn't work for a lot of customers (tens of thousands), and Ubisoft doesn't acknowledge the fact. Ubisoft support is non existent.

Same here mate.

I can't recall a game release that had so many issues on release on a console.
I don't believe the people who had their garages deleted because they did a machine test while owning the original GT2 release would necessarily agree.

And, like Auto Modelista a couple years later, the Japanese version was even worse than the export one.

Didn't GT6 also have an issue with cars disappearing from the scrapyard or whatever that thing was called?

That's Next gen for you, broken and buggy games being released then fixed via patches.

Don't know about next gen, but that may well apply to current gen. We also have some pretty big hissy fits from people when there's a delay for a game though. Sounds like lose/lose for developers to me.

Maybe in the end they try to spread the load between the two, and maybe it's no surprise that game incompleteness and gamer cynicism increase proportionally.
