It's certainly a good looking car, it's nice to see jaguar are getting things right again.

The site I read estimated it to be around 50,000GBP which is around $80,000, I think.

What gets me though is that this car was touted as Jaguar's affordable, entry level car. But, if it's going to start at $80,000 though, it might as well just be the new XK as you can pick one of them up for $85,000. It almost looks like Jaguar would be pulling an Acura move.

I was expecting a price around the 30k mark. That'd put it in competition with the Boxster and Z4.

It's a bit like a box, is it not. Would be much better if they just kept the car exactly the same as the concept, then it'd be brilliant.

I dreamed about this car before it was announced! Seriously weird, but if the car is 90% as good as the C-X16, it'll be brilliant - and about bloody time Jaguar! Not that your recent other works haven't been good either, but yeah.

Jaguar confirmed the F-Type will feature a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine.

Both engines will be paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic transmissions and the V-6 will also benefit from engine stop-start technology.

Starting with the supercharged 3.0-liter V-6, Jaguar says the engine is based on a similar design used for its existing supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 and that it will come in two different states of tune: 340 and 380 horsepower. The 380-horsepower version will be reserved for the F-Type sports car. Key features of the design are direct injection technology, variable valve timing and aluminum construction.

The CX-16/ F-Type looks set to be an incredible piece of machinery, I can't wait to see how the production model comes out :)

These renderings are probably a good indicator of what the F-type will look like. And I think it is fantastically beautiful!

Have to say, I think it looks a complete mess.. I seem to remember the concept looking alright, but this... not so much.

Do we not already have a thread about this? Guess not.

Well, I think that the F-type is fantastic. It looks good, should be great to drive, and is generally awesome.

The front is gorgeous, the profile is neat, but the back looks like some sort of fictional Hotwheels car- that isn't a compliment. Still, a nice array of engines and transmissions, and an interior that makes the XK's look medieval is enough to sway me away from those weird taillights.

I absolutely dislike the rear. Front looks neat, but the back, especially from the side, is horrid in my opinion.

Maybe Jaguar are in the niche-filling mood. Have an F-Type R and possibly an F-Type RS? Why not an S in between? 💡
Or of course, it could slot below the R, which is likely.

Awesome, jag at the best in 20 years imo. So tired of the xk.
