This. I think we've all tuned for offline anyway so it's a no-brainer.

Yes, yes, of course. But more relevant to the time of this post…dafaq are you doing, up so early? You got your job?

And now…or rather, within the hour, I shall reveal my 2 entries. :D

So it's all a moot discussion then right.

Well…yes and no. Since we don't know if PD has gone and magic'd the system again as usual with them, it may be useful to check every now and then. But apart from that, yup. Utter waste of time, that convo. :dopey:

I finished my course, but I've heard nothing from the employers yet. I've got an interview with my job adviser in an hour so I can keep getting my chav money in the mean time.

Alrighty, time to finally face the music and get my final 490pp tune up, this one goes out to my main man Roj for making me laugh at KiA....:D:D:D

Notes for testers,

Be careful when braking into turns from high speed (Suzuka turn 1 sweeper), if braking and steering into turn the rear may slide, left foot brakes and feather throttle, no dramas

car has been set for manual shifting, and short shifts work well, you do not need to change ratios at all leave them as set for both circuits. you will never ever need to get into first gear once moving.

set ABS-1, all other assists off

I set the car up with a DS3, and then fine tuned with DFGT.

My own personal best times......:nervous:

Tsukuba 1:01.311
Suzuka 2:19.609

Enjoy and good luck, I hope testers enjoy this easy to drive car.:scared:

Unchanged from when I last drove it..??

Y'all know that online lobbies are gonna be crammed with 500PP Scoobies for like evvvah..!! :sly:

Yea, it seemed to drive well as it did, and I don't recall anyone being killed, so I went with it. Were you expecting me to use that lovely diff you sent over? If so, yes I will, but a shootout is about my skill, so no taking from other people.

The irony in me saying that is that the damper settings were set like that after a conversation with Roj…so much for DIY, eh?

No, no, no, wasn't expecting you to use the diff settings, was hoping the car was the same as the last time I drove it. I'm ... errrr ... gonna have a bit more of a fiddle with that diff after ... errrrrm ... talking to Roj

This concerns me a little :scared:
This I'm much happier about :sly:
Gonna be a tight and interesting contest 👍

Not a fan of Tsukuba but it is short enough that I can hammer out tons of laps getting me closer to the limits of what a car will run.
Suzuka just 🤬 sucks! Hate the track and don't think I've ever managed to put together one complete lap that I would call solid there. I know my "DMWG Phase II" should be good for close to 2 seconds faster at least in the hands of a clean driver as I've been that far ahead of my ghost for the listed time before messing up somehow and losing it all.:drool::(

It's just you. :P As you should know, I 🤬 love Suzuka, so there. Just pass me the keys, I'll run it and see how it does. 👍

Both my 490PP and my 520PP cars are on share.👍👍
Should have my 550PP car finished and on share this afternoon.

Run half as many laps at Suzuka as Tsukuba and you'll change your mind, probably.

Tsukuba, though I love it, is 3 U-turns and a minute long, everybody is good at it.
Suzuka, while not an incredibly difficult track, is just hard enough and just long enough to steer a lot of drivers away from it, myself previously included.

I loath both tracks, Tsukuba because PDiddy insist on using it so often, Suzuka for the reasons CSLACR listed above. Not as technically difficult as some tracks, but still tricky enough just long enough for you to stuff it on the last few corners, inducing rage quits :sly:

They still do in seasonals, it's like they have personally appointed a few tracks as "fan favorites".

Oh do shut up Cy, that track is brilliant and deep down, you know it. :P

Also:

Clicky 'ere for the last few days to deadline 550PP entry.

And yes, Ryan, that means I'm out of the 520PP class.

Amazing. You even put Pucca in there. Are you trying to earn some bonus points from me? :P

I've ran plenty of laps at Suzuka and officially rename it Su-suck-a lot. Has weirdly bad traction compared to most real world tracks. The S-curves at the start are the most interesting portion of the track while the whole second half seems to have been designed simply to try and create as many off track excursions as possible. In fact to be honest I love the ?east? track version of the track where all you have is the S-curves and the front straight.:odd:

The Nordschliefe is way longer but has genuine character and its challenges induce you to keep coming back looking for that perfect run. Suzuka feels blah and merely induces frustration and rage.:yuck:

I'd have to agree!
I have an unhealthy love affair with the Nodschleife. It's cause of plenty of broken nights and hours of sleep never to be recovered in search for that perfect lap.

Suzuka isn't that bad though.. it plays out very much like a touge run. Take into account the random and frequent altitude and camber changes on the road, adjust throttle accordingly and you'll see yourself careening off the road less and finding tenths around every bend.

Of there's one thing Gran Turismo has fought nw throughout the years, without the racing line, observe the skid/tire markings on the road and you can judge where to put down the grip, when to brake.. Or at least when's the latest you should be braking going into any corner.

Suzuka's big bend after the hairpin, as well as the spoon after said bend are key points to gain those extra tenths. And you will see those tire marks.. It's up to y'all to judge.

I always thought the best line through that bit was just to keep the damn thing pinned to the inner white line and brake as near to the tarmac strips before Spoon as you dared.

And where are your entries, Mr.snake? :dopey:

The perfect line by the master. Braking spot is just a few later for ´89 F1. For GT5 road cars ,points like the tarmac strip before spoon or the distance indicator panels are very easy to identify, but driving line and throtle control are very close.

Thanks Mr Senna.👍

Well, you can't argue with that. Though how I'm going to do that kind of lines with a blunt DS3 with no accuracy at all is beyond me.

Masterful though…2 and a bit minutes of art and talent.

@Praino thanks for the video amigo great stuff.👍👍

While I can never dream of hitting those lines so perfectly I must say that watching that video and my replay of the 2:15.3 I ran in my 520PP car I got it a lot closer to right than I thought.:scared:
I especially liked seeing him riding the car up on the curbs through and out of some of those corners, let me know that it wasn't bad driving on my part but the best line on the track.

Well I've settled on a car for the 490PP part..Now just gotta find ones for the other two PPs. Car vital stats as of now are 395 HP - 1250 kg - 4WD. Almost ready with the tune.

Well as you saw in that video, you go a bit wider in the middle part of that bend then hug the inside briefly before preparing to brake into Spoon.

As for my entries.. I have a lovely 520PP WRX that i've finished. For 550PP I'm revamping my Ares Touge God setup for this shootout. Reworked the Suspension, changed the gears slightly and adjusted the differential substantially. It's been running consistent 2:11's but I feel i can still juice half a second from it.

My 490PP car is giving me headaches :ouch:
It's a '91 FD3S Type R (premium). Having a hard time maintaining consistent grip. The turbo on that thing is laggy AND peaky. Though once I get into the flow of it, it's so much fun... but not that fast. I'm thinking of using a different car, maybe a lower power version of my S2K touge setup or the Lan Evo IX GSR i just recently tuned at 500PP, but with fewer parts.

I have 2 days to figure this shizz out

wait a sec... don't you owe me a review?!
I still have that beastly GT1 Turbo on share. I can't even drive it myself. Since it's on share, I cant edit it, tune it, drive it or anything... Would I be able to use it in Arcade Mode? Where's the fun in that if I can't use it to destroy McLaren F1's, Veyrons and RX-7 TC's at the Nordschleife!?
