NFS Shift is only £3 used right now, is it worth picking up just to screw around with the livery editor? I'm not a fan of the handling in the game but for £3 I can tolerate it for the livery editor.

I'd like a simple editor in GT6 at the minimum. I don't expect something to rival Forza, but something like GRiD's system would be fantastic.

From my experiences with it, it was just about the single most frustrating to operate in the game apart from the actual driving. I was hoping for some pre-made liveries like there was in Most Wanted, but hey…Only issue I have is to replicate the livery on both sides…still don't get how to do so after so long with it. Mind you, I was 12 when I used it, 2 years ago. My patience has grown in those 2 years, so I don't know, maybe it'll be better now.

One thing though, buy a R34 GTR, do all the performance bits to it, and before you "RM" it, look at the power relative to its theoretic top speed and just laugh. 750ish HP and a supposed 320+MPH.

Hahaha! That's ludicrous.

Like in Gran Turismo, I rarely raced in the fastest vehicle class online. Something about slower cars that's soo much more exciting and satisfying to me (300-550hp as opposed to 600+).

I had two cars with a couple thousand miles on them. In the tier 2, 10.0-rated class I ran the Lan Evo VIII (or was it 9?). And the tier 3, 14.0-rated class I ran a Race-Modded 911 GT2.. That was my baby!

I would run the CCX or Carrera GT in tier 4, 20.0-rated class depending on track.

It's such a shame that EA abuses their licensing of Porsche. They don't even get the feeling of RR drivetrain right. Not even close.

Tune exported from GT5 Tuner for Android.

(testing new feature of gt5 tuner app, I guess it works)

I am not really to happy about this , but i have to withdraw as a testdriver , my appollagies ( wrong spelling i know ) ...

Good luck to all the drivers tho keep it up 👍

That app has come a long way from when I first beta'd it. Aardvark is gettin' pretty advanced with the features now that most of the general bugs are worked out. 👍 Tune sharing was something I suggested BTW. *toots own horn* :D

It's decent. From basic shapes to sponsor stickers and some more complex shaped accompanied by the usual size/rotation/skew/etc. options.

Only downside is the cooler designs have a level lock. I think they've recently closed the online servers for it, so leveling up won't be as quick and easy. But, for 3 quid, I might put up with it since I sold my xbox long ago, so no Forza for this guy.
(I'm actually very biased against XBOX...)
Sounds alright then. 👍

Hopefully it'll be like every other NFS game where it'll be easy to unlock everything.

My PS2 gets turned on more than my 360 does and I do have Forza 3.

I have a bit of patience with livery editors, having to replicate the design on the other side is a bit silly though, especially as ProStreet had a mirror option and I'm sure Undercover did too. For £3 though maybe I'll be less frustrated than you were. :P

Fastest car ever.

Dude, very serious advice. Avoid Shift 1 like the ****ing plague. The physics is appalling. Driving any car over a speed of…say…the speed limit, and you're suddenly driving on ice. If anything, this NFS is like EA's response to critics of the street racing series, they make the cars handle like 🤬 at over 70mph.

I just checked, it was 492hp.

But it's £3 and has an E36 BMW and Escort Cossie. I hate Shift's physics too but anything is tolerable for £3.

Shift 2 is unfortunately still £13 used. Why can't more people hate it so the prices fall faster. :(

It doesn't matter what it is, there's no difference between a R35 and a E36 and a bucket of manure in terms of driving. The most fun you can have is a race on a figure 8 course with 15 other Scion TCs who spend the full 20 laps running into each other.

Yea…

Anyway on topic, after I'm done smashing my Scion TC to bits in NFS Shift, I'm going back to the sane world of GT5 and testing that other Scooby…DB's one, that is.

Figure 8 smashy smash? Fun! Would you say that it's worth £3 just to smash cars?

Also DaDog's and ACSR's cars tested and posted. 9 cars to go! 👍

Bought Shift 2 about the same time I got GT5. Was frustrated because of the difference in controls made this old man a horrible driver in both games. (Trying to use the wrong inputs on the other game...:dunce:) Also had issues with the fact that I spent my in game money on upgrades for my car only to find out that it didn't qualify for the races my level allowed me to run anymore...then found I didn't have enough money to uninstall the upgrades so I could run races and earn more money.

Might see about getting it again or another game so I could do more customization to the cars and their paintjobs.

Liked Midnight Club L.A.s Customization and tuning options but the game hated my PS3 and kept locking it up, plus I'm not wild about racing on streets full of traffic and having to dodge cops every 5 minutes.:odd:

I use X/Square on GT5 and L2/R2 on NFS ProStreet. Switching between the two games destroys my ability to drive properly in either game.

MCLA was awesome. The lock-ups were understandable, as the game loaded the entire map of LA so you wouldn't be loading it in while driving, which pushes the PS3 a bit. I do love street racing though. Drive it like you stole it!

thank you , very nice time ... also thank you for the feedback , i will defenatly continue with this car after the shootout , might try it at some touge racing ....

Finally got some time to hop on Suzuka and do my 5 laps - let's just say the wait was absolutely worth it. Saved the ghost replay so I'll be able to load and compare it to the other LFAs :)

acsr421's car is up next.
edit2: suzuka later, tired, want to give the car my best.

Man, I thought Nissan had it good with PD.

Never liked Shift. It looks OK but it is just boring and sloppy to play. Car selection is a bit recycled from every NFS since Most Wanted too. Never played with the custom liveries but maybe I'll do that one day when I'm realllllll bored. Maybe.

If Most Wanted was on PS3, I'd be playing that instead, but as its not and Carbon is a buggy lump of poo, ProStreet is the next best thing. :D

I've been having fun with the vinyls, made a couple of semi-replicas. Shame there limit on how many vinyls you can apply is so low. :(

In relevant news, I've just tested ACSR's RX-7 and DaDog's Hawkeye is up next today.
Excuse you, Carbon was one of the 3 best NFS games ever for me. :P
I must have played through that whole game 6-7 times easily.

Shift is 🤬 awful, if you didn't like Carbon, I can't imagine how much you'll hate Shift.
Buggy? You'll see...;)
Send me a FR and share your bobs. I've got my grinder setup again in anticipation of hosting another shootout in the near future. I've got it wired now instead of wireless so it should run all night and day while I'm at work. 👍 I alway have one of your accounts on my PSN so whenever you can get on the other...
Sure :)

I can't believe you ruined the tuning / testing talk to discuss an EA game like Need for speed...... but seeing as you're going there imo every single need for speed that was released after most wanted was more terrible than the next......

drift on pro street anyone? I know lets take our slot cars out and swing the back end round..... wannabe tough guy canyon racing on Carbon = FAIL,

playing need for speed undercover in a tuned Bugatti Veyron doing 280mph and having some cop suv ram me off the road!??!!!??!!!???
why??? oh caus' he engaged NASA to make his run of the mill Ford territory do 400mph so he can chase down fools in Veyrons.... = not even close EA try harder!!!!!

Sorry guys as you can see though that series really annoys me... I can handle Forza fanatics or R-Factor "it's more of a sim" nerds.... but NFS?
tumblr_lwtv7dTn3i1qc9r07o1_500.jpg

Really?

On the testing front

IK have 7 cars to go in the 490pp Range

Digital Baka tested ya Spec C.... good tune mate, very easy to drive and goes very quick. the rest of the feedback will be in my testing post when I have updated it.

You mad bro? :P

We weren't praising NFS though, your views on NFS is pretty much everyone else's, although I like ProStreet. :P

Sure :)

Yeah NFS Carbon crashed on nearly every loading screen for me. PS2 and Xbox 360 versions. PS3 might be better?

the one thing i found to be super hard was the pro-street super long races.. those were so ****ing hard for me... here drive 20 miles at 200mph+ and dont wreck.. go!

Thanks Ryan.👍👍

Looks like the "DMWD Phase III" ran out of magic for you as I seem to be bringing up the rear in 550.:(

Fluffy Bunny is back on share - Enjoy your time with the car, and don't forget there are two separate transmission settings.
