Jetlag - Prologue​

It was raining. Heavily. It was so heavy in Singapore that it even had a flood in a mall. Tanglin Mall to be exact. But luckily, we are not in Singapore. We are in Germany. So even though it rained here it wasn't until the extent of a flood. Anyway, luckily, the rain had pretty much stopped and there were just the cold breeze, blowing by.



Genevieve, our main character, was at a cafe far far away from the city, in Ahrweiler. She liked that particular cafe because the environment was calming and well, different. She was gazing at her Z4 as it had been away from her for a while, in the hands of RKM Motorsports as they were going to tune the beauty.

"Ah, look at you now! I miss you so much!"





As she enjoyed her cup of hot chocolate in the cold breeze, someone arrived at the cafe.



"Who is he?" Genevieve wondered.

Genevieve would normally mind her own business but that guy was not an ordinary person. He drove a Ferrari California, not a Civic. She then thought about a white California in the news... "D'oh! This guy's Matthias Verden! He pwned the rest of the people in the Polyphony Digital Cup!"

Suddenly, Matthias came up to her after getting his orders of beverages.

"Is that Z4 yours?"
"Yeah, it is."
"Is it tuned by RKM?"
"Erm yeah. Why are you asking all these weird questions?"
"If so, i'd like to challenge you to a pinkslip."
"Well oh well, if you sound so confident of winning, let's race."

Will Genevieve win the Ferrari, or lose her Z4 to a random guy? Stay tuned to Jetlag to find out!​

Chapter 1 - The Ultimate Driving Machine​

They sat down for a talk, and found out more about each others' cars. They agreed on the track and who would be first.

After a bit of driving, they arrived. As Matthias's Ferrari had a puncture in its tyres on the route, it had changed its tyres and some new rims.

1. Matthia's California
2. Genevieve's Z4



1, 2, 3, GO!



It was even, at first...



Suddenly, Genevieve experienced a boost and soon overtook Matthias!

"Yes!!"
"Her lead will be shortlived."



Matthias was sure right! Her lead was shortlived and he surged on due to power.

"Argh!"



Soon, Genevieve caught up.

"This'll be a challenge."





The California soon passed the Z4 and kept the lead.

"He's a challenge. Hope I overtake him!"



"Gaah! He's got the inside line!"



"Oh 🤬. She overtook me!"



""Wow, that S turn was very difficult to overcome. Luckily, I still have the lead!"
"That Ferrari's agile!"





But suddenly the Z4 had a boost and passed the California!

"Woo hoo!"
"*facepalm* I should've got a turbo..."



However, power took the lead again!

"POWEEERRRR! *replicates Jeremy Clarkson*"
"I need to win, I need to win!"



Due to the Z4's agility and lightness, Genevieve overtook Matthias!

"Yes! Hope I really win this!"
"Oh no..."



Genevieve gave it her all to keep the lead till the finish line!

"I'm going to lose definitely... oh no..."



""What the 🤬! I just won a 🤬 Ferrari!"
"Oh no.. I shouldn't have underestimated her... I'm Matthias Verden! I can still pwn the rest in the PD Cup if not this girl!"

After the race, Matthias handed over his keys.

Matthias was dialing his dealer whether his 458 was available for delivery and Genevieve was busy calling her best friend Carla over to drive the California back.

"Thank god that my new 458 was available for delivery! It's on the way here!"
"Ah, it's great that Carla's coming soon..."

After that, the girls and boys went back to their home.

At Genevieve and Carla's house...

They were chilling at the pool, talking about the race.

"Wow, the California's really fast. Doubt that it's stock!"
"Tomorrow, I really need to go to the Ferrari dealer. There's some damage and I want the original rims. Plus, I want a new paintjob."
"Mmkay. Need me to send you there in the Z4?"
"Okay.. My tummy's growling. Could you cook some lasagna for me?
"Alright.. i'm hungry too...

Interesting start. I agree with others that it feels rushed and a little short. Take your time and develop your characters, even just a little at a time. Looking forward to more.

Put more effort in your story and re-do the two chapters. Just saying.

Heck, my old fanfic may sound good to some, but I think it's way too messed up. Maybe it's the usual me who goes with high standards, but still, try giving more life to your fanfic. 👍

I like how you edited the second chapter, I think it's nice to see that you respond to any criticisms. Looking forward to the next chapter, and I just feel that you could have a "This is Genevieve", or "I am Genevieve", or something in the beginning of the first chapter. Unless you do a big piece of the history in the next chapter, anyway. Who am I to say redo everything, it's a nice story. Great work. 👍

Chapter 2 - Matt Black​

At the Ferrari dealer...

"Sigh, how I miss Matt.."

Genevieve and Matt were in a relationship. They were separated because of their education options. Genevieve's parents chose to keep her studying in the country, but Matt's parents chose to send Matt to America to study.

3 years ago...

"Wow, what did to do to her? It feels so much faster!"
"Just modded it a bit."
"Can you drift?"
"Sure can!"

"Wheee!"

"Whoa... this is a crazy curve.. is this a roller coaster?"

Suddenly, the song "JetLag" by Simple Plan came up on the radio...

"What time is it where you are..."
"I miss you more than anything..."

"You say good morning, when it's midnight..."
"Going out of my head, alone in this bed..."

Soon, Matt stopped the car and they kissed in the sunset.

Present day, Genevieve still daydreaming

"Hello, we have finished changing the rims and painting the car and repairing the bodywork. However, the paint needs some time to dry. Do you mind driving the FF for your replacement for the day? We'll come deliver the California and taking back the FF at your home."
"*woken up from daydream* Oh okay."
"Here are the keys to the FF."

At home...

"Carla, i'm planning to go to the USA to visit Matt."
"Hmm ok. Want me to go with you?"
"OK..."
"By the way, who's car is that?"
"Oh, it's the replacement car because the California needed time to dry. It'll be delivered here."
"Wow! It's the latest model from Ferrari.."
"Yeah! It's pretty cool."

Yeah, a bit, but the whole meaning is that she travels 'round the world to race. She has to take airplanes, so that pretty much explains the name "Jetlag."

Author's Note - After reading a criticism, I decided to change something. From now on, the Fan Fiction will be written in Genevieve's perspective.

Chapter 3 Prologue - Hello LA!​

In Los Angeles...

"Hey, my house is at 5 Fruit Ave."
"Oh okay, i'm pretty much nearby."

I was speaking on the phone with Matt, the guy that Zachary was talking about in the previous chapter. Oh, how I miss him...

At 5 Fruit Avenue...

*screeches to a halt*

He was waiting for me. But who was that woman? Before I honked to get their attention , I saw them making out. I opened the windows so that I could talk to them.

"Oh, hi. That was fast! Oh yeah, I need to introduce Margaret, my girlfriend. Margaret, this is Genevieve and Genevieve, this is Margaret."
"Hi, Genevieve."
"Hi Margaret! Hey Matt, it's nice to see you but I need to zoom off to my hotel soon. Thanks! Will see you later."

I drove off to the hotel in Little Italy with Carla...

"What the 🤬 happened?! I thought he still loved me!"
"Calm down Gen... let's don't care about that bast*rd...
"I'll try to, but he just cheated on me! Maybe our distance meant that we were not together already, but he didn't tell me that we were gonna break up!"
"OK... calm down..."

 

[Zach]
