thanks!! your lexus photo inspired me to try this sort of stuff. guess i didn't do too bad for the first time :D the color on the hood is a bit out of place though. just doesnt look right. didn't know what to do with it.took me one interesting and frustrating hour though. with this, i first applied linear blur, and then i applied the zoom blur and it turned out good. other than that, all the linear blur angles would just not have looked right. i'm starting to find the limitations of GIMP the more i learn to use it everyday. for the first pic, i wanted the motion blur to be curved a little bit to follow the contour of the road and, i don't know if it's just me, but i couldn't find any ways of doing it.

Did you do the CF hood in GIMP?

WARNING: We've got a new best GIMP person at GTP!

I never manage to make a CF hood, even in PS 👎

 Look at that hood!! Amazing man, I even thought it was from GT4. It has the exact amount, but not exagerated or unreallistic 👍. The rims and the black color gives a seriously weird look to the STi, a very interesting conversion. The batch in NY is great too, with that variety of powerful colors and blur.

yep, i did it with GIMP. i used the Newspaperprint filter from Distorts, set the screen to Intensity, then i used 'Line' for the Spot Function and played around with the angle, then i finished it off with Unsharp mask. and that was what gave it the cf color/texture and finish that you see on the photo right now. i wanted to do the hoodscoop (sp?) as well but i was worried, the way it was and the lighting on it, that it might not curve properly. it took me a while to get it right. and to tell you the truth, my left mouse finger is 🤬 (beep!,beep!,beep!) killing me!! :ouch: :ouch: I'm glad you liked them!! oh hey, have u ever done a curved blur in GIMP before? i tried and tried and i couldn't make it happen.

ps: playing around with the dodge tool really helps too :)

thanks alex!! yup, that hood is from GIMP. like i said, it took me hours and hours to finish this whole update. the hood was a bit tricky to do. i did it before with my supra update, just didn't turn out as noticeable coz it was from a different angle, and the lighting sucked. as for the black STI and black rims, i was going for the hardcore JDM tuner
look. I find it just made the car look really really mean and aggressive. which is what STI's are really about. I'm kinda tired of seeing them with gold rims. I guess it's unique in its own way. :)

Many thanks again guys!!!!!!!! :D

Nope, I don't even do it in PS, it's all about putting together the exact amunt of different blur which surpasses my skills...

Mmm, I use tha radial blur (Spin), and it works well. But the image needs to be deformed before aplying the filter, and this sucks. I forgot to write it in my past updates, in the Audi TT drifting by Arathorn... where the spin blur over the tarmac even had to be "compresed" in the right area due the perspective position. I'll never do this one more time, how stressing it was to do it in a reallistic way!!

oh my god. that sounds like A LOT OF WORK. this update alone took me how many hours already :( i still wanna try it though. i did try using radial blur too, but i didn't get it right. and i dont really know what you mean by 'compressing' a part of the picture. but thanks for the tip. maybe i'll give it a shot one day. doubt that i would though lol.

Yep, check out this. Originally the tarmac hadn't any blur, and I used the spin method. But in the right, the blur lines are much more near than the left area, where the perspective of the camera makes the asphalt "bigger". This detail doesn't seem important, but when I aplied only the spin blur, I've noticed something was wrong. That was the jackass method .

Btw sorry for posting this here :)

It looks good man, not quite as good as the technique that i use, plus, the way i do it is much much easier...but still very good job!

thanks for the comment ! but watch out, this is only the beginning. and if you're talking about your cf overlays, based on what i've seen in your gallery, i dont think so. remember, this is only my second time doing this.
developments can go faster than cars :D

holy sh.... i've never been here before. won't make that mistake again! this gallery rocks! theres pics are totally kick ass! dude you seriously rock!
