Where's the Panda?

Well, I have to say that Integra looks AWESOME!!!
Is the hood really dark blue like shown? And how did you get that tone of yellow? Channel mixer like you said, or hue? Everything in that shot is beautiful; colors, composition, angle, reflections, everything's so neat...
I can definitely see alex's work in there, very nice work guys.

i guess the hood is dark bluish. alex did that. i dont know how he did it or why. but i'm sure it's better than the original. and the yellow was a result of the photo filter and the saturation adjustment. glad you liked it! i also have a BW version of the shot, but i just thought the colored one looks so much better, why waste a great yellow paint anyways 👍 glad u liked it.

The Nurb shot is a good one, but it's a bit dark, and could use some color balance to make it more detailed.
The Trueno is not bad, but the hail's a bit small. I don't know how you do it, but if you could make the bits larger and slightly less opaque, it would probably look better.

PS: Hope you don't mind, I took a go (3min edit) on your aerial shot. I overdone some parts of it, but I really wanted to see if I could edit a decent aerial shot. Tell me what you think, it's my 1st scenery shot. And it's not even mine!!!

there are reasons why they were like that. the Nur shot i left it dark like that,
reason mainly is i added diffuse glow to some parts of the photo, secondly,
i wanted it to actually depict the darkness of the green hell, which is what it was known for to begin with. like, i added diffuse glow to the photo and capture rain threatening to start. i was actually gonna add some huge rain effects, but i couldn't get it right coz of the unusual angle, but you could expect me to actually do it one day :D i like what you did with the remix btw,
but i think you over did the brightness a little bit. now you got neon green trees, and i dont understand where the light on the car is coming from. it looks like there are police choppers flying in the air and lighting the car. Fugitive Evo! not a bad idea though. the way you made the tarmac on that part near the car makes it looks like it's driving over snow that accumulated on the road. not a bad touch at all. i just dont like how the trees turned out
after you've increased the brightness, or did u dodge them? i'm not saying they're bad, i just want you to see why i left the photo dark like i did. it was all about coordinating with the diffuse glow to get a weather and 'time of day'
effect, and at the same time i was trying to hide the bad textures of the trees. hope you understand where i came from, though your remix did open my eyes for ideas 👍 i want more! as for you, i think you should explore scenery shots too. it's always a nice relief and well, for me i find it very rewarding sometimes 👍 right now i'm trying to look for inspiration and time to do another one. anyways, i look forward to your own scenic shot one day :D i'm sure it will be good. cheers man!

PS: you're totally right about the Hachi. btw, just so u know, 'Panda' is actually a japanese term for the car because of its black and white color 👍 i personnally think it's a rat :D

Simmis: yes it is a default camera, but i panned it high to the level i took it from. i think it was the camera 54-40ish. cant remember 👍 glad you liked the updates! if i find an actual panda in gt4, or maybe i could incorporate one to the photo, i'll post it here  jk

TVR&FF: it's true, but in my mind, when i was doing that shot, i was thinking of when hailstorm is just about to start together with the snow. i made the sprinkles small btw as to not totally hide the car and the background. i did try every method and that was what i found best :D i still owe you for the rain technique btw. i've done a lot of other things from that very simple method of yours. thanks again :) but i totally agree with you though hahahaha, it just looks like a dirty old photo with powder dust on top of it

what i have for you guys this time is a stock photo of my Auto Union V16 Type C streamliner, shot in Rome Italy. i was gonna use it for the round 1 of the tournament, dont know why i didnt. i have a whole bunch of them and this is one of them, sitting in my HD for months now. i'm posting it here as it is for you guys to remix (it's safe to say that i'm challenging everyone to do it) and have fun with :). here it is. this is a resized version due to PB's way of having an 800x600 max size for photos after uploading, but i still have the original photo if anyone wants it. I call upon all members to have a go at this one and perhaps discuss what they had done to it. please post the remixed photo on your gallery so i dont end up with the same, different style photo here :D just give me credit for it 👍 thanks in advance and hope you guys have fun.

My Lancia Integrale update is coming up this weekend, specifically sunday
night :D

I totally understand you on the scenery shot, J. 👍
And like I said, that was a quick and overdone edit, but I really gotta try doing scenery shots, they're always fresh and different.

Also, I worked a bit on your Auto Union shot, it's in my gallery if you want to check it. :)

I think I'm going to give that photo a good editing! 👍 I love your Nurburgring aerial shot btw, how did you get that camera angle?

I think I'm going to give that photo a good editing! 👍 I love your Nurburgring aerial shot btw, how did you get that camera angle?

that would be awesome to see !! i can't wait! glad you liked the aerial shot. i can't really remember now if it was a default camera angle. i think it might be.
it's been in my hard drive for a while so i dont really remember :D sorry :( but gt4 replays usually give an aerial camera for that location around that corner,
so i say give it a run and you'd probably find it 👍

Arathorn: wait no more, because this is the update for it. the first one i actually did was that panoramic shot that you did with the cobra, i somehow managed to screw it up, so obviously i'm not gonna post it here, but it will come, your tokyo shot with the supra hiding inspired me a lot, so i decided to work on it, don't worry i have a lot of your photos saved so i'm gonna continue working on them. here's that shot from tokyo for now, i also added actress Parker Posey's (i know, i know) ad in the building. i'm hoping i did it properly. man, this update took a while to finish up. i editted pretty much every single building and lamps and what not, and added lighting effects to each and everyone of them, by individually selecting them and just coordinating with the angle, i also added gradients to some, if not most of them and also the entire photo. took me about 3 hours to finish it off. phew..
thank god i dont work tomorrow. hope you guys like it, but comments and criticisms are always welcome 👍

Original Photo by Arathorn
Special mention goes to him for taking such a great photo!

dont ask why i added that photo on the bulding :D but i think it just relieves the building of dullness. can someone teach me how to make a lamp out of scratch in gt4 and how to get a lens flare effect without actually using it? lens flare sucks.

There are plenty of "flare brushes" on Deviant Art
you can just download them and paste those brushes file into your PS directory
When you use brush tool, you can open a different set of brushes
then pick the one you have downloaded

Nice editing job! Very realistic 👍
I think the picture you have added can be bigger
or maybe you can advertise brand like "GUESS"
so your friend can become a fashion models .. Ha!

That is a brilliant shot! It looks so real, with the glossy cars and the reflections with the shadows and gradiants. It is 100% brilliance!

Great job jgda9rs!:tup:the shot is very realistic now but you could improve it by smoothing off some of the corners on the taxi's, apart from that you've done a great job:tup:

cheers

Great work on the colours and the lighting jgd9ars, anyway I hope you have unpacked your Xbox 360 by now jgda9rs.

thanks guys. guess the extra added pic didnt do too bad after all. too bad arathorn hasn't seen it yet, as i have another remixed photo from him. this time of his ac cobra. i dont have the original as i overwrote the copy, but you can find it in his gallery. i didn't too much to it, just cleaned up the car, then i added a little bit of motion blur to the background, played with the brightness and contrast, then i adjusted the levels curve, then i just played with the photo filter. hope you guys like it. thanks to Arathorn once again for letting me remix one of his photos. they're magnificent!

wow! that smoke is so realistic! and the reflections! and the tyres! and the blur! and the colours! wow thats one great shot, keep it up! 👍

thanks you guys. i didn't see anyone comment on this shot for a few days :(
wonder where arathorn is, he's been waiting for me to post these remix photos. hope he sees them soon.

Simmis: don't forget to credit Arathorn for this photo :) he did take that shot after all, i just editted it with photoshop. you should do a remix of some of his shots, they're awesome! oh must i mention the smoke was actually from gt4 this time 👍 glad you liked it though.

TVR: yes i agree with you. thanks for the feedback though.

Now for my long overdue Lancia update. i have so many shots of this car, and i have done most of them so many times (ask alexwrc), and all of them failed. so far i think this is the best one i have done, most of the other ones are just plain crappy. anyways, here it is. i still find the signal light area a bit weird and poorly textured.

Very nice editing on the Cobra, J.
I like the blur on the background, looks natural. But what I like the most is the way the light hits Bob in the face, reflecting of the goggles (or whatever that thing is called). Great shot by Arathorn, as usual in him.

Now the Integrale, that's plain beautiful. Car does look very clean, great work on the headlights. Also, the reflections and the light on the left side of the car look beautiful.
You managed to keep the extremely aggressive look this car has, even on a 'peaceful' location. Car's colors combine with the background in a smooth way, and good choice of framing on this one.

I just love this car to death ever since it came out on the market 'a while back'. I almost bought one 3 years ago (red one - the real deal), but the guy didn't hold the car for me for 3 weeks while I gathered the downpayment and I lost it to some punk who didn't know anything about cars, he just liked the fact that it was red and a 4x4.
And had his daddy's money to spend...

Very very cool. It's more than I was expecting. As you know, it's a pain to get a decent work in that place unless you want to spent hours of hardcore editing in PS.

So, this photo has a great balance between complex reflections and posibility of "quick" working on it. I have to say I really love the combination of colors with similar chracteristics, the brilliant and dodged areas, and the whole definition you got specially in all car details.

Finally you made a photo in the limit of "overediting" with a lot of contrast, but definitely it works.

So...more updates, nice:D
I wanna start with the Lancia...looks brutal!!! And all that "light" makes it look so real, I don´t know how to explain. I also like the "lowered" look the car has, have U change the suspension settings Jg?! Another sweet detail, the license plate, simple, but very effective!!

The AC Cobra...its a very wild shot!! Love those little reflections on the car, gives a very nice look. Great colors U have used btw:tup: Congrats to U and Arathorn of course.

Well done Jg!!

EDT - That Trueno on the previous page is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a MASTER SHOT Jg!!! + Rep if I could give it mate. Well done:)

thanks everyone! glad you guys liked it. well the car already looked good from the stock photo, but i still had to do a lot of work on it, like correcting the reflections and smoothing the lines. i used 8 layers on that one. took me a lot of time to get it right. not to mention the signal lights, i actually processed the colors in gimp to get it where it is right now.

Beerz: i know how you feel. it's happened to me before.
NTX: yes i did change the suspension settings. it's lowered all the way down on racing coilovers :D:tup:

here's a quick one, it's a battle pic between the usdm acura and the jdm honda integra. i know the white car looks a bit rough, but i wanted it to look like it was eating dust from the black car :D it was quite tough to accept the fact that the US version had better acceleration compared to the jdm model.

USvsJapan.jpg

i dont like how the advan RGII's ended up looking like gsr blade wheels in this pic :(

DAMN! that pic is HOTT!!! Dude that seriously looks like something that would be off a cover of a Best Motoring DVD. The rims do look like stock GSR rims but I think it works well for the shot. The reflection off the side of the car looks very realistic.

The photo it is very cool, and gives the feeling that the black car is doing the race with no worries, and the white car is giving all for all to wining and eating dust in the same time (frustration dust (wow, what a imagination I have)).
But I think you messed a bit the left headlight of the white car, but in spite of that, the pic is very good.

Hot battle shot Jg!!! Those rims on the black Integra are cool!! Still, I prefer the white Integra...I always liked more the agressive look of that car. Who won??

NTX

The shot is great:tup:,maybe a little less blur but there is so much action in it, but this......

:eek::drool::bowdown: amazing work this has got to be one of my favourite shots of yours yet:drool:👍
Keep up the superb work:tup:

Love the Lancia mate 👍 it looks really crisp
You must spend lots of time to clean up and adjusting tone
the ITR combat looks great too, the lighting on the rims makes it very real
also I like the reflection which is very simple to make the black looks good
one thing I notice is the reflection near the taillight
removing that white stripe may turn out smoother and more natural to look it.
