I love the game and all...but really stop saying it is 1080p (1920x1200) gameplay.....
it is not...

and you know what it is not 60FPS either....

SO really just be honest.

Actually 1080p is 1920x1080 and the game does run at 60FPS. You can see the difference VERY clearly between the race and the replay (which runs at 30FPS).

Umm, not 60 FPS? it's 60 FPS 99.99% of the time, and when the frame rate DOES drop, Vysync is lost, it's noticable.

We now know it's 1280x1080, and i think PD should just go the whole way and do 720p (or a tad less if they can get in some awsome shaders.)

but really, i'm still in awe about how many people can't tell the difference between 60 and 30 FPS, it's so obvious.

Don't care, and never did. I am too old for fanboyism anyway.

If 1080p and constant 60FPS is a MUST for a driving game to be good. Then I guess the 95% of people playing RFActor/LFS/Nkpro not with a 1080p monitor and constant 60 FPS should immediately stop playing.

I probably will have more fun playing RFactor on an ATM machine screen than playing some POS driving game at 1080p, 60FPS. :dopey:

One day I accidentally downloaded the "Jucied" Demo, I almost feel like calling my mom so I can deliberately let her talk me to death.

Sorry for the typo on the 1920x1080
I do not care if it is 1080p/60fps, that is not my point.

I just do not care for every interview I see that he says "it is of course 1080p/60fps"

It is not!!! stop lying...you know it is 1280x1080 and you know it drops frames with more than a few cars on the screen and has serious v-sync issues.

Make it 720p/1080i/SD for all I care but do not keep saying that it is unscaled native 1080p

It simply is not. It is beautiful and a great achievement in many ways. Just not native 1080p/60fps.

I'm gonna have to Call BS on this one, the framerate very, very rarely drops below 60.
It's the fact that it rarely drops that gets your attention so much IMO.
Compared to other games that also run mostly at 60 FPS (like Forza 2.) this one is actually very consistent, in Forza 2 you see framerate drops all over the place.

As far as the resolution goes, as i said... people just make too big of a deal of this, and have no idea what they're missing because they think it's so important.

Resolution stops being a priority as soon as you start making huge tradeoffs of what your graphics chip can and can't do because of it.

in the PS3's case i think the sweetspot is 720p or a little lower than that if you want to have more shaders.

You know you're a big hater when you get Kamus to defend GT5

Anyway, it is Native 1920x1080p and it is native 60fps. The garage screen is 1080p but the actual racing drops to 1280x1080p. The racing is native 60fps but drops a couple of times at certain areas of the track with certain amounts of cars.

But whos to Say when GT5 full is released there won't be any framerate drops and they will get that extra 600 lines of resolution for in game racing?

Well first of all, shut the 🤬 up nafai23!!! Your not making sense at all. Your making fuss about nothing. We all don't give a 🤬 about 1080p/ 60fps, hell i know you don't as well! So stop whining and stop spamming with all your nonsense!!! :grumpy:

Onto topic now:
After reading the article, im pretty impressed with what is Kaz saying. He said he will implement some elements onto the new Rumble controller to make the driving for real. The interesting part was when he said there could be an interaction between the PSP and the PS3 games. Like playing together even if there is a big visual differences. Too bad he didn't mention on the rear view mirror thing with the PSP.....

Sweet! Thanks for the link.

When I was reading the part where they asked about the 6Axis controller, and KY said it would be implemented but not for controlling the car. I'm willing to bet anything that they're going to use the 6Axis to control driver head movement. It makes sense if you really think about it. Tilt the controller to look around the cockpit when you're racing to see if someone is right beside you so you won't side swipe him if a corner comes up and you dive in to take the inside line. This would be very nice if they implemented it in along with the pausing of the game when you put the controller down.

It doesn't make sense to me. Think about all the people who drive with a wheel.

Do they have to hold a controller in their hand, while driving with a wheel, to look around? It makes more sense that, the looking around thing, is going to work through that new camera thing ==> eye blabla... (can't remember the right name).

It's ok for those to complain about others wanting to be able to take a look around when they have a 3-screen set-up! ;)

I want to look around even more, in the cockpit, look behind to the left and to the right etc... . Oh, I wasn't complaining. ;) Am I not right? How can we look around with the controller in one hand and the wheel in the other hand, even shift gears with a controller in one hand. :nervous: :ouch: Haha! :dopey:

Others can look around if that camera thing makes into GT5. :)

Tralalaliere. ;)

:)

By the way, kikie, do you have any videos of you playing GT5P Demo on your amazing setup?
Not while I'm actually playing but a replay. The room isn't big enough to put a camera behind me and not film the back of my head and I believe you don't want to see that. :dopey:

<snip youtube linkage>

Holy mother of all that's cool and likeable..
/me wants BIGTIME !..

Good thing the new cheaper versions are coming.. One in the living room with BC and 2 extras, just for GT5 multiscreen :-)

Man, all of the recent interviews i've seen regarding the game are so bad...

When one of your questions is if they're gonna use the PSP as a rearview mirror you know something is wrong.

yoy're right about that, the interview sucks when you think the stuff that gt fans (most of them anyway) would like to ask kaz.
the interview is almost entirely based on screen resolution (which is already known) and the use of the psp...

talk about wasted opportunities and lame 'reporters'.

Agreed! Of the last four "interviews" of Kaz and PD on GT5 and GT5:P... not a single one has ever asked, or at least published the question and response to:

"Will there be any official releases of GT5:P other than Japan, and if so, can you please give us some idea when they will be released?"

Because this is such an obvious question to want to have answered, I am now convinced there must be some kind of agreement that these interviewers had to agree to in order to be granted access, to not ask or publish anything about an official GT5:P release outside Japan.

Now here's why I think that's good news. If they really had no plans to release GT5:P outside Japan and told them as such, then these interviews would print that. if they have no plans, but chose not to say anything, then the interviews would have said the answer was "No Comment".

By not having even posted that they asked the most basic question always asked by gamers to developers, that suggests to me that they are being asked not to say anything or including not printing "No Comment".

This makes me believe they do have the desire to release GT5:P in the US, but may have some issues that are getting in the way, and or want to save that for a special announcement.

Worse case scenario, I'll be buying a copy online from another region, so I'm not sweating bullets... but I am anxiously waiting to get my hands on a copy!

Think about GT:HD and how they implemented the sixaxis to pause the game when it's put down and think about how many people having to hit the pause button because they're using the wheel? People who doesn't have the wheel will have this luxury and people with the wheel will have to do it other ways. Just like you're able to look around with the right analog stick in Forza 2 but with the wheel, you can't. Just because you can't do it with the wheel doesn't mean it won't be implemented into the control pad.

Also, PD is making a new wheel just for GT5 so I'm sure they'll implement something in there to allow players the ability to look around and see who's next to them before making a move to the inside line or whatever.

Hello? McFly??!? :dunce:

Well i have to agree as well. But i can't complain if they don't want us to know. Maybe they want to do a big surprise or something....But makes me wonder how the games are coming along....

As for the game, hehe. Well maybe there is a Japanese release of GT5:P here earlier than other regions. Asia would always be the first to get the title (although in Japanese) but i really hope it might be a download. Then everyone can just get it.....
