What, just in your car? :)
That would be even more ideal and I believe better for the series overall. :dopey:

So to summarise the things under debate:
Starting procedure - Standing or rolling? I vote rolling as Zach said, the torque rich cars will get away. I also vote full pace lap so everyone is sorted.
Qualifying - Seperate for each (current) or on race date have one room where everyone Q's? Personally Im fine with either.
Tire Compounds - The use one of each compound would be cool, and I'd like to see some tire conservation forced.
Hp vs Weight - Personally I like our fixed specs except for the Celica which needs more grunt. Too much variation will be a pain and I dont have time to set it up.
Race formats: I vote one long race instead of 2 with reverse grid, I cant race the next day.
Ballast: I think the current system is too harsh, just my opinion.

Things to add:
Teams championship?
Endurance races? (TC WC)

Oh yeah and more power, to just my car. :P

I seem to not be able to take the race distance poll down, so we'll take the next poll here on the op directly.

Race Distance set @ 200km to suit most drivers

I need you guys thumbs up & down for:
Soft/Med 👍
Med/Hard 👎

👎 I think the difference between Soft and any other tyre is too great. I can see accidents happening if grip levels are too different between cars mid corner.

That's all the fun of racing.

Mixing it with faster/slower drivers on different strategies and grip levels.

Oh yeah, I'm guessing there will be some car spec changes and I doubt Joe will forget, but we should probably use the '08 Subaru as the benchmark to compare all the other cars, since it can't get any faster. A good point Veloci brought up a while back.

I think the cars need a drop in power. 350hp should be a base. The Lexus doesn't need to be so overpowered either. And limit to 3 of a certain car. No more 8 or 9 IS350's running around.

👍 I like the idea of med/soft and you should have to use both during the race. It will add to the strategy a bit.

:grumpy:I like my IS350. It's pretty and sounds cool. When Zacks rx7 pulls up I wan't to bash my steering wheel into the ground. It's one of the worst noises I've ever heard.

My second choice would be the 08' Scoob

I dont agree on the power, these cars are already so slow in a straight line as they get up to top speed.
The power differences between some cars need to be sorted though, like the Celica which is underpowered.
Car limits I agree, but I think 4 would be ideal (2 teams per car).

Honestly guys for the car balancing I was thinking bring the whole field up by 10kg except for the 08 Cusco and I'm scared to say it, but the C-West Silvia. I've been running with plc in the mr-s and that car seems balanced as well. Imo the fast car on track is the Arta. We can still barely keep up with those cars and Seth is at 1200kg and Uga at 1250kg imagine if they drop there weight. I was thinking just +10kg for the Arta's to bring them closer with the pack too. If everyone agrees the Celica is underpowered we can add 10hp, but Skeng is still getting podiums with his 1200kg weight as well. If he drops his weight he will ckeck out too.

Says the guy in the 08' Cusco...

So Phil gets more HP and joe gets a weight advantage.

;)

I know that you've put the data into it J. I'm just messing around.

Lol, I was expecting that one. 👍 Actually Phil is in the Rx-7 so he wont be getting an upgrade.

Ok let's start the standing start vs rolling start poll!

Standing Start: 👍
Rolling Start: 👎

👍

I would like to do a standing start if the game sets the grid order appropriately. If so then 👍

If not then we do a pace lap side by side poll chooses which side of the track they want, breaks at start finish and no overtaking until you cross the s/f line.

I know a for sure way GT5 wont mess up the grid if we choose standing start a 100% of the time! 👍

Super GT uses rolling starts IRL. I say stick with that. The Garaiya doesn't go below 1175kg in the game ;) so it aint a lightweight like the Celica. I say spec the cars as low as they can go and don't do engine tuning or turbocharging to them unless absolutely necessary. I can get started with it as i have all the cars and I'm reasonably quick with them all but not overly quick in just one.

I think standing starts will end up in arguments. With so many on the grid and the ones at the back getting slipstream down to the first corner the braking zone will vary. I'm happy to test the theory in the pre season test event and make a final decision then.

Just from one race I can see the front runners are so consistent it will only take a slight knock to put someone out of the toe of the leader and you'll never catch him. It's then hard to penalise anyone as it could have been a series of ricochet's/lag that have caused it.

I understand sometimes there isn't the time in the day to qualify and the current system leaves those that don't heavily penalised as at the start they could be 10/15 seconds off the lead by the first corner but say you've not practiced/Qualified all week and you rock up to a race with a standing start. You start at the back and by the first corner you're in 3rd after doing some daemon late braking. You then run out of talent on the next corner and knock off 2 other cars because you're out of practice. Not really fair on the guys that have spent all week getting used to the track, the car setup, the braking zones, etc.

IRL the clerk of the course would not let you race if you've not completed at least 3 laps of the circuit in Qualifying. He'll even let you do 3 laps in another races Qualifying session but he'll then grid you at the back as it's not fair to the other competitors.

**Note to self - shut up!**

I think the Subaru is balanced from racing you, seems so to me. But I have not tested it so I wont go in depth on that.

Yeah the Arta is fastest, almost similar straight speed but through high speed corners and entry fast.

The Celica, now that needs some go, my RX7 was noticeably faster on the straight. Skeng is just bloody fast when he gets it right.

As for starts, I think a standing system is fairer to the rest of the field with less start gap and qualifying wont matter as much.
But there is more potential for chaos and the torqueier / rear heavier cars will get away. So Im on the fence.

I will say I am nervous on standing starts because I dont get much track practice..

Reading this makes me sad. :P

It is hard to pull off the rolling start the way we been doing it , it causes the grid to space out a bit more than we would want ( i think )

I think we should use a full formation lap and and not allow overtaking til after turn 1 .

Just a suggestion . Tdown for me .

The cars i cant really give a fair comment on because I havent driven them all . I tested the Silvia and the Celica and the Silvia was so bad it made the Celica seem perfect .

The Celica definetely needs as much hp as the rx7 and the arta .
