If the Garaiya's the fastest, it's probably because it's one of the few cars we allowed to get that stage 3 engine upgrade. The only car that really needed it imo was the Lexus.

Not really sure why we changed the Garaiya in the first place

T down. To tyres and start. Aka hards and meds, and full lap rolling start.

No offence Skeng, but the Celica doesn't need more HP. Before you had any success ballast you could run rings around anyone. At Suzuka you were 20kg away from max ballast and still finished 3rd. Yes your car is slow, but it's very lightweight. If it get a BHP upgrade, it needs more weight added to slow it down.

The Arta also needs a weight increase.

I'm fine with no other reg changes, provided we test and get them sorted and confirmed they are equal ideally before round 2

I hadn't considered that. Seems fair then.

I'm just recapping here:

Phil gets more HP
Joe get's a weight advantage
Skeng is too bad@ss so he get's no more HP and more weight added by default.

I'd like a 30 second head start. 👍

I would live with another 10 kg but the 10 more hp to bring it to 374 like the arta and rx7 is the way to go , its only fair , I think .

Look at any of the replays , I cant overtake anyone on the straights draft or no draft . Car is slowest in straightline by a large margin .

I'll respect your decision either way but I will have to consider using another car , If i was driving the Lexus for example I would of surely won a race .

Coming 3rd at Suzuka ( a race i should of won really ) isnt a fair example of the Celica because Suzuka isnt a hp/power/top speed kinda track .

Look at replays from Nurburg or Motegi you will see what I mean where the car lacks power .

If someone is behind me its like they have DRS , when Im behind someone I only accelerate when in the slipstream if I pull out to overtake they just pull away .

IDK if it's my gearing or what, but in the Lexus I can sling by the RX7 and Subaru's no problem. The Garaiya on the other hand seems to keep pace on the straights when I pull out of the draft.

What does that mean? Not sure. I trust you GT5 vets to make it the best class possible. This has become my #1 hobby :D

This is what I propose- use the Garaiya as a base. Test with soft tires. 350hp (no engine tuning or turbos) 1175kg (minimum weight). Then test the Celica at minimum weight (1080kg) and add power to it to equal the LAP TIME of the Garaiya, not the same top speed. Not all cars need to be equal at every track. So take a mixture track of long straights and tight turns- Suzuka as a longer track, Cape Ring South as a shorter track. IMO those two tracks always give me a base line to which other cars equal to them in times will be good through the whole season. After you test those two cars, try to make the S15 equal to them. If it needs 390hp so be it. But that car should be included and I think some of the faster guys should use it since they're better at tuning and have steering wheels. Not everyone in the field is of the same skill level in tuning, nor does everyone have a wheel.

That's a point, we're all forgetting about the hopeless silvia.

I think Seth is onto something here. Plus if we reduce the BHP, the top speed difference will be smaller no?

And yes guys lap times are the key. Yes it's easier to overtake on the straight, but if you quick in the corners, just out brake them!

Add 2 top speed based tracks, and the cars that are more difficult in the corners match them.

We should aim for the difference between the Arta and the rx7 let's say on a corner track, to be same as the difference between the rx7 and the Arta on a top speed track?

Then balance out the season so each car has the same number of strong events.

I figured we had unofficially given up on the Silvia forever lol, but if you guys are serious about using it (which is great), then we should probably use that as the base instead of the Garaiya or Subaru

Give it 1160kg (with ballast @50) and the most HP it can get. On soft tires it shouldn't be too bad. With a hell of a tune and a quick driver it will be competitive. It should definitely be good at high speed tracks with long straights.

Incident report for Monza rd took too long to for me to assess, so I cant response tonight to you guys statements but the feed back is great so we will take care of all these problems! 👍

Not sure if this was posted but how about 3 car teams next season , wonder if I can convince anyone to use a Celica and join me

If I understand correctly a primary objective of the series is to start with cars that have, to the extent that it is possible, equal performance and then use the success penalties to rebalance the field and make the racing more competitive.
The success of the current configuration is a function of both the existing car specs and to a great extent the skills of the current players in both tuning and driving. To properly compare different cars it is necessary to remove the significant variable skills associated with the driver. In other words we need one good driver (or maybe a couple of drivers to compare notes and ideas) to test all the cars and equalize them by using both HP and weight. If we don’t eliminate the impact of the player on performance in the decision making I believe that we will make changes based on bad information and some cars will be advantaged and some disadvantaged.

Very true, which is why some of the car specs changed "mid" season. We had some feedback from some of the faster drivers and tried to change them based on the common ground that they all had.

Hopefully we'll do the same during the off-season.

I'd go team Celica but the time difference between teammates would be too great lol. I'd like to join up with someone closer to me :P

I have the majority of the cars, believe I'm only missing the standard Subaru, mrs and silvia. But this off season I'll be testing every car to get lap times roughly similar on several tracks.

Im willing to test all the cars if someone is willing to send them to me :) I only have a few of them .

Lets just have some test days and we can get some data

Haha, you're about 1s quicker than me in the same cars, or so it was in GTRRL. So we already have the driver effect sorted between me and you.

I can send you the cars you're needing SkengD. I'll send you a friend request today. Let me know what cars you need. :)

I need all the cars except the silvia and the premium cars , ill accept your request after this psn maintenance .

I think you're full. I tried to send friend request a couple of weeks ago. :)
I have all the cars. :)

Fellas the op has been updated and now to move on to the next poll. Fill free to check my work just in case I missed a vote to be on the safe side.

Next poll: Car Density
3 cars <----👍
4 cars <----👎

The re reging is a good angle like Seth mentioned, but I'm not going thru the mayhem of making adjustments in the season do to inconsistencies, plus a lot of us don't want the cars to go slower and if anything but make them faster hence why I voted softs. As of now the Arta chassis will go up +10kg, and we can add the 10hp to the Celica via poll, but if they dominate pre season and up to Race 2 then will back it back down to 364hp by race 3. And you are right Skeng you have the speed to have won some races, instead of just getting podiums. I know Skeng is also stating that the Celica has low mph, but with 50kg less weight the Celica would find some additional mph imo, but I'm open to the arrangement. If you look at the standings all the Cusco '08 drivers are way down the totem poll, that's the only reason I feel the field should be dumbed down to their level. I only found this new speed at long straight away tracks due to my extreme settings, but this speed will not carry over to regular size tracks.. Plus I'm the only winner/podium driver in a Cusco '08 chassis. All other chassis have seen glory this season!
