it is when your used to them, but the first 30 odd laps you do in them feel so weird, they require such a weird driving style, like a go krt but different, you have to let the car flow through the corner, if you man handle it it feels fast but is usually very slow, the unfortunate part of my racing career is I had the worst luck ever, I never finished a non endurance race, I was plagued with mechanical failures or crash damage, I rolled an F3 at Sandown raceway at the top of the back straight, hit the kerb launched into the air then went for the barrier,

I noticed you like Greg Murphy, about 6-8 weeks ago I had a work trial as a crew chief/ race engineer with Kelly Racing for the Mars/ Shannon's car, but they had all 4 cars out in force, Jaques Villeneuve was testing the Pepsi car, got to have a great chat about F1 and sports cars, He thinks V8's are going to be the F1 of touring cars within the next 5 years, he loves the COF car, he's a lot faster in it too, I didn't get the job though, I kept telling the driver's they were useless, and my mum can do a better job...... which she could  10 years ago

How did you get an opportunity to drive a Formula Ford? Man with a rollover that must have hurt in the morning...
And the chance to be in the KR garage I dont even need to mention!
Wish I was Aussie, everyone here just wants to be a property agent or accountant/businessperson. So dull.

I don't know if it hurt them days, I don't remember anything from that morning till leaving the hospital 1 week later, well just bits here and there but nothing substantial I have 2 certificates in accounting  I did go karts, junior drag racing and junior speedway from when I was 6, the drags came in at 11, and junior speedway at 13, then I got the opportunity to do work experience for a small F3 team that was growing into Formula ford, Carrera Cup, and some other area's of high level motorsport, they seen I had some talent and got taken for the ride of my life,

it also helps when you did a years schooling with Rick

I would defo like to take part in this race. I will msg 1 or all of the race hosts tomorrow to find out more and let them know what car I'll be using. Looking 4wood to it :)

So the fastest time so far is 6 53? Well I've just done a 6 51 in the cusco subaru advan impreza 03. Expect to see me go 4 or more seconds faster when I get online ;)

Yes, I'm slow man. Not consistent lap that. Do take note that qualifying is a standing start though.

Just to let you guys know that we have more than 16 people signed up. At this point, the slower people that qualify/people who don't qualify may not be able to race, unless you want to race with just 2 or 3 people.

Just a heads up

If more than 16 drivers then the slowest few into room B. I have been at school at nights so my time table hasn't been kind to drivers wanting to qualify. If a lot of you guys are friends then qualify each other in the mean time and post each other times plz. I am open all Friday night thru Saturday until race day to get you guys qualifing in. Worse case scenrio if we have qualifying issues before the start of the race then we will qualify the regular way. Set the clock for 20 mins and then go at it. Any feedback on this is greatly apperciated as always'

I spun out 4-5 times in my qually lap, I still got around in a reasonable time,

if I see someone says they're online and looking to qualify I will watch them and record their time,

Only problem I see is fairness. The guys that qualified early get 1 chance, and the guys that qualify in the 20 minutes get multiple flying laps.

Unless, you penalize everyone who didn't qualify in time. And set it up like this.

Guys that ran qualifying in time. Get the top spots on the grid.
Guys that ran the 20 min session are placed after all of the above, but within order of each other. Make sense? Its a Win Win.

I've been online waiting for someone to watch me qualify. No one has. I ran a 6:47.xxx with the MR-S on a decent lap without full downforce. I feel I can go faster with more wing and a cleaner lap. So someone please try to be online tomorrow.

I vote up for this. By the way, should I max the downforce on my car? Will it help times a lot?

this update has changed that, depending on your lap time, if you expect to run in traffic all race then I suggest you do it, if you think your going to be leading a pack or being alone then don't, if you struggle to keep with a pack then don't either, you will need all the straight away speed you can muster,

Thanks man. Btw what top speed should the Lexus hit on the straights? I'm maxing out at 163, downforce 30 45.

I'm online now and will be until around 7:30 PM Eastern / 4:30 PM Pacific / 11:30 PM GMT

Send me a PSN message if you're ready to qualify. I'm not going to be checking GTP that often.

Hurricane Sandy ****ed my town up bad. I haven't had any power since Tuesday. Couldn't even charge my phone enough to get on GTP until now. i'll qualify/race if I can but I'm not sure if ill get power back by the weekend.
For the next weeks or months I'll be helping my neighbors and friends try to restore our shore. If anyone is near somewhere hit by Sandy please volunteer some time and help some families in need.
I'll talk to you guys when I can, hopefully it's soon

just witnessed sakery qualify, he did a 7.15.830 he spun in the carousel

I'll be signed on all day Friday, and mostly Sunday for open Q sessions for this weekends Nurburg Nord spot race. Hopefully Skeng & some other GMT friends can Q a couple of the GMTer's people while me Seth, Afelin, GTpanoz, and a couple of others can handle North America & Australia. People who can't make qualifing withen the next 27 hrs will have a 1st come 1st grid positons to sort out the back. If more then 16 drivers Afelin & I decided since no points are up for stake here we can split the rooms up evenly to insure everyone has a good race come Saturday Night'

Q Session Tires Selection: Medium

@ Others: Downforce will most likely improve your lap times, especially here

Fake Gangsta Die: It's a shame what happen to the East Coast and I've put in my donations at out local super market. Take all the time you need to get on your feet brother. The best of luck to you your family, and all others from the East Coast!
