I can't stand the backwards tuning in this game. I leave my tunes mostly stock and stiffen it up a lil in the springs and play with the toe angles and lsd.

coming from open wheeler's I've spent the better part of 10 years avoiding them at all cost's, its quite difficult to wrap my head around trying to "violate" them even in touring cars, and when I tested earlier today every time I went for that kerb it would punt me out the track like Steven Gostkowski!

Me, Veloci, Sin, and TnT did some sim races and I just watched the replays closely to see if you can get 4 wheels off at that curb (kerb) but you cant you'll hit the wall I tried a couple of times. So its still within the racing guidelines. Veloci did take the straights line thru that section without hitting them and still had some amazing corner speed so its possible tho, but I wont be taking his line using a ds3.

TnT: 1:41.982 <-- Ran his best laps on his qualifier, talk about a clutch drive!
Sin: 1:42.225 <-- Not his real pace, he just snagged a wall a bit to upset his time unfortunately! :ouch:

agreed Seth, I'm dead set against the "cartoon" set ups, I refuse to put them on any car in the game, My FGT oval set up is the very closest I would use on a Indycar, and it seems just as fast alone as many of the "cartoon" set ups I have seen and raced against, My Ferrari F1 car shares the very same set up as the last F3 I drove, and at most tracks I can hang with the top guys from the F10 league, if I went "cartoon" set up I would easily keep up,

Havent done any practice ill be on late tonight uk time to get some laps in , tune and hopefully qualify.

Qualifying times updated. 4 people so far.

Sinladar, did you also qualify in the Premium Subaru for this race?

I have been avidly following the tuning advice and to say the least I am completely confused. I took Wartez's advice and set up the IS350 using Yagabond tune and managed to get my times down into the 141-142 range but will get run over by the fast drivers. It would ber nice to know how he set up the transmission. I will try to get qualifying in today.

I'm now online available to qualify you guys.

I decided to put in a couple more laps before I check in since I just got back from work. Tried the 35/42 downforce balance ugabugaz suggested and I got down to 39 flat, but then I went back to full downforce and tried Vagabond's tune here:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=6024249#post6024249

And now my pb is 1:38.524. I do like how 35/42 loosens the car up a bit but my style's much more in line with the way the car feels at full df I suppose. And I only got a 3mph advantage at the end of the straight anyway so I don't think it's worth it.

Seems like a good setup but I would be worried at the amount of front camber seeing as this is an endurance race. You might wanna see how it affects tire wear. Glad you went quicker with less downforce, at least initially :dopey:

Why is there so many Lexus? I thought the line up would be limited to a certain amount of racers per car.

Well it should of been limited, and if its faster on all the tracks then it's not been spec'd correctly. There's going to be about 10 on the grid, what's the point of all the other cars?

There is success ballast...Plus while it's fast here it might not be fast on other tracks.

PSN message me when you're ready to qualify. I'll be on PSN for a while, maybe not on GT5 but I can get on GT5 anytime.

I have a question - Will a brand new car running at 400bhp be faster or slower than a broken in car running the same specs?

My plan was to quali today between 4pm-6pm CST. On a job site right now with a major migraine, not sure if it's gonna go down.

I'll try and get it in sometime this evening.

I didn't realize the game had this logic on the cars. What are the parameters around this feature?

Milage sweet spot, chassis, etc...

Should I be changing the oil before each session?

A broken in car at the same horsepower will have slightly more torque, I think lol

Actually, I can't really remember. Sorry lol

I think you need like around 150 to 200 miles on a car to be fully broken in or something.

Qualifying times updated.

Well i keep seeing in different threads people saying they need to brake there car in before the race etc.

My question was about the difference it makes, if any and wondered if anyone new.

Also, if i start the race tomorrow with my car as it is, i will finish the race with about 418/420bhp.
