July Car Pack

You know how they give you a Fiat 500 as a level prize? And it's White with red stripes on the side? Try painting it the factory metallic beige color, ie. without the stripes. It's not possible. You have to buy a new one. This is true of all the cars with a second colored vinyl/paint stock. When you change through the factory colors, the second color doesn't change. The only way to change it is to paint over it, but what if you want it metallic? Sorry, Turn 10 didn't make metallic vinyls.

Now paint a design on one side of a car like the Toyota Yaris (There may be worse culprits, this is just one I know it happens to). Line it up with all the creases in the body work and any edges. Now use the "copy to other side tool." Wow! I can't believe how easy it was to copy my paint to the other side and paste it 5 units below where I wanted it! Thanks Turn 10!

Speaking of the Yaris, if you bought the Yaris as the starter car, or any of the other pretuned cars Turn 10 so helpfully made for us, don't bother trying to transfer the setup to another Yaris from the store. They're considered two different cars because they only didn't up the PI with upgrades; they just changed the figures of the stock car. Good idea Turn 10!

[es], I haven't heard of that yet, but I do remember that happened in Forza 2. Also, I believe the first two have been present since Forza 1. Thanks Turn 10 for working so hard to improve the game instead of just figuring out what DLC will earn the most money...

Anyway, this is probably a topic for another thread, and I'd be happy to take it there, but I needed to vent my frustration...

One of the things I always thought Forza had on GT, was the distilled car list. While Yamauchi clearly knows car history, but he always put in a bunch of shopping cars and millions of variations of japanese sports cars among the few good ones (Incidentally this is something Yamauchi has gotten better at with GT5, like adding Ferrari and Lamborghini).

How many Forza's has then been since GT4? You are right thought I always though GT biggest gripe was its made by Japanese, that (in the past) did not recognize what Americas and Europeans wanted in a racing game. Turn 10 is different, they listen and their goal was to have everything GT did not, they were clearing aiming for GT rather than building their own racing game(like Kaz did). But in fairness you can't judge Kaz for what he wanted in GT4, only thing FM had on gt was Ferrari and Porsche. It may or may not been available to license, remember even NFS had a long stretch where they did not have Ferrari in their games. There hasn't been a full GT since GT4 so its not really fair to compare(yet).

You can now see what class the cars will be in and their power ratings. Mostly, F class with a couple E class, B class an A class and an S class tossed in.

This is very annoying. I wanted a 500 that was like mine, all white. But I had to buy an entire new one since the wing mirrors weren't the right colour! I also wanted one in red with white decals but had to buy a new one for that. :yuck:

What car do you guys think they'll pick as the free bonus car?

Colt according to their page.

I cant wait to have the Mclaren in my hands! Im going to buy 2 of them, one stock and im going to transform the other into a MP4 LM! , papaya orange and a nice wing just like the F1 LM.

Not directing this entirely at you, but I'm baffled at why people do this. It's very easy to have 1 car & have the game store multiple variations for you.

My SV has about 3-4 different liveries, & 2-3 tunes for it all without needing multiple cars like you would in FM2.

Because i like having my street versions, racing versions, different setups and liverys. Also i have lots of desings and the game loads horrible slow when i check them.

Also, i have the money so i dont mind :P

I love the CTS Coupe!, it has proper tire placement unlike the odd looking Sedan. The wheels are too far inside the wheel wells giving it a goofy look. I checked the real life car to compare and its like 2 inches off. Enough to make it look odd... that or fenders are too wide. I guess i get more excited for cars that have not been seen in other games. Like the C63 and CTS-V Coupe.

What a shame, the Eclipse gts V6 is classed lower than the Colt.......

The Kia was a surprise though, at least for me anyway. I found the car to be a lot of fun to drive, and in all honesty, its really only in need of some minor touch-ups to be an excellent FWD sports car. I'd think that losing 200 lbs and gaining about 20 BHP would make it about perfect.

Yes, I'm so happy that their doing all these car packs when they could, you know, fix s**t like the lack of working dashes in some of the race cars.👎

Come on, T10, I'm losing faith in you guys!

I'm glad Turn 10 are working so hard on these profit-earning DLC packs instead of fixing the two tone paint glitch and vinyl alignment glitch and pre-tuned starter car glitch and all the other bugs that make playing this game so frustrating...

Glad to see that people get it ;)

Somebody used one in A/E Multiclass last night and it performed very, very well in E.

Note to self: Once GT5 releases, be sure to go in every DLC thread and rant about adding interiors to 800 cars and fixing the brake lights on the Ferrari California

So glad im not effected by any of those mentioned issues...... or GT5's. Some can enjoy both games without complaining about non sense..

As of right now the only cars from the July's pack im buying is the CTS-V Coupe and C63.

Like you, majority of this stuff doesn't really both a lot of us (look around, and for the most part you'll see only valid complaints, but steer clear of specific threads as they tend to go off beat after three posts).

As I've said since I started playing, to me, FM3 is the best Forza to date...and I'm genuinely serious because it's the only one that didn't begin to bore me until after I had reached Lv. 50, and not at the mid-30's like FM 1 and 2 did. The only real problem I have with the game as a whole is that ridiculous driver level bs. They really need to axe it because once you reach the top level it feels empty afterward.

Ok, I'll admit this wasn't the best thread to complain about Forza, but I was frustrated that day. :P

So now an on topic question. If I were to buy all the DLC for this game so far, how much actual money would it cost? And which ones would you suggest are the most important to get?

400pts per pack, 400pts = $4.99. There's seven packs out now, I think, or this may have been the eighth. 5*8=$40.

Hot Holidays (Instant "duh" :P)
Autoweek
Jalopnik
Road & Track (If only for w427, E63, and the Golf R)
Exotic Car (Another instant "duh")
World Class

You'll notice I didn't really mention the packs I didn't/still don't really care for as only 1-3 cars from the pack made it into my garage.

None of them are important, your life will go on fine with or without any of them. There is no reason to buy a pack for "no reason". Give your self a reason to buy it, sometime you have to form your own tastes. Otherwise just buy them all blindly, for no reason.

It does suck TO THE MAX you still have to use in game cash to buy the cars you just spent real money on. And some of them have ridiculous prices.

don't forget the Nurburgring track pack.

Noted. However, in my opinion the track packs are the biggest waste as they aren't integrated into the single player experience whatsoever. As I've said at least ten times already, I could do without another track (regardless of what track it is) if it isn't going to be implemented properly. The single player portion of any game (unless it's specifically multiplayer-based such as WoW, MAG, or any MMORPG) has always been the most important to me as I'll always spend the most time in it.

I dont think there will be many "opposed" to additional tracks. There aren't that many track specific races to begin with. I did not get the Nurb GP track pack because, its just not worth it. .

Very true, indeed. That's one thing (of many) that Forza and GT undoubtedly have in common - all these tracks and in career mode you only race on about 6 or 7 of 'em.

Just as an aside, Turn 10 actually got the brake lights on the California right.

EU regulations prohibit brake lights attached to moving parts, such as the trunk lid on the California, which flips up when the roof is raised or lowered.

Ferrari was forced by law to put the brake lights down by the license plate instead. The round lights up above are taillights only.

I know that.

That actually seems a lot less safe to have brake lights that low, but I guess as long as the third brake light is visible that's good enough.
