Finally, I get to drive it in Gran Turismo after enjoying it a lot in Forza. Besides longtail GT1 and Super GT500, we also need more Group 5, silhouette and IMSA GT/GTO cars to spice up Gr. 2.

If there is a new circuit, it will certainly appear tomorrow in the GT World Series championship. So, if it doesn't show up, it's because we won't have a new circuit in July.

I'm predicting that the Porsche 918 Spyder coming is perhaps the regular version. Apparently I don't seem to like the diffuser on the Weissach Package, even if it enhances the car's performance, it just looks very off.

It could have visual Weissach parts in GT Auto though.

I really hope they fix the lag in multiplayer lobbies, it’s crazy that this is still a problem.

They've certainly improved it since launch (at least in mine and others experiences, it's all anecdotal at the end of the day) - I remember a few months ago we couldn't even race in lobbies with people in the same country without everyone warping all over the place, but it seems relatively stable now when sticking with your region. Cross region is nowhere near where it was in Sport though, that still feels remarkably awful.

The fact they've improved it at all to begin with though makes me hopeful they're going to continue that trend.

I am worried that the 3 car format is the reality for every new update... such a shame... Anyway because i am poor in game credits(please PD be more generous) i will buy that Caterham (if my guess is right)

Perhaps they feel if they held back a few cars during GT Sport's earlier life, content updates would not have tapered off so dramatically later on. With GT7, maybe they intend to fully support the game for four years. If so, that'd be 144 new cars during its lifetime at the current output which seems reasonable (568 final car count). GT8 would then launch with 600-650+ cars.

Who on earth would want to play the same game for four years? And who cares what cars are in it four ( or two) years from now?

It was substandard, in so many aspects, at launch, and it still is now, getting on for six months post-launch. It ain’t gonna get much better.

There's tons of games people have been playing for years and years, be it Counter Strike, Trackmania, GTA, The Elder Scrolls or whatever.
Maybe. But it’s kinda sad. And this game? I’m surprised I’ve stuck with it for four months tbh...

But it’s kinda sad.
Why sad?

I personally get a lot from the game as it is, be it creating liveries, taking photos or just race some friends. For sure the game needs a lot of improvements but I'm certain over the course of the next few months a lot of issues will be addressed.

But it’s kinda sad.
Why? Is there a time limit on how long you can find a game engaging and entertaining?

I bought the Skyrim 10AE and am playing through the game (again) on PS5, after playing through it on PS4 and PS3 previously. I have an Amiga A1200 beneath my PS5. I occasionally fire it up to play Sensible World of Soccer from 1996, or The Settlers from 1993, or Dune II from 1992. Occasionally I'll play Transport Tycoon (1994) on the PC, I only haven't got the Spectrum out of the box for Chaos (1985) because I don't have the room for it and you can play it on PC.

No part of that makes me sad. It makes me rather happy, in fact.

  • Suzuka track to have drive thru McDonalds
I think that would fail. It's an amusement park. Check out the food options (with pictures) -

Of course people can and do go back and play favourites now and again for old time’s sake. That’s not what I meant. I meant if people stick with the same game as their main interest over a long time, when other, better, or just different, games might become available. I suspect that if, if, this game just ticks over for the next four years with three-car updates every month (unlikely, as I think updates will start tapering off about two years post-launch, but who knows) there won’t be many people still playing it (barring the sport mode brigade). I’d feel a bit sorry for anyone still playing it then, if they’ve been at it since launch. But each to his or her own, of course. I think it’s a pretty poor effort from PD, as I’m sure you’re aware if you read any of my other posts here, and I feel a bit of a saddo playing it even now. I’m surprising myself by still turning it on every few days.

Edit: And I think it’s this forum that’s keeping me playing, seeing what people here are saying and doing. I’d not have gone on with sport mode races a single race after triggering the 50-race trophy if it weren’t for the Daily Races thread, and I’d never have known about the engine bonanza without GTP either, and that was interesting while it lasted. I think now I’m hanging around morbidly waiting to see if Kaz can really turn it around, or if it sinks like the Titanic. I doubt I’m alone.

My stepdad and I have been playing each other at Everybody's Golf 2 for over 20 years. We are very sad.
It's the only game he plays.

I don't think it's sad, people enjoy what they enjoy but simple statistics show that the people playing games consistently for years is always the minority.

GTAV has sold 50m on PC, there are 10 million unique active players across a month. Which is certainly a lot, but it's still easily the minority. Plus that game is by far a stats outlier, other games don't get close to their numbers.

GTS had near 15 million users by 2021, only 15% of them were still active that year according to Kudos. That's why PD eased down on updates in the last 18 months of its life, not much point when most people are gone.

Most games are not going to still be going strong in terms of player numbers after about 3 years, games like GTA and the popular PC eSports titles are the minority.

This is a stupid argument because you can stick with a game for as long as you like, given that it entertains you. It's not sad.
I do think it is sad, or pitiful, if someone goes on playing a substandard game long after better alternatives (or just better things to do) are available. Of course, if it’s a good entertaining game, or if there’s some kind of emotional attachment, that isn’t the case. It doesn’t surprise me that some people still play GT4 now and again (though I would think it sad if it were still their main game) but I very much doubt anyone will be doing that with GTS or GT7 twenty years from now.
