I still think it's a giant scam and with Beyonce calling Swift up on stage it reeks even more of being planned out by someone. I mean I have to imagine everyone knows who's getting what award anyway since award shows in general are giant scams.

How could KanYe West, who I do like, do something as classless and stupid as what he did at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards? I am a great fan of Taylor Swift. She's already nominated for four CMA nominations and got her first-ever MTV Moon Man for the video to "You Belong to Me." This was classless. What do you make of this?

I'm not convinced it was stage. ODB did a similar event & he and Wu Tang both said apologized for his behavior sometime after.

I also don't think Kanye is that dumb to flash the middle finger at the camera, something that could have easily cost him a fine by the FCC, nor do I think VH1 would have agreed to have the VMAs broadcast on their network, either.

Besides, Kanye has a history of saying dumb things on TV, things that no one else would expect someone to say, so I'm not surprised Kanye would say such a thing.

You didn't notice the cameras cutting away to a wall, then to Beyonce? Right as he walks off stage, you can see what he's about to do.

The thing that says "not an act" to me is that it involved Taylor, she just doesn't seem like the person that would do a cheap publicity stunt. You could also say the same thing about Beyonce, who is probably one of the classiest artists currently.

Except Beyonce is married to Jay-Z and Kanye is his little protégé or "little brother" if you will....and Taylor Swift is signed under Universal Music and so it Kayne. There is so much behind the scenes crap we don't see.

I mean really lets think about this for a second, they are all celebrities and what do celebrities pretty much all want? Money, fame, and press coverage. Kanye gets to bump up his "bad boy" image and Taylor Swift gets to expand her innocent girl image. MTV ends up with ratings now and the masses are entertained by yet another "scandal". People Magazine, National Enquirer and all those other trash rags will sell millions of copies so people can get the inside scoop on the whole thing, same goes for ET TV programme, they get ratings.

Celebrities just pull this crap to get in the limelight, it's lame.

Jay-Z & Beyonce are very well known for their class, so I highly doubt they'd do this stunt. If it was, I'm positive Lil' Momma's personal invitation on Jay-Z's song would have been staged as well, but it wasn't.

👍 Not only is she not the type of person to do a cheap stunt like that, she wouldn't need to pull such a stunt. For farf's sake, she's the second-best-selling artist in the States this year... behind Jacko.

Kanye West is 8th in this list with Love Lockdown while Swift is 11th with 1,760,800.
Note that these are all paid downloads which means that while Swift has sold 1,316,000 Fearless albums, Flo-Rida's Right Round song alone has doubled that in paid downloads.

Album sales are no longer a way to show how popular you are, now that we are given the choice to download & buy songs independently.
Album sales just get too complicated anyways for popularity as their release dates can be so far apart & can alter sales. However, songs themselves can come out anytime the artist is ready meaning some songs are released 6-12 months before the album is even released.

I was surprised to see that this evening as well. Good on him to apologize, and to say that he wants to say it to her in person, but it doesn't stop him from looking like an ass. Again. It was kinda uncomfortable seeing him there with Jay, with that huge moment of silence, reflecting on what his mother would have said, and when he knew it was the wrong thing to be doing.

What a complete moron. Seriously, to interrupt the speech of a 19 year old girl who has won something that is very difficult to get for making the type of music she does is just ridiculous. He had no right to get up there, and no right to take her moment away from her. He needs to realise that he's not a genius, he's not better than anyone else and he can't do whatever he wants.

Pink, however, has moved up a notch in my books as she apparently had to be stopped from going up on stage and smacking him one. She also said

“Kanye west is the biggest piece of s*** on earth. Quote me."

I used to dislike the woman but I'm warming to her now.

EDIT: Also, on top of all of this, the Beyonce video is hardly "One of the best videos ever made" is it? It's just her and some other people dancing in a room with a spinning camera. How exciting.
