Take a listen to Kanye West's 'Big Brother' track.

Jay-Z has denied that DOA was written with Kanye West in mind though it does seem kind of hard to believe.
Big Brother was written 2 years ago.

Jay-Z claims that he appreciates Auto-Tune when used by people with a melody like Kanye. That alone was only said because Kanye was a co-producer on the song, which is a tad ironic because Kanye uses Auto-Tune almost all the time. Hence, why he can barely sing some of his songs live.

Kanye's next album will show if he was serious or not on reducing the use of Auto-Tune. But no matter what he does, he still doesn't have the lyric talent Jay has.

Just found these on the net, I think this is going to be a running trend with Kanye now for quite a while!

As for whether this was staged or not I seriously dont believe that Taylor Swift would do anything like that and even if it was true why Kanye? They are totally different musical genres, I dont see how such a scheme between those 2 would even come up!

Seriously, to interrupt the speech of a 19 year old girl who has won something that is very difficult to get for making the type of music she does is just ridiculous.

+1 to both.

Pink, however, has moved up a notch in my books as she apparently had to be stopped from going up on stage and smacking him one. She also said

[typical Pink-ish quote]

 I used to dislike the woman but I'm warming to her now.
Her music's so-so (some of her stuff is pretty good, some of it not so much), but she's bloody hilarious when not doing her music. She's very outspoken, and the music scene is better off for it. :D

I know I shouldn't have, but I found the Kanye Clone pic hilarious.

One thing has me slightly confuzzled though. Why the HUGE uproar over the incident? I can understand people being pissed off at Kanye and all, but for Obama to chime in with his two cents... wow. Is the uproar only this big because she's very young (compared to everyone else) and it was her first VMA?

I mean, if it was Katy Perry/Lady Gaga/Pink/Beyonce up there (for example) would there have been such a big stink?

I think we can all agree what we think of Kanye West but are not allowed to say it here in our forum. :nervous::sly::crazy::guilty:

Oh yeah, Pink called him a toolbox! I guess we can say "TOOLBOX" since we are all gearheads here in GTPlanet. Is toolbox allowed? :dunce:

taylor swift (aka younger female version of French Stewart) is planning on getting into rap...

I agree completely with Kanye's point, but not a good way to go about it.

A little piece of me died inside watching that video :( I thought she was going to be the next Dolly Parton!

... plus its clear that she can't do rap to save her life! :yuck: Good thing it was clearly sarcastic.

I thought he said he learned from watching the gay fish episode of South Park? Apparently not. Someone needs to knock him off his podium fast before he gets any worse.

BTW Kanye, this is why I don't buy your music.

Is the fact his music is crap not enough?...

Actually I'm shocked that this many people watch the VMAs.

👍 me too. I know it was a bad move but wow I did not expect to see all this.

But I saw Stephen Colbert's reaction. It is pretty funny, he had a few good bits.

I refer to his music as "rap for white people," which he wouldn't like. To generalize for a moment, most of the rap to come out of Chicago is right up my alley, but Kanye's work seems to be ish-ish depending on how I'm feeling at any given time.

But you honestly cannot say that "Can't Tell Me Nothing" isn't awesome.

Did anyone else catch him on Leno?

First time I've seen Kanye be humble, and it seemed genuine to me. Interesting, let's hope he actually comes good on what he said.

Yikes. If that is true, that totally sucks. Sure, the guy made an utter ass of himself and deserved most of the criticism thrown his way, but you don't want the guy killing himself...

I've already said how I feel.
I'd like to believe that Kanye feels bad about being drunk off his ass and being a total asshat at the VMA's.

If he was my brother, our Mama would kick his brown furry butt.

That said, can I ask a serious question?

What in the world has happened to manners and propriety in this country?!?!?
A "lowly" congressman heckles the freaking PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!?!?
in public, on camera.
Kanye West highjacks the VMA's to "promote" a video from a woman that has the temerity to refuse to sing at the above-mentioned president's inauguration (cause she'd have to share the stage with other performers)?

Granted, we're are generally mortified because the "rules of respect" have been not just broken, but shattered beyond comprehension.

I think both acts are merely a symptom of something much bigger, though I have no
idea what, nor how to "cure" it.

But it is a generally accepted rule that if the Leader of the country is speaking, everyone accords him/her the respect due his office, whether you agree with him or not.

It is, or should be generally accepted that interrupting someone, in public or private is rude, and simply not done.

There are other instances of people doing this kind of "clownshoe asshattery", But these "gentlemen" have not only embarrassed themselves, they've embarrassed their mama's. (*tsk, tsk, tsk: shake of the head, wag of the finger) Shame on them!

Kanye hasn't gone into depression because of what he said to Swift. It's because he's realized he drinks too much & feels he hasn't given enough attention to his mother when she passed.

So, I finally watched these music video awards. yes, Japan is slow sometimes. I flipped on the terebi (tv) and it was the intro for the VMA'S. 'Alright', I though to myself, 'I can see this Kanye thing and find out what all the fuss is about.' However, to do that I hate to wait an eternity (in Dante's 7th level of hell) while Russell Brand did his thing. I almost turned it off, but I knew the 'Kanye Incident' waited on the other side. But man, who is that guy. I have only seen Russell Brand twice in my life, both times hosting an awards show, and seriously, how do you guys put up with him? It's been a long time since I wished death on a complete stranger.

As an aside; I don't know much about Taylor Swift having only seen one of her videos on tv here, but I enjoyed her performance and the song was alright, too. Still don't think she is all that attractive, though.
