Yeah that would be really cool. Onboy, sorry to hear you're out of action for the moment. Can one of the tracks to be Laguna Seca, cos that's what I tuned my RS6 for? I've got an idea of someone I can ask to be the judge... hopefully news soon...

By the way, I hope you guys aren't turning Temetias into a drag queen...

Well…I could try and start 'writing' again, a simple black/white bullet point review ain't that hard to cobble together. And as for turning Temetias into a drag queen? Put it this way, Yesterday, his Veyron was around 3-5 car lengths away, today, barely 2.:scared:

BMW Z4 R Review

Only just discovered this site and fairly new to all this review stuff.

Just thought I would give your BMW Z4 tune ago as I had one lying about in the back of my garage looking very neglected.
Hopped in it and realised it had 0 miles.

Straight to the tuning shop and fitted your modifications.

Decided to then take it out as it was on Cape Ring South to try and compare to your time.

The car handles very well overall, not too much skittishness under braking, even with 2 ABS selected as oppossed to 3. It tended to struggle slight with turn in, not sure if its because of my driving style.
It just didnt seem to slow down quite enough. I kept at it and slowly began to find a balance. The key was to brake very hard then almost chuck the car in.

This allowed me to take corners alot quicker than i had been and meant my exit was much faster and the car was less likely to oversteer when planting the throttle.
It still had a bit too much wheelspin when exiting a corner for my liking so I did lower the LSDs acceleration down to 45.
Seem to suit me more that way.

Overall its a very good car. I havent fully mess about with it and tested it on other tracks but at first glance it is a very capable car and great fun to drive.
Feels planted through the bends and changes direction fairly well through the twisting sections.

Only issue is the turn in which is slightly affecting other areas such as cornering speeds but once i have had a slight play I might be able to get it suited to my driving style, which is probably more of the problem than the tune.

Good work guys!

Thanks for the review! Yeah, that's not the first time the Z4's brakes are getting some (deserved) critisism. I think I'll have to make some sort of v1.1 of it sometime. Looks like Nomis took the Golf on his to do list so you're getting your reward car soon. :)

Realised I had 20hp less. Now its only 4 hp less... ;)

could make a setup of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR '05 for the Laguna Seca circuit. My email: alcir.patrocinio@itelefonica.com.br

They don't need your email for a tuned car :) They need a review of their tune (Kinda like the ones you read in magazines, just replace the talk about the interior with the car's driving behaviours), and your PSN. And Temetias, hush hush about what I told you on the lounge.

Thanks Onboy for informing alcir! And shh, it's a secret... And I think it shouldn't be posted for a while. I want to make it perfect and it should be reserved for something bigger than just a regular update. ;)

Let me give it a few runs when it's complete, we want perfection out of this thing. And what happened in the room? You just disappeared...

And Nomis, if you're wondering what it is we're talking about, here's a hint:
The Spirit of KMW will be merging the new cult of racing that is showing up in GT5 while maintaining the spirits on track competitive-ness

^^if you figure it out (not that hard to crack), keep it to yourself. This is one surprise that I've been dreaming up of for ages…

I've just updated all my tunes with online settings, to get the same handling online as offline.

Trainspotters will notice that the DB7 now has ballast. And I hate ballast! But I found there was no other way to get that great lump of V12 to have balanced handling :grumpy:

@Temetias, I won't be going on for most of the day, so don't send me invites to drag, you'll just be wasting time mate :D And just so you know, Nomis, Temetias' Veyron is among, I think mafs said the top ten…?, fastest Veyrons at this given moment  so you have something to be proud of now! KMW, the tuner for one of the fastest Veyrons in the game! DON'T BRAG ABOUT IT TOO MUCH THOUGH!

But, it won't make any difference to anyone intrested only in circuit tunes..? But yeah, hopefully it's somekind of a credit anyway. :) Since my veyron is not going to get faster than that, I'm gonna let it rest for a while and get back to my more familliar circuit tuning stuff.

Ok, but how about one final run with us? I still need to see you stick it to Mafs' Veyron. If my car can stay within a car's length, yours, with its higher top speed, should be able to match that. Just remember, the launch is everything :)

A tuned McLaren MP4-12C can be quite a beast. Enormous power, low weight and almost no downforce add up for a mixture very hard to ride on sports tyres. This general purpose tune stays away from the maximum possible to still allow for an enjoyable drive while roughly matching the performance points of a maxed out Ferrari 458 Italia.

Updated supension and differential (thanks to Motor City Hamilton for the idea) settings improve the handling and balance while engine tuning and moderate weight reduction help with the punch in the back on throttle.

With some little changes [settings in brackets] this MP4-12C GT can be transformed to into it's race car version: The big rear wing, race tyres, some weight shift and more aggressive camber make for nice race weapon.

5 car lengths? C'mon Onboy, you make me feel scared. :scared:

OI!!! Temetias!!! Where are you!!!!!! I miss beating your Veyron :( :D  Now get back online so we can talk more trash about our little project!

Sorry, that I haven't been able to update the OP. My PC decided to go nuts once again so I can't update it yet. At the moment I'm using my phone to write this. For some reason it doesn't allowe me to send PM's (please notice this, people!) so I can't reply any PM's yet. I think I'll get my older PC working before the weekend, so I will be back soon. :)

@Onboy: My summer holidays ended this monday so from now I can usually play only the same time you're sleeping. Luckily there's still weekends, though! :)

Well, I have until next week :D and one thing you need to change. 'we can't make your fiat 500 outdrag a Dodge Viper' (or something like that) to 'we will make a fiat 500 whoop Snakey's arse in a drag race':lol:

Hi Ken, sorry I'm not very good at online setups yet. The best I can suggest at the moment is Highlandor's method. Hope this helps.

--------------

Folks, my online setups aren't good enough so I have removed the online section from all my tunes (thanks Highlandor for showing me a better way). Hopefully I'll have some online tunes in the future which are good enough to publish!

I hated the Supra. Which is why I put my hand up for it when KMW started planning a batch of 90s Japanese cars, I wanted to challenge myself to create something I like. With a a 60/40 weight split, it drove like a lead-tipped arrow and the rest of the tune was equally stodgy. Since the plan was to avoid "nose=up" tunes, I ripped out as much weight as possible, only to put some weight back at the rear of the car. So this Supra is equipped with the world's heaviest tailpipe! (113 kg at +50). To hit the 550PP target, I started off with an engine tune without exhaust mods, which was a big mistake: all you could hear was the FC gearbox whining like a banshee. So the parts selection was shuffled around and the car now has some much-needed exhaust noise.

In the end, I did create a car that I enjoy driving. At Trial Mountain, it is agile yet stable and I am very pleased with the throttle steer that the LSD settings give. Most of the development work was done offline, but it has also been tested online, where (with a few LSD tweaks) it works pretty well.

But do you like it? All feedback is much appreciated- good, bad and ugly!

PS Don't forget to shift early, check out the power and torque stats above and you'll discover that the party is over by 5500rpm.

The Supra tune above (sorry for double-posting, but I like to keep the tunes in their own post) is the last tune I'll publish for a while. Basically, I've been getting frustrated with some aspects of GT5 tuning and while Spec 2.0 is brilliant, I've decided to stop producing tunes because of 2 frustrations:

- It all started with the ninja physics changes that PD pushes out with each update. For starters, changes to physics mean that each tune posted needs to be checked/revised after each update (to avoid people finding that a KMW tune sucks, because it was designed for an old physics model). While regular updates are a good thing, regular changes to the physics means that "maintaining" tunes is a lot of repetitive work. But far worse than that is that the physics changes are undocumented (even Spec 2.0 is guilty of this). So after each update, I don't know whether my theories/assumptions/etc (which are based on testing of old physics models) still work. This means I have no confidence in my tuning techniques any more, since everything can change overnight without any warning. Yes, you could say I'm overreacting because the changes are usually minor, but I've put a lot of time into developing tuning theories and hate to think that I'm blindly clinging on to theories which haven't worked since a certain update.

- The other thing is online physics. For starters, it is absolutely ridiculous that it is different to offline. Most people out there want tunes to race against their mates online, which is fair enough. But there are a lot of useful tuning tools which are only available offline, so it really sucks that a tune made offline doesn't work the same online. And the interface etc is slower, so it's silly that you have to go online just to work on a tune by yourself. Then there's the bugs online, where phsyics changes for all sorts of stupid reasons (eg connection speed, qualify vs race). So it's just luck whether a tune you give someone will work as you intended it. I can cope with tuning effects that aren't "correct" (if you want realism, you should be playing PC sims anyway), but IMHO it's the inconsistencies which are unacceptable.

Sorry for the rant. And I won't be throwing in the towel completely, I still enjoy driving and discussing tunes, so I'm keen to be involved with the development of Temetias' and Z1-AV69's tunes and keep hanging around GTP for the excellent tuning discussions.

Cheers,
Simon

I would like my minolta 89 race car tuned
Chevy 89' minolta race car, racing soft
Will send
Would like same accelaration (if possible) higher top speed and better handling or just an all around good racecar

yours sincerely, branmuffi80.
P.S. I would also like to start tuning my cars, could I have some tips? (Almost clueless)

i just tried out the BMW Z4 tune and it is amazing. i've currently been trying to beat a seasonal race but haven't had luck finding a good car with 500pp or under and this car with your tune is making me hopeful for a gold. keep up the good work!
