I hated the Supra. Which is why I put my hand up for it when KMW started planning a batch of 90s Japanese cars, I wanted to challenge myself to create something I like. With a a 60/40 weight split, it drove like a lead-tipped arrow and the rest of the tune was equally stodgy. Since the plan was to avoid "nose=up" tunes, I ripped out as much weight as possible, only to put some weight back at the rear of the car. So this Supra is equipped with the world's heaviest tailpipe! (113 kg at +50). To hit the 550PP target, I started off with an engine tune without exhaust mods, which was a big mistake: all you could hear was the FC gearbox whining like a banshee. So the parts selection was shuffled around and the car now has some much-needed exhaust noise.
In the end, I did create a car that I enjoy driving. At Trial Mountain, it is agile yet stable and I am very pleased with the throttle steer that the LSD settings give. Most of the development work was done offline, but it has also been tested online, where (with a few LSD tweaks) it works pretty well.
But do you like it? All feedback is much appreciated- good, bad and ugly!
PS Don't forget to shift early, check out the power and torque stats above and you'll discover that the party is over by 5500rpm.
