Wow! 13 kg. Is a lot! I'm 10 lb. Overweight in my class, and thought it was bad.

Also, only 9 people in a class? Wow, the fact I'm racing against 30 karts in my class... It seems ever more exciting now.

I am just with 8 in a class but the class existed just about 4 years

I wouldn't, after all, its just a helmet ;)

Pffff can't even afford that considering I just bought a transponder + going to be racing this weekend for the first time 👎 (wish me luck guys) .

Might as well redesign it using only 1 or 2 colours to make it cheap as possible.

Just a little country club. Max grid size is 24 and I've only ever seen that once.
It is a lot but the club don't run my weight class so I will make do. 'm about 3 tenths off winning in that class.

It's a new class, sort of. They got Un-restricted racing at the club this year aswell and it has split the grid in half. But the classes run between 8 and 14 generally. C & D Grade Titles are more like 14-20.

Still can't seem to get a clean start :P

Good Luck then :D

Finally got my chain lubed. The metal tubing for the kart stand arrives later today. I'm going to weld it up today, and maybe post photos of my build; it'll be quite different from any you've seen before.

All-in-all, it's going to be a good weekend. I feel like I'll be able to have fun regardless of finishing position, but, I want to improve as the season goes on. So, I can't afford to set the bar low, and see fake improvements. So, I'm going to do as well as I can, but not worry about it, if I don't do well.

So, don't wish me luck, wish me a fun raceday, and wish everyone a safe raceday.

Well, how did everybody go this weekend?
I race next weekend so no news here.

I was the fastest rookie, all day, the entire day. I was on the bubble of Top 10 for most of the day, out of 18 karts.

But, when it came time for the feature race, driving standards took a huge hit. One guy got pushed up on top of the other guy's kart. I slowed to avoid, had nowhere to go, and got rear-ended hard; race over, the rear bumper came loose and started dragging. Knowing that I would've gotten a black flag anyways, I limped it around to pits, tried to tie it back on, but the race started without me.

The rest of the racing was awesome, though. Starting at the back really paid off well, actually. It's only once I started 12th, and lost the "Rookie Starting Grid Syndrome" that stuff hit the fan.

I still feel really sorry for the guy I accidentally spun. (Video coming soon, hopefully) He didn't leave me any room. :scared:

Back from my race day, best result was 6th place starting from the back with a grid of 14 👍 .

Well done, lad!

Anyways, at my kart track... There are lots of girls. :P some of them are dating some of the guys. Is it normally acceptable for people to date people they're racing against? The one redhead might have a crush on me. I've realized I don't mind.

She's really slow, and spins a lot, so I don't think I'll be having to worry about a bump + run or anything.

Do you guys think that's acceptable?

Good work! Accidents happen and if you had no room to move it's not your fault. Got their own punishment ;) Can't wait to see the video! Is it worth getting a GoPro? I can't decide whether I want to put my money into a GoPro or a Sticker Kit.

Well done! Keep working at it, not far off the podium :)

I don't see why it would be a problem. But then again, I have no experience :P

Well I don't seem to have a problem with that to be honest.

And thank you 👍 .

Part 1: go for a GoPro Hero 2 HD, mounted on your front faring, with the rollbar mount. It works beautifully. :) I drilled the holes right through the screw holes in the rollbar mount. If you want, I can do a step-by-step picture demonstration of how I did it. As I found out on Saturday... Sticker kits don't last long. It still looks fine, but, up close, it's possible to see places where I put someone's rear bumper through my stickers and created small holes. :irked:

Part 2: well, then, I'll see if she comes over to visit again.

I'll check it out. I'm not sure about where tomount it as I remember hearing about the AKA making it have to be in a specific spot. I'll read up ;) Thanks :D

On the 19th of may i have a race on spa francorchamps the karting track , itmis a really nice track

Who else has driven at world-famous racetracks? I've been to Mosport, you're going to Spa Francorchamps... :D

Anyways, good luck, and consider me extremely jealous.

The best I've been to is a local track :P
Phillip Island don't let you BYO go kart. I've raced a hire kart on it though.

Damn iRacing!
2 days away from my race weekend start. Weights have been made and will be mounted tomorrow :)

I'm 10 pounds over weight in my class, before ballast. I could still lose 10 pounds!!

Where should I try to lose the weight (I'm not fat, but, nor am I extremely thin....)Kart or me?

If you think you can shed 10 pounds off yourself thats what I would think to do. I'm not sure how you would go about taking weight off the kart though.

I'm only putting weights because I have dropped 6kg since the first round which muts me a bit under. Other than this series I am 13kg over everywhere because they don't run Super Heavy. I've always been a big person though.

Well, I'm off for the weekend at 4am tomorrow so I won't be back on here until late Sunday/Monday. Have a good, safe weekend everyone! I hope to be posting a pic of my first trophey on Monday. :P

The sticker kit is worth a couple pounds.

Yeah I need to lose a couple of pounds too. But he'd probably wouldn't peel the sticker kit off unless for a last resort. Try and replace heavier parts with lighter ones but only within the regulations (don't go modding things inside the engine for example unless the regulations in your class says that you can).
