The sticker kit is worth a couple pounds.

True, someone said the current tonykart (OTK) sticker kits weigh something close to 2 kilo's. about 4.5 pounds. Another thing you can do is run as low fuel as possible. If you run 7 litres of fuel, it weighs approximately 5.25KG (11.3 pounds). If you run 4 litres it only weighs 3kg (6.6 pounds). That is almost 5 pounds out of nothing. just make sure you have enough at the end of the race for fuel checks ;)

Was thinking of getting a personal sticker kit made, would anyone know (UK) where I could get a good sticker kit from for a Pro Kart?

Edit: Chassis is Wright R1, may be old but is still running well ;)

Danger graphics UK are very good. good quality, but expensive :(.
Here's a link to their website

http://www.danger-uk.co.uk/ Just select the kart section on the selection bar at the top.

So, my results:

MyLaps.com results page, "WRKC" search.

Clicking all of the results from 2013 will bring up my results, in Sr. Medium class.

As you can see, by the -x after my name, I'm not doing bad for a rookie. :sly: But, it's bad compared to the guy who's been racing for as long as I've been living. :scared:

Edit: by the way, in Race #1's final, there was a massive wreck. :scared: That's why almost no one finished. No one was hurt, but my rear bumper basically almost came off; unsafe, didn't want to finish the race.

Good work!
Keep at it, it comes good eventually.

My results from the 2nd round of the series I'm in went as follows:
Heat 1 - 3rd
Heat 2 - 5th
Pre-Final - 5th
Final - 4th

Bloody hard work. Never been to the track before so I had a steep learning curve. Same goes for the rest of the series, however, so I will have the os stacked against me. I am the youngest in my class and the only person who hasn't driven at the last 4 of the 5 rounds. Still no trophey but if this weekend was anything to go by I will be a major threat for the rest of the series. I was only 3 tenths off the pace I needed to win. If I had previous experience I know I could have won.
This weekend will propel me into a very strong position going into the next round. Club day before that though, so all eyes are focused on suprizing the locals ;)

Which track GT? Are you doing the Golden Power Series?

We made yesterday we made the decision to not go to spa , we still have a bit problems with our engines

This is too bad. I'm really sorry to hear that.

Congrats on the nice results!

As for my own results, I was not expecting to be battling for top 10s (I'm close) so early in the season, in my first season of owning/tuning/preparing my own kart. I don't have any help, I'm my own grid mechanic, and the only help I do get, normally, comes in the form of someone else pulling the rip cord. :scared: Somehow I still haven't learned to start my own kart. :dopey: Otherwise, I've been doing it all myself.

But, I must admit, the latest crash scars have got me worried. I don't know how I'm supposed to fix the sidepod, following the most recent contact; I bent the metal rails of the sidepod. The rear bumper, I was able to fix with duct/gaffer tape and cable ties, but... How does one straighten the sidepod mounting rails?

Just in case my explanation isn't clear enough:

^ I bent that. The sidepod (the actual plastic bit) is undamaged, but... Somehow, I managed to all but destroy the metal mount. :(

I didn't mind that track, the hairpin up the hill was pretty cool, you could hit it heaps quicker than you think. You should do Albury if you can, was a really good and fun track. And Swan Hill with the huge NASCAR style banked corner, that is awesome

My kart track's got a heavily banked corner, too, because it's a roval based on a 1/3 mile oval. :sly: You're right, banked corners are fun. It's actually my primary overtaking position; I think most people are scared to run the extra distance up the banking, before dropping back below the apron. I carry my momentum through, because I "feint" on turn-in, waiting 'til much later to turn-in.

Yeh, it was the craziest corner I ever hit in my kart. It pretty much pushes the air out of your lungs by the time you get to the end of it. You hit it wide open on this track, after a bit of a straight so you are almost at full noise. Last I heard they were probably going to remove it :(

No hairpin at Bendigo anymore. It's all new, like a left sweeper that tightens pass 180 degrees and then sweeps back left onto the old track. Massive change in grip. Albury is in the series so I'll be doing that. I was going to try and get to the Sun Cross City Titles (?) in early July but I can't because of clubday and Rochester the 2 weeks prior. Costs too much.

We were talking to a few people who want me to go up and try it (Swan Hill) but it is just too much for me to do. Maybe next year.

I thought I heard the same thing but I can't remember correctly.

If I was you, buy a new one. But also try to fix this one as well. Try heating the bent area a lot until it becomes flexy, then bend into shape and hold. Dont bend without heating as it will weaken the metal and if you get slammed again it will more than likely snap. But a new one would be best on the safe side 👍

Yeah, but, full-tilt in a Honda 12 hp-powered Birel is different from full-tilt in... what do you run?

This. How much will a new one cost? :scared:

Don't know prices.........Google?

Uh-oh.

Which one do I need?! :scared:

Edit: While we're on this topic, and since the new side pod bar is inexpensive... I think I will get the new AM29 side pod bar. But, question is, how in the world are the side pods held on? :scared: I've looked everywhere for any sign of any mounting location, and found nothing.

Sorry, cant help you there, and they should slide in on the side.

There should be two small 'holes' on the side of the chassis tube. All you have to do is put a small bolt through the chassis and the side pod bar.

If you are wondering how to mount the side pod (plastic bit) onto the metal bar then look for these wholes.

These are the ones that will be on the side pod. (you may have to drill through the plastic if there are no holes). The small silver bits are where you put the bolt.

The bolt should go through the small hole's on the thin, flat bars on these, then into the plastic sidepod.

Much more elaborate explanation than mine ;)

Thanks, gokartman. :)

Nice Race Melancoly but at the start you should be right on there bumper to get a good start

Not necessarily. Agreed if you are in a grid with lots of loading (Pushing) then getting on the guy infronts rear is good because it stops you being spun under braking, at also stops people cutting in onto your side.

However my best starts have all came from leaving a slight gap and then accelerating slightly earlier than them. This takes pretty good timing though and can easily go wrong (as I have found many a time.).

they are intrepid karts, just with different bodywork. It is like Tonykart, Kosmic, Alonso kart and exprit. 4 different brands, one same chassis :)
Okay, thanks ;)

^This. Leaving a slight gap and accelerating early got me the lead and 4th from last on the grid last weekend. generally can make 2 or 3 spots but if it is tight track and not many overtaking spots then sit on the bumber and don't give any room to the kart next to you.
