I must have missed the part where PD has no say in how the DLC that they create gets distributed, considering the position and power Kaz holds in Sony and the amount of pull PD gets as a developer.

Can you believe what they did with this DLC? Im finishing the game on my main user (the one with an online account) and was thinking of starting a new game on my second user (with no online account) and cant play the DLC with that user??? how stupid is that?

Sorry to hear mate. I don't play anymore but I can't believe how many cock ups this company had made this gen.

Really needs better organisation.

Well, unless Kaz is a complete liar, he had no knowledge of the delay, meaning it was Sony's decision. Based on the fact that Stealth and Chromeline cars are not tied to a single account, I'm willing to say that PD wanted the DLC to be the same, but Sony ultimately said no.
 
Its a shame but I see more locking down on account sharing in the future due to people abusing the system and compromising each others security as itsa huge amount of work on their end. Its sad that honest users suffer.
 
This all DLC deal was wrong from the start... We downloaded the DLC with spec II... even if we pay for bandwith and didnt want the DLC we had no say and had to download it anyway and now this...

Its a publisher thing yes. Their responsibility mostly.

It would be so much better to have an official release with reasons why and apologies to those honest people effected.

As well an explanation of why they delayed the DLC in the North American region would be highly respected.

Seems Sony has no respect for it's users these days. They just do what they want when they want. With no regards to our feelings at all. :(

Sony if you are reading this. We built you. I myself been shelling coins your way for over a decade. This is thanks I get for such loyalty. Never straying to XBOX. Never had one in my house. Let alone played in my home.

We support you both finically and with our words of praise and this is how you are going to treat us?

I am one of thousands upon thousands that are similar in our loyalty and feelings.

Since it was last minute, I wouldn't be surprised if it was some Dan Wheldon tribute. But at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if it was something completely irrelevant and pointless.

But yes, an explanation would be nice.

One thing to keep in mind, PD is the developer. They create and design the game. Sony is the publisher, they control all the marketing, and likely all the decisions regarding DLC. While PD and Sony share a very close relationship, for a number of reasons, having DLC locked per account is likely something beyond PD's control. It's Sony's decision. No doubt such an unpopular decision will quickly filter through Kazunori to Sony, but it's likely far beyond Kazunori's ability to do anything about it.

Unfortunately, complaining to Sony is likely to be futile.

I have to add that this logic of "DLC LINKED TO ID" is something that we have on Xbox console since the very first day of XboxLive and it is bare foundation of their DRM policy.

On my XBox I can use DLC only with the same account I've purchased it and no other account on my console can access it. Also, I have to use it with the copy of the game that corresponds with territory where DLC is purchased with.

In past 5 years Sony gave as an opportunity to enjoy almost totally unrestricted DRM policy. With experience from FIFA '11, PS Home and now this GT5 DLC it seems how Sony decided to make their own system restricted in the same way as XboxLive.

Well, I can understand that. I do not like it, but from business and user standpoint, I live with such system on XboxLive for almost a decade.

Only thing that *this* GT5 DLC system lacks is possibility to redownload it on another console with the same PSN ID. I don't know how I can re-access my purchased content if I decide to change consoles - where XBox live allows that through keeping track of all purchases over Markeplace and DRM migration - while same option does not exist in this format that is imposed by current DLC.

This^^. Make the DLC available to all users on the system it was downloaded in. Also REMOVE region lock. These were last minute changes made by Sony. My question is: WHY SONY? WHY THE CHANGES?!

Well at least he's trying. It's odd that GT5 DLC somehow works differently than the DLC for other games. Odder still, it doesn't even work like the preorder DLC.

I trust that Kaz won't give up on this issue, because it seems he honestly feels guilty about it. I'm willing to forgive him for all the trouble if he does find a solution.
 
He is lost! He clearly doesnt understand why this is happening. Hopefully he has a good conversation with Sony and the issues can be solved. Please Kaz, make those greedy as:censored: pay for what they have done.

But they are doing more than that. They are also restricting it by region. If you buy it using a UK account and you are living in lets say Spain, you cant use the DLC!! :grumpy:
 
I'd like to See PD leave sony and make GT for PC. I think Sony is starting to hold them back bigtime. Without a big company hovering over them, they are limitless.. Unless they turn evil and become EA or Activision..
