Just to clarify (having a bit of a dumb moment here)

I have a UK PSN, and an Irish PSN - and I'm living in Ireland.... If I purchase the DLC for my Irish account, in December I will receive the free "family pack" and that will make it accessible for my UK account?

After this December update you can purchase a second car and so on from the dealer.

Next, don’t get your hopes up too high, but PDI is also readying a X-mas present for those who’ve already bought multiple DLCs.

There are probably going to be some strange people who are going to buy another DLC just so they can get the christmas present :D

Someone wrote how it would be good if he didn't have to buy it for his kid's account. Kaz replied, that is the right idea and asked for more time.

Thank you for this translation, Speedy Samurai. :) I believe, Kazunori's response to this tweet is a key point. And I find it very interesting. To me it may just mean there is a much larger debate currently waging behind the scenes at Sony.

In my opinion, what we've just seen take place with DLC (or unlock codes, if you want to call it that) only being available for one single PSN ID and only being available for download once, was no accident. It signified a key strategy change by Sony. Reading through the myriad of mostly misdirected complaints and frustration, aimed mainly at PD, I began to suspect that all DLC in the future, available through the PSN store, would be tied to a single account. It's not hard to imagine why Sony would do this. As it currently stands, it's easy to abuse the system. (I won't say more specifically as it's likely an AUP violation to do so). I've never taken part in any such scheme myself but I long wondered how long Sony would allow it to continue, when the system they have in place, in an effort to be "customer friendly" allows people to actively steal content.

And my reaction upon hearing this story unfold was "Ah-hah, now they've finally done it." Unfortunately, in typical bumbling Sony fashion, the very nature of the PSN and people with multiple PSN accounts, mean that to suddenly institute such a change in policy, so abruptly, was potentially far worse than locking out the "Other O/S" option. There are people who have one master account and use several sub-accounts for themselves and or other family members to play. These people, legitimate paying customers, are obviously being hurt by this.

There's no doubt in my mind that Kaz's tweet, translated above by Speed Samurai, by no longer simply stating that it's "hard" to find a solution, but now publicly, agreeing that it's an unfair situation, was politically motivated. I wonder now if Sony will do an about face. To me, this goes much further than GT5 DLC. I believe this has implications for ALL PS3 DLC.

Kaz_Yamauchi ?????

Nice. At least he put a warning for those who over react. That should keep the whining to a minimum.

Yes and I bet the Christmas present will be a Chrome Jaguar since we've pretty much all got that one.:sly:

Its unbelievable how much he cares about GT and its fans. Thank you so much. I really hope you guys can get rid of Sony, the greedy a-holes are ruining GT. I would be so happy if one day Sony leaves PD. That would make my day.

Well, thats good for some. But not great for others. Looks like i have to pass on the DLC because my main account is Canadian, but i live in the UK and had to buy that version. :(

....id gladly re-buy a North American version if i knew that my UK save file would work with the Amercian disk. Anyone know???

Wow, i think GT5 is really gonna pick up now, i think now that Spec II is out it seems like PD will be more focused and doing alot more stuff for us.
Thanks Kaz!

I think you will have issues with the saved data from another region. The DLC will probably actually work, not sure about the saved data. Create a UK account and buy the DLC from there.

It would likely be something like this:

Kaz "We have a matter to discuss about the conditions for running PDI."

Sony "Before we get to that, we have been thinking about replacing you with a hobo we found in Honolulu during our last conference. Now, what did you want to discuss?"

Kaz " ... I quit, and the entire PDI team is coming with me."

So another Update great news Kaz .

Nice to see that they will use a Family Pack idea in future DLCs which of course is still more profitable to Sony . :grumpy:

 Ahaha good one. Seriously, I would be happy for the team if they could get away from Sony and have some freedom. 👍

So someone who wants to use the DLC but doesn't have the right account/disc account combination won't be able to use it at all. What about countries without ps stores?

OH 🤬 YES! THIS IS THE PD WE KNOW AND LOVE!!!
Ahem, I'm really glad that with the update we'll eventually be able to buy the cars from the dealership, this made my day. I guess Kaz is really a cool guy after all. Kaz

I agree, I'd bet money this is a reaction to all the people who had multiple PSN accounts and used them to download all 5 "free" games they had out after the PSN outage as opposed to the only 2 they were supposed to get..

Kaz's Twitter has really Increased PD's statues as Community Friendly .Hope they Keep it up ,Exciting times ahead that is for sure.

Quick? The fix itself isn't coming until December.

Are you gonna start your whining?!! They work their as:censored: off to solve this big issue and that's your response?! I wanna see what other Developers are gonna do when this happens to their games. Doubt they will fix it.

It works like that for every other add-on content that was available so far, for example the GT-R GT500 stealth car.

Sadly no it won't work. For me it's the other way around. Us account and euro/uk gt5..

...except that you can't have multiples in your garage of the existing DLC (ex. GT-R GT500 Stealth, Schick Camaro).
