Kenny's Muscle Car Competition Week 9

I didn't know the Parisians were interested in street racing :)

Haven't you seen the movie taxi (1998)? :)
And i believe that a part of the younger population of france likes to race on the street (with driving license and insurrance or without)
no offense to the french users here :)

hmm, i have 2 entries left, maybe i can make one with car from the movie

I haven't seen the movie but the reviews made it sound fairly interesting, I'd like to see that opening sequence they talked about.

the opening sequence is funny. the guy from the taxi is racing with a pizza delivery scooter. The sparks fly all over the place when he takes a corner :)
there are already 3 taxi movies and the american taxi movie is a remake of the first one

I must say that the opening scene in Taxi 2 is even greater. The camera is following one of the greatest french rally drivers in history somewhere in the mountains. He gives all he's got and then the taxi comes into his mirror. :)
The rally driver is like. "Hey, Gilles (surreal name, just f.e.) is catching up to me."
Co driver: "impossible were going flat out".
driver: "but still somebody is man"
co driver: " it's a taxi".... :dopey:

The next turn the taxi takes the inside wtih handbrake and goes over the rallycar, wwOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEEEeeeeeeeeemm.

Pretty cool movies with some great french humor in it. But you have to be European to really appreciate and understand it i believe. (the humor part)

Plus a great thing in the series (taxi 1, 2) is things come back. Some kind of running gag.

i've got to rent it then. i only saw the first on because it was on tv not long ago

I know it's a bit late (sorry!), hopefully they will still count. If not, enjoy anyways:

Welcome to the results for our ninth week of competition.

The level of quality keeps going up each week. :)

The other people rounding out my top 10 are treefingers, speedy_samurai, suzq044, Kavster05, and Thirdeye.

Buggymaster's masterful work resulted in this masterpiece. Wow, such a grand opening for 5th place :D However, only the blurred Camaro wheels in this picture suggests that they are racing that hard against each other, it almost looks posed.

The addition of the streetlights makes this shot look like real street-racing. This picture was posted by somebody entering my competition. I love how the lines flow perfectly on the front left side of the orange Vette. My only gripe is that it seems too dark.

What better place to do an improptu street race than the crowded streets of downtown NY in Times Square? Mymkovski smartly included the American flag - symbolizing how drag racing is a real American past-time. We Americans go in a straight line while the rest of the world actually has to do things like brake and steer (unless the car gets out of hand) :P

Atlop returns with a remarkable second place. Nice and professional, the cars look pretty real. The only problem is that they are nearly standing still - although I do realize from personal experience that it is extremely tough to get two cars side by side in focus and keeping the wheels blurred.

The winner is Zubicar for our ninth week of competition. What an awesome shot. I like the tilted skyscrapers, the Cuda is relatively clean for being so close up, the Superbird has just the right amount of blur, and the mix of colors is exciting. Well done!

Well done Zubicar, and everybody else of course.

I was trying to get the feeling of dusk/early evening but it came out wrong. Considering I didn't have time to set up proper shots this last week, I'm more than happy to get a top 5.

Thank You all for your comments and I am sorry to post this so late but I have a lot of work.

Thanks again!
