Post your "kills" or wins here, you know, you're driving around and you're at a light, someone needs to get into your lane and they want to get ahead of you, now is that going to happen? Hopefully no, so post your latest kills here, list the car you were in, the car the other driver was in, the speed limit, the speed you went, and who won, and a discription of what happened, don't be ashamed if you didn't win.

Well, tonight is Thanksgiving, and my bro takes his MX-6 cause he wanted to go to somewhere first and the rest of us took the MPV. So we are ready to go home, me and my bro atleast, so I scam in a ride with him cause I was bored. So we're on our way home, virtually the same way that we took home from my highschool last year, in the same car too. So we get to the main street that my street is off of, Craig road, and we are at the light, a double turn and we are in the inside lane cause the outside one ends, and the only other person on the road, a '95 or so Maxima, pulls up next to us, edging up to get a jump start on us and we saw it. So my bro's like "this guy's gonna race us" so I'm like "probably not..." and the light turns green, this guy does a hard accelleration, it was an automatic, so my bro also goes, and the Maxima had a little lead cause we didn't know if he was actually gonna race or if he's just playing. So the race is on, he goes full gas and we do too, and we killed him and he got behind us cause his lane ended, and he was like 15 car lengths back. We went about 78 in a 35(no one, no one was on the road at all). Brought back the memories :)

So anyone else race anyone lately?

P.S.-I don't suggest racing or endorse it, but come on if no one is on the road, it's worth a shot. Why would they make cars fast if no one would go fast in them?

My List Is Too Long,
When I am driving the Viper it is funny cause everyone who pulls up next to you revs there engine and tries to have a go at you. I get people in minivans and people in civics and trucks, it is hilarious. My races usually consist of a 10 second dash and then it is all pretty much over from there. My last victim was a Stealth about 2 days ago :) I used to like racing in the lightning cause most people dont know what that truck is capable of and I was never beat once in it.

Well, I can remember two times recently on your theme -

The last time was a few weeks ago and I was in my Jeep. A fellow in a Mirage coupe (so you know he's stupid) pulled into the right lane from a cross-street. His lane immediately ended, so he tried to force his way into my lane. I didn't let him in, and, along the same reason he bought a Mirage coupe, he just angled his car into my lane, so I hit him. Ha! Not much of a race story, though.

The last time I had something of an actual street race was last Spring break when I went to Arizona to watch baseball's spring training. I had just arrived late at night, and I was supposed to rent a Mazda 626ish car. When the bus pulled up at the spot, the car was a white Monte Carlo with expired North Carolina license plates. Anyway, I had just pulled out of the lot and someone in an 850 came up next to me at the light at the highway interchange where his lane ended across the intersection. He revved like he wanted to race me (he saw my NC plates and my car so he probably thought I was some NASCAR nut) but I really had no idea where I was or where I was going, yet I egged him on anyway. When the light turned green, he accelerated away, leaving the line much faster than I ever thought an 850 could. Which is when I noticed the 850R designation. Cheater.

Kills, my best kills were two Hondas at once.
I was coming off of the interstate and saw these two hondas racing through traffic.
I wouldnt have payed attention if it were not for them cutting ppl off and being rude.
I had to teach them a lesson.
When I finally got through the traffic, I caught up to them and gave it 3/4 throttle to let them know I was in. They never caught up the approached another traffic light.
With cars ahead, we managed to get in the open again and we gunned it and left them, only to slow down, give them the thumbs up and leave them again.
Next light we all line up and we're at a roll.
Turns green and this time I give it the gusto and just demolish them. The prelude was about 3 car lengths by third gear and the Honda was almost out of sight.
They wound up turning off and I made a u-turn to go home and what do you know, here they come out of the same drive that they went in.
I gunned it, caught up to the Honda, gave a thumbs up and left both to go home.
Talk about an adrenalin rush, WOW. It was so cool to see the drivers nudge forward to make their fast cars catch up to me. :haha:
It was like a dream and am thankful there were no cops. Im thankful we didnt hit anyone and could have even considered the driving dangerous, but it was fun.
If you street race (which I rarely do), do it safely and count your blessings.

Man, what kind of story is this. We dont even know what car you were driving!

Uh, it should say it at the bottom in my sig.
Oh, Im running 9.325 in the 1/8 and a slow 15.6 in the 1/4.
Its pretty quick for a Cavalier and have respect from the import guys at the track. It was funny to see their faces when I ran the 9.3 in the 1/8. I even had a guy say to me that hes never seen a Cavalier that can beat his car (runs 75 shot nitrous) and wanted to look under the hood.
The only Hondas that are hard to beat are the b16 and b18 swapped cars. Those run in the low 15's to mid 14's all motor.
Ill be there soon with a few more tweaks to the exhaust and larger throttlebody and log style intake manifold. Cams are next and then Ill be for real. ;) :D
Misnblu
Oh, 12 second Civic, I see you did the motor swap. ;) Ever do an all motor run in that thing before the turbo??

kills, kills, kills...

with TurboTegra (nice nickname... )

99 Mustang GT
Impreza 2.5 RS (he really got away on the start, 4wd ownzzz!)
Jetta VR6 (he never came close... poor fella)

and with the Prelude, only got to "beat" a riced out Sunfire... and i didn't even try!

My most recent kill was in the 'Scort a few weeks ago.
I pull out of the Hospital at about 8:00pm and pull up to the light and this Civic with a coffee can exhaust pulls up and I wouldn't have even noticed him, but he revved on me.

So, I let him take off for the next light and caught up next to him.
At the green, which I was anticipating, I got the holeshot and burned him to the next light, then the light after that.
I would have really burned him bad if I wasn't running the A/C compressor to keep the 'Scort from overheating.

Nice kills ppl.
PunkRock, you cheat man. :haha:
Just kidding but you ve got to admit, the turbo is the icing on the cake of kills. ;)

yep, a lot funnier with the boost... can't wait to crank it up for next summer, i've got plans for 300 @ the wheels... 😈 with the stripped interior and the gummy BFG Drag Radials, it's gonna be a beast

that's the problem with turbos, you can't get enough. i've got 180 whp, i want 300. and when i'll have 300, i'll want 500!

Lol, so is the game of speed.
Money ='s speed and it can get expensive.
Now just make that thing a sleeper and hope I never run across you on the street. Id take a whippin and feel bad losing to a Teg.
You doing any internal work on it or just getting an intercooler?
Im sure your using a turbo timer and controller on that thing.
Anyway, good luck on your goals, sounds like youll be running in the 12's by then. ;)
Misnblu

already got the internals, in a box under my bed... :D totally sleeperized the car out, sold my 16'' Rota C8s for some 15'' Integra GS-R rims... i'm considering hiding the intercooler with panty hoses, to make it look stealthier (not to mention somewhat waterproof). it's already running high 13s (barely, but still!) so i want low 13s or high 12s for next summer, that's for sure!

Since I have been in so many street races it isn't even funny, I wont go over the old ones, even though some are pretty funny considering up until about 8 months ago I drove a 1990 Honda Civic that was faster than a Dodge Viper or Porsche 911 Turbo. Anyways......

I will start today and since I usually get in one race per day, I will be adding to this thread often.

I was in the Jaguar XJ6, 5 Spd Automatic, 238hp and 277lb-ft TQ 4.0L DOHC Inline-6. So, I was coming home from school at 3:15 and I was at a red light going straight, and up beside me pulls a 1990 RX-7 Turbo II (White) and the guy is just sitting there. So I start to creep forward and I pulled off a few squeals with some torque loading by holding the brakes. So the guy looks over and is like all of a sudden totally excited and has this huge grin. So I have the brakes held and the throttle at about 1/4, and in anticipation of the greem light, I lay on the throttle and just before I expected the light to be green the wheels break loose and then the light turns green. The RX-7 leaped away and then I locked up and jumped pretty aggressively. Then I was about 2 car lengths back and just holding at the same distance as this guy for about 150ft. Then I shift and start pulling on him because the Jag has low end power where as the RX-7 has power all around from its turbo. Then I see his car dip when he shifted and then he just slowly started to take off, we are going about 110km or 66MPH and I let off. The RX-7 kept going until he was about 1/4 mile away. I would say he was going maybe 150km when he slowed down.

Sadly I lost fair and square but I know I could have stayed neck and neck or kept in front of him for all of 1st gear depending on my launch timing.

Looks like you were owned on that one 12sec.Civic. ;)
Nice story and almost kill.
I think the RX-7 would beat you again in another race.
With the twin turbo setup and properly driven, it can be pretty quick.
You must really like the Jag. Knowing that Jags arent sports cars and the inline 6 is not exactly a screamer, I dont really see you staying with a stock rx7tt.
I guess you got the holeshot on that one and yes the torque will get you the first 50 mph and then thats where the RX7 takes over and owns you.
Since you had your fast Civic, I bet you have a lot of tales of kills with that one.
There was a friend of mine that had a mid 12's Civic and was a total sleeper, all the way down to the dulled paint.
He really enjoyed killing and owning Vettes, Z28's and many that thought they were fast. His biggest thrill was losing them in a race and watching the expression on their faces. Thats priceless.

No, no ,no!!! I was not racing a '93 and up Twin Turbo RX-7. I would have absolutely no chance.

I was racing a 1990 RX-7 Turbo like this:
turboii.jpg

Or like this one:
phill%20lawerance.jpg

The one with the single turbo and 190-200hp.

Man, I would have no chance against a newer RX-7 TT like this one:

I will instigate a race with anyone. I just love it, however the Jag doesnt like it very much!
I would race a Viper if they wanted to. I often surprise myself and others with the Jag though. Like I have already described; 1st gear is very quick but 2nd gear just doesnt seem right. But at highway speeds, it can go from 100-120kms in under 5 seconds I'd guess.

Here is a list of cars I have killed from about 0-60 kms/h (* indicates I can beat them up to whatever speed)(** means I can spank them):
Integra GSR
Honda Civic Si (B16A)**
VW Corrado VR6
Ford Probe*
Pre-87 Mustang V8 and Post-'92 Mustang V8's**
Camaro V6 and older V8's*
Taurus SHO**
Honda Accords** (not '03 V6)
Nissan Altimas** (not V6)

My list ends there. The integra's are the funnest because I have never seen one have a good launch, there little 1.8 bogs down and I am already 2-3 car lengths ahead. I hate when they finally pass at like 80km and they act like they have won, well they sort of have I guess!

Taurus SHO's are the funnest because it is ALWAYS some sleazy white guy (I am white too but you know what I mean) in the dirty part of town. They always think they are SO macho. In fact here is another quick story:

On my way from the liquor store at like 2 AM, me, 1 guy and 2 girls in the Jag (read sig for details). At a light, some LOSER in a Dark blue or black Taurus SHO (around 93) pulls up on my right; On the front window are huge letters that say "SHO OFF" and the back has huge white letters saying "ENJOY THE SHO!" so we are talking major loser, ok anyways. We are at a blinking red light so in other words, go when its safe. I stop out of safety and so does he, then he does like a mini peel right as I decide to drive off. I hammer it and the Jag just shifts all of its weight and quickly mutes my back wheels which were whimpering a bit (I also believe it had just rained). So I am just pulling right up on him like nobodies business, he is like as stunned as I am because his SHO was seriously not working properly or something. ANyways, I just go right by him about as fast as youd go by a stationary object at about 15kms/h. I get about 6 car lengths away and I had to get in my left lane to turn left at a light. So I have plenty of time to stop and pull into the left turn lane before he catches up. So I am stopped at this left turn lane even though there are no oncoming cars coming, and this asSHOle comes careening past me at like 75km straight out of the right lane, cuts right in front of my nose and comes like 3 feet from clipping my bumper, with all 4 of his tires squealing and then just drives off like a cun-t. If I had decided to go like 2 seconds earlier he would have nailed me. I turned down the road I was originally going down and which he had just gone down as well but I didn't want to catch him for fear of him being violent or something.

So that was my SHO Kill story. happened like 4 months ago in maybe June 2002.

Here is a Taurus SHO similar to the one I raced but this one is white instead of black:

LOL yes the lil man has come through again!

Hehe, a read would be nice I reckon.

Since I had the shunt, I've calmed down quite a lot. I'm now the guy who'll go faster cross-country. My best on that was pulling 1/2 mile off a Honda Accord Type R over a 5 mile stretch. What was I driving? A 12-year-old 1.1L Renault 5!

I also love outbraking people into roundabouts - it really winds up TT drivers when you sail up the inside of them!

Before the shunt I was a bit mad, especially in the Impreza. Had a race with a 928 which was quite one-sided as he never overcame the lead I picked up after my 4500rpm clutch dump. Probably the two cars are level on outright pace, but as PunkRock so eloquently put it, 4wd ownzzz.

The funniest was at a 4 lane intersection. I was in lane 2, and a TVR Chimera 5.0 was in lane 4. We're sizing each other up, and as the lights turn green, a Nissan Primera whumps through lane 3. I was like "EH???", but me and the TVR just launched off the line, and by the time I was in 2nd gear, we'd both pulled past the Primera, me and the TVR pretty much neck and neck.

That was an interesting run actually. We were level through 1st and second, then in 3rd and 4th I pulled away a little, certainly right at the top end of each gear. So I'm about a length and a half ahead of him, when I got to about 115, and the car ran into its aerodynamic wall. With more power and a better shape, the TVR was not so encumbered, and wandered off.

Back on the cross-country theme, I was doing a run with the Impreza Drivers' Club. We were on a real Scottish Highland road - reasonable surface, 2 lanes, some cracking corners. I was leading a group who'd all said they wanted to go really fast. We all left at the same time, and went through an 18 mile leg, from Banchory to Fettercairn. I arrived three minutes before the 2nd car.

Rumple, Ive seen the Vipers run at the track and they arent all that.
Not knocking the Vipers at all but just because its a Viper doesnt mean its the fastest out there.
Heh, Ive seen Vettes dog the Vipers at my track and never even get traction until the traps so please dont hold up the Vipers to God like status.
Btw, most Vipers run in the low to mid 12's (stock) and have yet to see one (highly modified) to run better. The biggest hinderance to the Vipers is traction. ;)
Now, seeing how Im going to get flamed on this post, let the fire retardant jacke save my butt from the fiery licks of passion.

Ha, we beat this little kid in a riced out Civic once.

He rolls up to us, and revs his engine deciding to try and race a station wagon. He had a girl in the car, what do you expect. My dad looks over, then turns to me and goes: "Wanna go for it?" And, naturally, I said yes. Dad clicked on the sport option (makes the gears shift quicker) and waited for the light to turn green. As all this was happening, the kid was revving his engine. The light turned green, and off we go. Ha, it was awesome. We beat the little ricer by about 3 carlengths, The Saab is faster than it looks. So at the next stoplight, the ricer is next to us again. My dad just looks over, winks at him, and speeds off when the light turns green.

It was awesome.

I know a farmer who has an old Range Rover with a Rover V8 in it. His wife loves burning boy racers off the lights.

i know not the best, but you still need a lot of work to best me

and i like my viper not for the 1/4 mile, but for the 4 mile straight aways :D
try and keep up with me then

I just laugh when I race cars like civics and that then after beating them they will say that "Oh, you drive a Viper and you only beat my by a couple lengths." And thats funny to me cause there tricked out cars are made for 1/4 mile while my Viper is not. Maybe I just barely beat them at 1/4 mile, but how about if we were on a 1 mile strech, or a 2 mile strech?
So, thats nice that your civics and ITR's are pulling high 12's, but how fast can they get to 180 Mph? What? They cant? Ah, too bad, cause I can as well as pulling out nice 1/4 miles. :D

Rump,
Stomping on "unsuspecting" Hondas with an "inconspicuous" bright Yellow Viper. Shame on you running riced out Hondas in sleeper like a Viper.
It's not like they know the VIPER is fast. Give the boys a break.

In the immortal words of Martin Lawrence in "Black Knight": ...Punks jump up to get beat down".
