I remember my first time racing against a Silverado and thinking to myself, Ill never beat a v8. I beat him by 2/10's.
Ive even seen some of the older GT Mustangs with burley sounding engines get beat by me, be it in the 1/8 or 1/4. :D
V8 doesnt always mean fast, torquey yes, not fast.
Alf, they just know your the man when wrapped around a WRX.
Oh, wait until the Evolution VII comes to the shores this Spring, youll then have mucho challenges then. ;)

The Evo doesn't really scare me that much. I know that no one in my town can afford it anyway. ;)

Besides, most people around here that have faster cars don't know how to drive them. There's a kid in town with a very nice GSX Eclipse. AWD, turbo, intake, exhaust. Got his butt handed to him by a Civic. DX. NA. With only intake/muffler.

This morning I was in the Type 2 and a red Sentra SE-R pulled up next to me, he revved because he had seen me race my car before and he knew that I was going to drive the Type 2 today. To make a not so long story shorter, my auto beat his MT by 1 car length, he said I jumped the green light but he did and I had to play catch up.

The other day on Boggs road, in Gwinnett County I was in my black legend when this white accord ex that lives down the road pulls up next to me, he had never seen my car before, I've known the guy since freshman year but he had an exhaust and a manual but he only had a chance off the line, after 1st gear I just pulled away.

My best friend David, better known as SpoonSports here, got his license the other day and he has a 94 Lude V-tec so we decided to race, and this was the closest race yet. He had me off the line since he has manual but after I shifted into 2nd I caught up a little every spilt second and I barely beat him, it was a matter of inches, my stock 91 Legend against his stock 94 Lude with V-tec and MT, I cant wait til I get my Teg and soup it up.

Since I am out of stories, I will tell one that I heard, eavesdropping in the bar.

A guy is with his Dad in their MB S55 AMG. A 2001 911 Turbo pulls up at the lights. The S55 got a jump on the 911 but the 911 caught up by the end of 1st. When the 911 shifted the S55 took about 1 and 1/2 car lengths on him. but then the 911 pulled up to them, and got a few lengths in front. So the 911 is about 2 car lengths ahead by the end of 2nd. When the 911 driver shifted to 3rd he got his lead cut in half by the S55. But as soon as the 911 driver caught 3rd gear he was apparently outta there.

This is a classic case of a 911 driver who cant operate a stick shift and the S55 with the Auto just winning on consistency, although the 911 did pull away.

The guy said that they were going about 190km/h when they let off.
