Bahrain: Brake killer, but what a great track plenty of chances for overtaking, take Ferrari out and it wouldve been a great race

I agree. What a great track. They really showed they could put on a show. I think it has some great potential for good battles in future seasons.

Man i just rembered the BARS Brakes were lit up.

Every cars brakes light up in every sinlge race because of the massive heat cause by friction when braking. It's just that the camera angles at Bahrain showed it off quite alot, especially on the BAR.

I am agreeing with you we will see good races on that racing track and also alot of over taking points. But dont you think it would be alot better if all the cars had the same engine specifications? That way it would be driver versus driver:cool:

That's not what Formula 1 is about. It's about who the best manufacturer is and who the best driver is.It would be less exiting if it were equal IMO.

ya F1 is about top end driving and enginnering. You pay for the best and develop the best to the top degree. if other teams can't match your performance sucks to be them. That is the way it is. It is the reaosn I love Ferrari so much as they symbolize to me what F1 is.

if you want spec cars watch F3000 or NASCAR. Both have their nice points but neither matches F1 or comes remotely close.....

I reckon that having the best car and driver is great, up to a point, and that point is when Mario Theissen (sp?) says that Ferrari are almost unbeatable this season after the third race. Ferrari have done very well to get to where they are today, considering where they were ten years ago, but I have a feeling that this season will go the same way 2002 did; Ferrari will win everything and F1 will lose the public's interest. Only the most devoted F1 fans will watch the races. Say what you like about the best team and the best engineering and such, Formula One is, at the end of it all, a business that goes racing every other weekend; if one person is winning all the time then only fans of that person and the most devoted otherwise will care. Which isn't good for business, and therefore for F1.

All of which is my own humble opinion.

As for the race, it was great for everyone who was third or lower. Unfortunately Ferrari walked it again.

BAR was first and second at one point, which was nice. Even though it was in the pit stops.

Ralf needs to get his act together, and quickly. When he's good he is great, but when he isn't he's terrible. And we see terrible more often then great. Such as last Sunday.

Montoya was unlucky not to get third.

Mclaren were cack; four engine failures in the three races for Kimi. No championship for him this year.

Good fighting from Alonso; first with Webber, then Massa.

Klein did well early on, showing he had the confidence, if not the car, to overtake Kimi and make it stick.

I can't even remember the Toyotas even being there, though the must have been. Didn't see them all race.

All in all, a good race. More like that please, but with fights for wins and not over third.

:embarrassed:

Formula One is the best of the best technologically. It's not so much about drivers but about how frieken fast the team can make the car go. That's not to say that there isn't driving skill because there is. But skill won't do anything without the right team. I watch F1 because they are the best cars in the world. I watch champcars because they often have the most exciting racing in the world. So if you want to see fast cars watch F1 but if you want ot see close racing on equal terms watch something else.

I don't think you all should be blaming Webber for his defensive moves on Alonso.

He was getting very mixed signals about whether Fernando was lapping him or passing him (for position).

The marshals were waving blue flags at him but his team were yelling in his ear that he was racing for position.
He didn't do a brake test either. He just let off the accellerator so that Alonso could get past.

I get this news from a very reliable source and it's further backed up by the fact that Webber went up to Alonso after the race to apologise and explain...
