King of the Track: The Community vs C.J Wilson

Do you get sent the car straight away?
I wasn't expecting the Pagani because I don't have DLC, but I though I would at least get the Stradale
 
Are you guys on a pad or a wheel with those times?! Anyone with a Fanatec wheel, please share your settings! From what I remember last night in my daze, I pulled some dozen or so laps and was averaging at best 1:18.3xx, but I think I might have done a lucky lap of 1:15.8xx (unless I was just staring at one of my car club members' times lol.)

Going to try with a pad maybe tonight to see how off I am. I used my CSR, Thomas settings (and tried adjusting just drift setting from +3 to 0), sim steering, no assists.

I want the unicorn!!!
 
I managed to set a 1:09:xxx and then just I was beginning to feel the car my pedals broke and fanatec want money to send me a new set as they dont make the standard pedals anymore :(
 
i did a 1:13.149, will i get the unicorn... his time is 1:13.980 so i just wants some clarification on this

Here are my CSR settings and i'm at a 1.07.8. FF in game at 75%. SEN-270. FF-70- and everthying else the way it came out of the box. This is with sim steering. To be honest I don't worry about settings on the wheel its all about repatition. Once you get used to something you should stick with it. Your only gonna get better.

I definitely got better the more I tried, but kept messing up on 1 of 2 areas. In both turns I just whipped the wheel too much too fast so the car got squirly. Once I was putting down consistent times I was trying to push it more on certain areas but it doesn't feel just right. I'm doing SEN-900, FF-100 on wheel but I don't recall what I set the game to. I might need to try it set to 270. Unless I modify and tune the car, stock cars in FM4 in general are a bit harder to control, at least for me

Maybe it's just been so long from me playing with a wheel on xbox and I got used to GT5 w/DFGT. Kinda like when I was used to 270 on my Logi MOMO on PC sims like GTR :dunce:

Just trying to find my sweet spot. In some of my cars I got settings I like using, and I lower sensitivity to 540 or 480 for faster GT/P type of cars. Love the adjustability of my setup to be honest.
 
After I beat Mr. Wilson's time, I quit....I hate this car and track, so I did just enough to get the Ferrari. :sly:
 
I happen to like this track. Maybe my average skill level is the cause here but turn 1 is so rewarding when you nail it, then turn 3 (where you always bump the cone on the inside on your 1st lap...) and the shortcut between sctions from the full circuit is always interesting with a rwd...:D

Again, I only beat Wilson by 1.5 seconds so maybe better drivers just get bored with it.:)
 
Am I right in thinking you got the Pagani for taking part and posting an LB time, or did it have to be faster than Wilson's?

For the Pagani you had to post a 'qualifying time' but I don't think anyone knows what time that was

To receive in-game Pagani Huayra, you must log into Forza Motorsport 4 game (sold separately) and race in the King of the Track Rivals event using the 2007 Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe on Road Atlanta Club PRIOR to 11:59 PM PT January 31, 2012. Car will be sent in-game during the week of February 6th, 2012. Limit 1 per gamertag.




To receive in-game 2003 Ferrari Challenge Stradale with the CJ Wilson theme, you must log into Forza Motorsport 4 game (sold separately) and beat CJ Wilson’s time (Gamertag Cjwilson33) in the King of the Track Rivals event using the 2007 Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe on Road Atlanta Club PRIOR to 11:59 PM PT January 31, 2012. So if I read that correctly.. You get a Pagani for taking part.. and a Ferrari for going faster than CJ

Of course you'll need to own the January DLC to make use of the Pagani as well ;)
 
Can someone clear this up for me? Do we have to download his ghost and beat it, or do we simply have to just beat the 1:13.xxx time racing any ghost? I ran a 1:12.xxx on my second lap but I was racing a different ghost. I'm assuming that still counts towards the time though.

I'd assume we don't have to hunt down his ghost and specifically beat it - especially if we're already under his time.

I've been using this event as the one to finally ween me onto full manual w/ clutch, and I've seen my times tumble. I'm on the cusp of 1:09's with the pad, and I'm wondering how much further I can really push it. Must... order... wheel...
 
I beat CJ's time! With a pad, not a wheel, 1:13.840 :P
Going to try to match or beat that pad time with my wheel now. I followed what most were saying on the web about keeping it only in 3rd and 4th gears throughout the track and braking a little earlier than norm or lifting off the throttle which allowed me to keep my speed up through the twisties. I was 2+seconds slower with a pad and wheel doing my original aggressive technique and now I just need to replicate my time with a wheel :D
 
Last night I ran the CJ challenge and got around 1:11. I go to the Facebook app to check the time and it has me down for a 1:22. Not getting it. Is this a "standing start" time only challenge or something (even then I should be alot faster than 1:22)

Are they judging it by the facebook app? I checked mine last night and was 1:25/1:26 and I don't think I ran that time. Wanted to check today in case it wasn't updated.
Read on fm.net's site that the facebook app isn't right. Saw the top guys listed were like 1:07-1:08 range and I doubt you can pull that time off on your first lap from a standing start. If it is then whoa those guys are awesome and super fast
