I don't understand why everyone is reading articles about another article, why don't you just link and quite the original IGN article...

Anyway my money is on TT2.

"Need for Steed"... I haven't laughed so much about a videogame related joke since a friend kept swearing at another driver who cut him off in real life, and his girlfriend said... "What is this Grand Tourette'smo?"
We now use this phrase whenever anyone swears in a car.

I have a feeling bikes won't be in the game. There is no reason to. Tourist Trophy was the last "full fledged" PD has made besides GTPSP. I have a feeling if they made TT2, it would work a little like the way Activision handles the Call of Duty series in the recent past. The release one that is modern, and one WW2 style. Both games are great, but if they combined modern with classic, that would screw up the balance of the games.

-> No, no, no! We don't want the worlds collide! TT must stay in TT, and GT must stay in GT. The reason why TT kinda floped because MotoGP was released about the same time (I think), plus there wasn't much of a promotion of the game. :indiff:
I dunno', I think TT "flopped" because it was not exactly brimming with modes and features like its big brother, content was lacking, and it didn't really get the promotion it deserved.

Would I be happy with bikes in GT5? Sure, I guess... It would make for some interesting race options that's for sure, especially if you could mix and match them on the track with cars. Having said that, I would much prefer a proper sequel to TT, with enough content to make it stand out as a fully-fledged game in its own right.

I would love a few bikes (Scooters - high end bikes) but only a few as a DLC and race my brother split screen between a car and bike.

Both games share so much data, especially tracks, why not have both on one BluRay?

I really want both games, and I don't care if they share a disc or not.

Gran Turismo series has always treated only with four-wheel vehicles. However, in Gran Turismo 5 will be perhaps also motorcycles. This information can be taken seriously - because it comes straight from Polyphony Digital studio guru, Kazunoriego Yamauchi.

Its a little pedantic of me, but what about this:

Benz_Patent_Motorwagen_1886_(Replica).jpg

I count 3 wheels.

I think it should be separate & maybe PD can get licences for the AMA World Superbike Championship, Supersports 600 races, Isle Of Mann TT Championship, Irish Bike Championship ( forgot what it's called ) & Thunderbike etc ( can't get MotoGP Namco has this & WSB Championship ).Could also get licensed manufacturers one make race series ( BMW Boxer Cup ) & i know Honda discontinued a CB500 Championship around 10 years ago. Also off road races too like the Dakar championship, Moto X, Hill climb events, trials bike events too. Also what about a Supermoto championship .This could be the next TT2.Would be great to sell your bike to another rider, as your career progresses or you keep it in your own museum or manufacturers museums.

Speaking of the TT circuit & i rejected the idea, this could be another track in GT5 with other famous road circuits.I know there is another road circuit like the TT & the Irish road race, but i've forgot where it is & the name of the championship.I think it might be the first road based track in Irland to be raced on, can anyone remember it.I know the ex rally co-driver Tony Mason went there a few times.

Thunderbike is a great example of racing, because the races are based on the power to weight ratio formula. So you can race tuned heavyweight bikes like a Suzuki GSXR1100 with equal power to weight as a 185kg 91 Honda CBR600FM.You can bring home brewed custom made bikes, to the party as long as it is the same power to weight as the next bike.Tuned road bikes & home brewed machines are the bikes allowed. This is because you can modify whatever you want to each bike & would be an unfair advantage if someone arrived with a Honda RC211V MotoGP bike in a field of ZX10's.

Also needed is race teams, sponsorship, feeling the advantage of weight saving parts exhaust systems, wheels, brake systems, race fairings etc .Adjustable parts not only suspension settings, brake bias for Hondas linked brakes things like steering damper settings, carburettor balancing & tuning including upgrades, ecu fuel map changes via the powercommander & upgrading chips or upgrading the whole ecu.Engine tuning like fitting turbos ( Holeshot Racing Hayabusa etc ), increasing engine capacity etc.Loads of tuning options are available.Buy bigger chain & sprockets for higher top speed or smaller for increased acceleration.Quickshift gearboxes, thumb operated brakes, STACK digital dashes, crash bobbins, Harris footpegs, steering & suspension & similar from other companies.A huge variety of exhaust manufacturers out there too. Some road tyres have both hard and soft compound tyres for touring & for some fun too, so there is shared compounds in tyres. So many different tyre manufactrers, & leads me to say there are different recommeded makes & models of tyres for each motorbike.Could upgrade the brake hoses to braided stainless pipes.Lighting upgrades. Some bikes are fitted with slipper clutches like the Kawasaki ZX10R superbike. Some Ducatis have dry multiplate clutches & includes the well known clutch plate rattle ( Paul Smart Duke 1000 ).

Should also include a number of real drag strips if PD go ahead with Tourist Trophy 2.Could be used for racing, not only for testing. If someone mentions rewind i'm going to slap you.

A great structure for more serious racing games, would be no option for you to press restart the race & is restarted because of bad weather or an accident via the race rules. The only way to leave the game without losing the championship, would be saving the game or it would take forever to complete the Championships.

Would be amazing if some famous roads are included, just for a bit of light hearted fun.If anyone here knows a place called Matlock, you know where i'm talking about & the towns & roads leading to Matlock. It's biker heaven down there :).Don't include the Cat & Fiddle road to Macclesfield, there is too many Police cars & bikes along there.

Also some bikes are terrible for false neutrals like some of the early to mid 90's Honda CBR600s & other various bikes ( due to the riders foot not being positive with the gear lever & can also be how the gearbox was built ).Also would be simulated better, when the player causes false neutrals. The gears in most modern bikes are straight cut gears with dry or oil bath type multiplate clutches.

The Suzuki TL1000S is notorious for tank slappers, where by the handle bars can violently shake out of your hands, under hard acceleration & during sudden deceleration. This is cured with a steering damper & it fits above the top yoke or around the fork stantions. It's a little bar that sits horizontal, with a piston that moves in & out ( this stops the handle bars shaking ) within a type specific oil.

Sorry to say but I hate motor bikes. Far too dangerous. That said (I did enjoy TT) but, having bikes in GT5 would be better IMO if it was offered as DLC. Perhaps in a pack of 10 bikes or so.

True, they are dangerous, but only when you ride like a lunatic or are confronted with idiotic drivers who fail to see you. Most riders, thankfully, are sensible and hence safe. I've got a nice car, but most bikes can out-accelerate, out-brake, and generally out-manoeuvre it. That makes bikes inherantly safe.

Reminds me of a time once when there were some roadworks on the way home, and a group of bikers were weaving in and out of the traffic like idiots. Once they got to the cones, they shot along the coned off area past the queue of traffic, pulling wheelies and flicking fingers up at drivers as they went. Once we got past the roadworks and gathered speed, you could see some disturbance up ahead. Two of the bikers were sat on the verge alongside their smashed up bikes - all of the drivers slowed down to return the hand-signals and have a bit of a laugh at their expense. While I never wish harm on anybody, when idiots like that do what they do, they deserve whatever comes their way.

Nice...

Anyway, tanks and hovercrafts aren't ruled out either.

Hydroplane racing & mud boggers would be cool.Formula 1 PowerBoat racing is another form of sport, that would be great fun.

lol it would be fun online though. could knock them off their bikes. "oop... sorry, didn't see ya there. how do you like the taste of a Bridgestone in the morning?"

No i don't believe bikes would be included & the sports i mentioned wouldn't be in GT5.I was just passing ideas around.

I'm 99% sure bikes are NOT going to be in the game. Not this close to release. Having a stand alone TT game will make much more money too. No way.

I would be ok with bikes in GT5 if it was limited to only the Yamaha Zuma 125 or Yamaha T-MAX because those bikes wouldn't really require TT's rider customization system or too much work. Now if you're talking about including something like CBR600RR, CBR1000RR, YZF-R1, or ZX-10R then PD might as well just make a stand-alone TT2.

pd have tourist trophy for bikes and gt for cars-its very unlikely it will change from that

ps. did riding spirits for the ps2 have abything to do with pd as its geberal format looks very much like gt3??

I really can't see on how having motorcycles in the game would ever ruin the game, much for the contrary, it would actually help sell the game right?

Knowing PD, they would never put motorcycles vs cars, meaning someone that would buy GT5 would literally get two different simulators, a car one, and a motorcycle one. Meaning, motorcycle enthusiasts would be able to get a great motorcycle game, and at the same time, they would get to try out the greatness of the real GT, which is cars.

I think having motorcycles would simply drive more people into buying the game, and it would definitely make GT5 above any other competitor game, but that's simply my opinion...

Well there is a rumor about the Three Disc package that may come with GT5, maybe it is Car Simulation Mode, Two Wheeled Simulation Mode, and Mixed Arcade Mode.
