La Sarthe and Spa ,weather report and other " stuff "

My weather experience so far is :
Rain ( whatever type is ) never starts before the first 1.5 laps .
Usually starts at end of lap two or starting 3 and that depends the car , if it's fast or not.
Fast cars under 4.00 minutes lap is very different to a car that lap around 4.20 , the first will meet rain at lap 3 , the second at end of lap two for example.
Of course can start later even at lap 6 which is rare but happens.
The type of rain varies a lot , might rain one time , two times or rain for 2-3 laps in a row which also is rare.
Nothing ensure dry track after rain , i faced mid race light rain that keep humidity on the track almost at the first line till the end of 7th lap.
Weather can change very fast and sometimes very slow .
Radar that shows " Doom " ( green, yellow, blue all over ) might not affect the track so hard as it shows.
Radar that have few blue spots its possible to bring " Doom " .
Many times when you think,ok its over now ..... a second wave appears and you start the .....here we go again 😂
Direction of weather also varies, can be from right to left or the opposite, up to down or the opposite and a combination of those which also is rare too .
I never had rain on lap 7 in a dry or almost dry race .
Sudden rain at end of lap 5 or starting lap 6 may occurs ( very rare ) that might keep the track wet till the end of lap 7 which i usually skip.
If rain caught the AI after pits , is a good indication for 6 lap race .
Sometimes one from the AI make the right choice and moving faster than the others in rainy track.
Other times are two groups spinning all over or one group together that hit one the other. Other times the first group moving faster while the second shows arrows turning around.
That's all from me , am continue keep notes but not with many details.
Usually i make one run per day since i start CE's and don't have time for more unless i need to test some car and skip CE's .
Have a good day guys.

I was thinking, anyone check the radar after completing a race? Does it show the weather from the race just completed?

Ran first race tonight with Porsche Cayman Gr.4 and weather report:
When it starts to rain: At sector 5
What lap it starts to rain: lap 2
What lap rain ends : sector 6 in lap 5
If heavy Rain needing IM tires. yes, heavy rains came in lap 3 just after sector 3, pitted for IMs
If light rain or just rain not needing IM tires. N/A
For how many laps it rains for: two.
Rain accumulation: medium Stage 3.
Total laps raced: Six.

Just did a race where I had rain show up for the full first half of lap 6.

Makes me wonder if its possible to out pace the weather and if your fast enough and have rain show up late you can get into lap 7 with it still raining?

That nails it pretty much...

Never had rain in lap1 and I can't remember rain in lap7, but wet track in lap7 without dry line happened before...

I rather do 4.20s on my first 3 laps than 4.00s, so that wii explain, why I sometimes experience "early rain" in lap 2

I'm not trying to put you on blast, I just feel as though I may have defended my position and perhaps explained further why I believe what I do.
All good, I don't feel offenden by good arguments...since there is never rain in lap1 and lap7 I can agree on that, that the weather is not completly random...

Got heavy rain(a thick wall of darkest blue) in lap1 right after the start in a custom race the other day, where I recreatet the WTC700 race with a grid full of cars I use/used to grind there...that was quite a suprise(weather settings where on "custom" but didn't choose anything...)

I just thought of an interesting test ... What if from the start, just don't go? Sit on lap 1 and see if any rain comes or shows anything on the radar.

Just started it now I'll count the AI laps as they lap me.👍

New race, new weather report format:
First radar appearance:
Lap 2 sector 4 from upper right corner moving down, spots of dark blue showing
Sector 6 yellow rain spots showing heavy rain in future, going to put in for IMs and fuel.
First rain on track:
Exiting pits at lap 3 has stage 1 accumulation and by sector 2 it's at stage 2 accumulation.
Sector 3 rain stops but still at high stage 2 accumulation, rains clear from radar at beginning of lap 4. Rains reappear in radar at lap 5 and rains from sector 2 through 4, no more rain for remaining laps 6 & 7.

Almost forgot just in case you was wondering yes I did finish that race even being 3 laps down.

So if you was wondering if you get any credits for finishing last the answer is.

On the bright side I only did 5 laps.:sly:

I just had the wettest race around Le Mans I've ever had. It started raining in the Porsche curves on lap three. it was still raining at the start of lap six.

I just had the wettest race around Le Mans I've ever had. It started raining in the Porsche curves on lap three. it was still raining at the start of lap six.
Similar situation for me just minutes ago (23:02)

Rain in radar:
Sector 2 lap 2 coming from lower right with dark blue spots showing early.
Rain on track:
Started at sector 6 in lap 2 and by the time i reach sector 7 it is already at stage 1 accumulation, pitting for IMs.
Exiting pits on lap 3 is already up to stage 2 accumulation and gets heavier by sector 2 with stage 3 accumulation.
Lap 4 heavy rains persist at stage 3 with visible puddles forcing me to slow down and drive carefully even if on IMs.
Lap 5 heavy rains are still at stage 3 and finally stops raining by sector 6.
Lap 6 no rain and still at stage 3 accumulation, radar clears by sector 3, by sector 6 rain accumulation is down to stage 1 and stays like this until time runs out at end of 6.

this was the wettest race for me that i can recall.. (will post pics soon)

My 20 races full weather report.👍
I am so impressed, you have done far above what I am doing, you are the MAN

After coming up with my experiment, I decided to try it myself as well.

Weather begins to show on radar around 5 minutes of elapsed time, moving left to right, which is congruent with the wind direction showing on the course map.

I suspect now the weather is for sure related to time and not on the player's current lap. The time rain arrives, could be affected by wind speed? So what time/lap the player observes it actually raining depends on how fast/slow they are as well as how quickly the rain moves.

@Chikane_GTR amazing work and thanks for also trying my test.

I can at least no longer say rain on Lap 1 doesn't happen!

Is it me or the weather radar before the race shows sunny weather always....
What a .......
Yes, always in this case. The pre-race radar shows weather leading up to the start so you can see what, if any, weather is moving. But since this race is programmed to begin dry, it makes sense for the pre-race radar be clear.

OK, so here is my first report:

I don't like the track at all but I really wanted to try this race today.

So I hopped into my X-Bow, tuned to 699.something with RH tyres. Weather was nice and sunny. I started on FM4.

I made it to lap 2 when AS bumped into me for no apparent reason🤬 I got revenge😈 and quit the race.

That's all folks😄

3 days in a row am trying to find dry weather to run RB junior but couldn't find any .
Today i quit first race ( lap 3 ) exit , try another session but light rain hit the track again 👺 .
Am trying to find if he can do 8 laps but still, remain answered.......
Ok i run once a day now but am not asking too much, or did i ?

Honda Project 2&4 powered by RC213V (Fully tune)

Really fun car one of my favorite fun cars I taken to le man its a rocket ship on wheels.:)

Handling is tight and wild really keeps you on your toes but at the same time is so satisfying to tame.
Braking is great.
190+ Top speed
5 Laps on FM4 More on FM5 and 6

Weather -

Heavy Rain on lap 5 enough for only 6 laps.👍

Its able to run a faster lap then I did here but like I said its a wild car and you have to get used to how it handles.👍

Ferrari F40 with an Enzo V12 engine swap

Its a match made in heaven, I prefer the V12 swapped F40 more than the turbo V8, it handles better than the stock f40 under braking. The setup is expensive, luckily I already had 2 enzo engines through roulettes so I just had to spend 3,3m on a second F40.

I ran the entire race on FM6, details on fuel and tires below.
The car handles perfectly on red worned tires, so you can still go for inters the entire race, this is just personal preference since I dont like checking the radar when grinding.

This F40 has the v12 swap, racing muffler, sports suspension and power restrictor. As for custom parts, it has the type A front lip, Type A diffusor and Type A wing:

IMG_2694.JPG

Rain on the radar at the start of Lap 3, really light rain, the track didnt get wet. Tires were a little bit worn because I forgot about TC, was running with TC0.

IMG_2691.JPG

I only coast and short shift on lap 1, you can easily manage to get the fuel to lap til the end of lap 4. Pitted only for fuel as the handling was really good even though the tires were worned.
IMG_2692.JPG

I pitted again at the end of lap 6 for fuel and new tires.

Handling is tight I'll work it more.
3 Laps on FM6.
