La Sarthe and Spa ,weather report and other " stuff "

Loving the Maverick. Add RH & IW, Detune power restrictor to 88%(PP 699.68). Leave everything else stock(even the brakes). FM6 with short shifting, nets 3 laps, but shifting later will yield 2.4 laps. FM6 top speed is about 310-314kph. Full fuel for the second pit stop. FM1 for the last lap=335kph on the straights(Edit:348kph), with 340kph before Indianapolis.

The sound is so intoxicating.

Damn , that's fast for a " dead " stock car , I never drive it yet .
Although, his fuel consumption is a big problem for those who use AT gears like me .

@Chikane_GTR we are one the same boat with 917.

First race a torrential rain hit the track at start of lap 3 and end up with only 6 laps.
At the second ,a very light rain occurs at lap 5 that spoil my chances for something better and didn't even bother for 8 lap.
I use FM6 all the way for 4 laps stint.
Easy car , no surprises.
I don't know what your settings was but mine had ballast in front ( from the first time i try it long ago ) and i tweak the gears a bit on racing gear box.
I guess FM3 its easy to pull out a 3 lap stint.

Well, it's got 1000+ bhp, but t it's heavy at 1600kgs. Fat tyres make it sweet though. In VR, the side "mirrors" are tiny. Haha.

The instrument panel does give fuel in percentage left. So, that's cool. Speed is in mph. No wipers either. Lots of rainX. ;)

a few questions directed to the regular grinders here in thread...
A) VGT or not VGT?
B) are you nice to the AI or do you push them around and out of the way at times?
A) No to VGT, if it is not a real car in the world, it is not a real car in my garage.
B) in first lap i tend to be slightly uncouth to the AI

I haven't done any updating on my Le Mans races lately.

I like to use as mostly stock cars, or maybe detune higher class cars.

Today I used the Garage RCR Civic. I don't think I've done this race in an FF car. The PP was showing an acceptable level after adding race tires. Take note, this car is reported to have bad understeering characteristics with the stock wide wheels, something I leaned from when this car was featured in last week's Time Trial.

In the race, the car handled very nicely. However, the top speed left a lot to be desired. Even at FM-6, it would reach it's top speed easily, but it wasn't fast enough to overtake. This setting would run 3 laps before needing to refuel. Very heavy front tire wear.

Now, fortunately rain was my friend this race.

Rain began at the end of L2. Radar showed it would be a mix of mostly dark blue and some green patches, Intermediate tires required.

The track was wet, over the first bar by L3, chicane 2, some spots were just above the second bar. Rain would persist until L4, but the radar showed more rain, mostly dark blue, starting L5. A dry line was starting to form at the end of L5 and would be clear through L6.

The car was very well behaved in the rain, and the weather saved the win here. Unmodified, this car will not win a dry race.

Another dry race

Some tweaking of the tune still to go before I share but this thing is a rocket! could of done 8 laps but waited 30sec before starting lap 7

Yeah, the F12 is no joke. Did one a while ago.
F12 is sweet. FM6 will yield 4 laps of fuel. shifting at 7100rpm. No need to top out with full revs. The downforce and supreme brakes make it one the most stable road cars I’ve driven. Light blue rain didn’t slow it down. The 12 cylinder makes it too easy. It’s a cruiser like the ZR-1.
When I pit, it was on .8 laps left. Tyres were 1/4 worn. Could have left them, but changed to fresh rubber. Filled up and it gave me 4.4 laps. Cruised on FM6 and nailed it on the last lap with 2 laps in the tank. Burned the fuel to .1 laps at the line. Set that fastest time even slowing down for the final chicanes. Very nice car.

@smoothbore12 I have a challenge for you.

Win using the P1 GTR and FXX-K.

A little insight on both cars.

The hybrid system will last a full lap so for the whole first lap which is enough to get you to first.
After that.

You should get 3 laps with the p1 gtr on fm6.
And you should get 2 laps with the fxxk on fm6.

The real challenge is winning with both cars since both become so slow after the hybrid runs out.

It and has to be a rain free win since its to easy winning when it rains. 👍

Am waiting for your settings, seems this one it's a " rocket " .
What FM you use ?
Edit
Ok i saw it on your tunning thread 👍

@Chikane_GTR what do you mean by " win " ?
At what levet ?
Most of my runs are on easy level so i don't have to mess with the AI .
I run with P1 GTR once but didn't like it due to hybrid system 🤐

Have to give the F12 another try...I used to have huge problems with the fuel consumption, could hardly manage to get 3 laps out of it on FM6-but that was a long time ago, my skills have increased since my last try with that car

Edit: I gave it a try, and while I did win, I still had massive coasting to do in order to make 3 laps with one tank...

First try: barely made 3 laps, some rain, but not enough for IMs...still some showers in laps 4 and 5...paid too much attention to the weather radar and run out of fuel in lap 5 right at the Porsche advertising...I was thinking FM2 will yield 2 laps, but id didn't...;)
So I quit...

Second try, same conditions...again 3 laps with one tank and massive coasting, then 2 laps with FM3(even some FM4 on the last quarter of the track), then another two laps...started with FM4, then on the final lap FM1 for the most part...caught up with the two leading cars on Mulsanne(Portilla and Haywood) and overtook them...switched back to FM4 when I entered the Porsche curves...enough for the win, last lap was the fastes with 4.09,something...(used RHs for the 3lapper, and RM for the 2lappers)

This car truly need massive coasting.
Its from the thigs that am disappointed from the game .
The majority of good handling and powerful cars needed a gas station to support them 🤐

This car , even if its heavy as an elephant has very good handling and tremendous power.
@AlexWilmot post " caught " my attention since i never ride this one .
So yesterday i spent my noon on this one and did some laps trying to find best settings for me in order to try a race .
I did two practicing in what i " hate " , fuel saving.
The first one had rain , the second light rain but somehow i manage to unleash the beast ( FM1 ) which leave me with only 04 fuel for one lap ( 3rd one ) and did the coasting of my life to go back at the pits 😂 .

IMG_20231014_211205281.jpg

Was a 7 lap race but with so many fuel gimmicks i won't bother to try it again .

Here’s the opening lap from me where the fuel is on FM6 and just shift at 9,500 rpm the whole time, with Road cars you never need more than 3laps per stint really.

And I was nice to the AI ;)

For sure one of the fun ones here. I will try out that FXX-K that you suggested before today, ECU, power restricted, and ballast-ed it to 700.00 PP with the Hard tires. We'll see how it goes.

Excellent ride , ill never be able to run like this on MT gears .
It's a shame car like this one to waisted cause of fuels .

Also tried the Murcielago but that thing didn't wanna get 3 laps even at the lowest HP.:yuck:

it started to rain after pit stop, luckily the rain’s direction is vertical and didn’t affect the grip that much, able to do 8laps

Oh dear. I've been playing Forza Motorsport since the 5th and GT7 not often. Since I couldn't get to sleep I loaded GT7 and did the Le Mans race only to find that all my speed is gone. 4:21 instead of 4:14.

No rain happend either so should have been a fast race.

Speed loss is a side effect of playing with Forza...

Tried the FKK-X. The car is pretty good here even in a nerfed 700PP set up. As you say, the hybrid system lasted one lap. However, I seemed to have longer stints than you reported.

I ran a couple times, first I did my typical Fuel strategy. Start FM6, FM1 from Tertre Rouge to Indianapolis, then FM6 again. I got 3 laps this way.

The other I started at FM6 and kept it there the whole stint, I was able to get 4 laps before stopping for fuel and Inters for the rain that started late Lap 4.

Strangely, I had more issues with rain in this car. As stated above, rain started late Lap 4 which is a pattern I'm not used to seeing here. This happened in both races.

The weather would start as normal, some light rain beginning to show on the radar at the end of Lap 2/beginning of Lap3. But Lap 3 was light rain if any and didn't rain significantly until the end of Lap 4. This was why I tried to push a stint to 4 laps. Lap 5 there was a bit more rain to keep the track wet but a dry line would form Lap 6 and 7.

I'm going to try another hybrid car today, the Porsche 918 Spyder.

I play on a pad and it was odd at first changing gears but I did countless laps changing up and down running laps at BroadBean to learn how to do it.

I have a new tune for the GR86 that uses FM6 to get 3 laps without short shifting so it would work for you and AT gears.
700pp.PNG

Maybe that's a dumb question but what happens when you do this with a Taycan? Do you run out of energy?
Yes the energy from EV cars will last at best 1 1/2 laps and once it runs out is like running out of fuel.

EV are useless.

@GlockPants Good job but how did you manage 4 laps from the fxxk?

I play in MT and use short shift with it and I still can only manage 3 laps.
