More than likely if the GT does make an appearance in the game it will be be of the street car version not the the GR3 racing version. The racing version is what is desired by most not another street car that really has little purpose in the racing aspect of the game.

I would be happy just getting the street version of the 2017 Ford GT as I'm not sure I could use the racing version for anything if it's a Group X car. Truthfully, though, I would have preferred a Shelby Series One as I miss that car so much.

Remember folks

We live in a world where PD prioritizes cop cars over up to date race cars
Why are we getting cop cars? This ain't GTA dammit!

If its pace cars, then again, WHY??? The game 3 or 4 pace cars already, what's the point of having more of these????

More importantly, WHY ARE THESE GETTING PRIORITY OVER NEW GR.3 AND GR.2 CARS?????
Take a guess which one takes more time and resources to model.

- Entirely new race cars that effectively have to be made from scratch.

or

- 3 clones of already existing cars.

The game's called GT SPORT, not GT RACE CARS. I don't get the complaining about PD's not adding race cars, I couldn't care less about them. If you were an old school GT player, you wouldn't care about this eSports ********. Another great update.
I don't get the people who think the game being named "GT Sport" somehow justifies that. I understand people being annoying at the usual whining but that's the most arbitrary excuse that I've seen.

Because they advertised and hyped this as an eSports title with FIA involvement.

What does a cop car have to do with FIA sanctioned racing?

If this were GT8 then yeah add the wacky crap no one asks for.

Ahem....
May I remind you that these updates are free? Or have we forgotten some basic good manners of accepting that other people may like this stuff better than others
I honestly don’t care, the only car that I’m particularly excited about is the Hellcat Police Car and the 2017 Ford GT. But that doesn’t mean I’m getting all stuck up about the other cars in the list, because I’m pretty sure I’ll find a good use for them
As long as we get Laguna Seca (Hopefully we are, although you never know with Polyphony Digital), I consider this a decent update

You know the version we’re getting is the road legal version right?
My post is in response to the above quote.

If Gt sport actually had a safety car feature along with real time damage or safety rules.

No doubt those safety cars or pace cars would be much more useful. Now we are getting cop cars?? For what just to take a bite out of NFs heat??? Doesnt matter if GT has 100 cop cars you will not able replicate hot pursuits found in NFS or other racing games that featured cops.

Do Gt fans love tolerating this stuff?? Before people start saying Pd always puts weird cars well those weird cars were mainly concept cars or cars that we barely seen which I dont mind to be honest.

What use will cop cars bring to the game nothing apart from being collectables.

And that's what I dont get. Exactly what you say here.. is anyone asking for some of this stuff? I find that hard to believe.

I do see a lot of posts for up to date race cars or even some of PD's race cars from previous GT games.

Don't know nor care what Kaz was thinking behind this, but I can tell you for a fact that there's definitely people that will use these things.

People take this game too seriously. We get a silly little gift instead of what would've been a 4 car update and apparently it's a problem.

Because GT7 will include them.

Who will buy GT7 if we get all new race cars for free in GTS ?

Simple logic !!

Please don’t start the “it’s free so don’t complain” bs again...
Many people, including myself bought the game at launch for FULL price, for me iirc it was over €60 at the time and back then it was extremely light on content* (cars/tracks/etc). Since then PD has been adding a lot of content, which I am grateful for, BUT 90% (or maybe more) of what has been added so far should have been there from the start.
So I find it understandable people complain about PD adding crazy stuff like cop cars over race (or street) cars that used to be in previous versions of the game(or new to the game), same goes for tracks.

*I realized the game would be ‘light-ish’ on content at the start, but it was way way way lighter than I could have expected.

Your first mistake was assuming the denizens of this godforsaken forum will be satisfied with anything.
Sad, because other sub aside of PCars sub (i think), the opposite is correct.

Just to point out the double standards.

You haven't to buy it if you don't agree with the content at launch. Nobody forced you and that doesn't force PD to include free new content.

Don't like it, don't buy it.

GT7 will launch very soon. Don't expect to have free the new race cars that GT7 will have. They have to keep the better for GT7. It's obvious.

I'm hoping it's a 993 RSR and not the GT2. Those bolt on arches absolutely ruimnthe 993 shape.

Not confirmed but leaked some months ago as a "ps5 launch title", so for the end of 2020.

PS5 will be presented this february, so we should see GT7 presented as well.

PD is hardly working on GT7 and raytracing for PS5, that's a fact, it will come soon.

I am more curious how much tuning you can apply to those cars. While i loved the Ruf last update, it felt a pity not able to make it insanely faster although i appreciated you could detune until n400

It doesn’t, but it is important to have a game that isn’t a single-trick pony. There needs to be things to do that aren’t just the esports ranked online racing. Cops and Robbers grew into a fairly popular thing in lobbies for casual players as GT transitioned to an online-capable franchise. I don’t think anyone necessarily asked for cop cars, but I do think it’s content that will actually be used by a fairly large portion of the player base, which is important for keeping players engaged. Route X kind of falls into a similar category. More players that can be captivated by content means more players that can be exposed to sport mode.

I do agree that there’s a bit of a lack of up-to-date race cars and infrequent additions to the main classes, but I don’t think the cars that appear to coming this month look that bad. Plus, it’s likely that Laguna Seca will arrive with this update, and that’s something that can be enjoyed by just about everyone.

If it is the Crown, will it be a hybrid?

Maybe the hybrid 3.5 V6.

I'm not so certain that is a Toyota Crown. That Grill just screams E63 to me (Particularly, E63 S looking at the barely visable Spoiler). There is also the fact that there is an actual E63 Safety Car

The Crown and E63 have different hood, the Mercedes has a uniform hood, the Toyota has the exact same line hood as the picture.
Notice the mirrors, Mercedes ones are not so far behind, Crown front lights are very specific to this car.
And, if you look at the back of the car, you see it's not a Mercedes.

...hummm, PD work on GT7 since GT Sport beginning.

And no, they don't ray tracing for GT7, but for GT Sport, due to license future renewal (or just contract), they can't raytracing to an other game as GT Sport, but they're free to use GT6 models. That's a fact.

According to your profile, you're 15, so I don't see how you can speak to being an old school GT fan.

I've been playing GT since 1998 and I get why people ask for more race cars. Not only is it natural, but when you look at some GT competitors, you see a wider variety and larger quantity of race cars.

I mean, even though the live events and the qualification races - sport mode - feature road cars, most of if not all semi and finals are done with race cars.

Not to mention race car categories, especially Gr. 3, are way more balanced then any N category.

Yeah, it's just a thought I had about cars in the next GT.
I'm wondering if electrification ill be a big thing in the next game.

No doubt Formula E, Robo cars, hybrid race cars, etc. Now, ETCR is the next big series to embrace electrification. VW & Audi have announced they won't be building next gen TCR cars. Audi did confirm they'll continue DTM and GT efforts. Still, with the next generation of GT players soon to grab controllers and wheels, it's an opportune time to expand the EV car lineup, as well as education.
Having more hybrids in this game, kind of sets the tone for cars in GT moving forward. If the next one will be a bit of past, present and future.
We've got a fair many real electric road cars and VGTs, plus real hybrid race cars. More are, possibly, on the way for next year.

You shouldn't just assume that GT7 will be out (and that it's round the corner). Assuming makes an ASS out of U and ME. Yes there is strong likelihood that there will be another GT title but it depend on which kind of game it will be? GT Sport I would say has been quite a success, so another go with sport isn't a bad idea.

Top right doesn't look like a MK1 Golf GTI. It's nose is pointy and the way it sloops at the back looks more like a Yugo. Then again it could be almost any hatch from the 70's/80s lol but the way the shape looks it doesn't look like a mk1 golf to me.
