It just crossed my mind, and if someone already made the joke then fair play.

Does this mean the Polyphony Digital Police Department (PDPD) is a thing now?

One of the many liveries by @Firehound427

In the deep down depths of liveries there is someone who has the 'Polyphony Digital Sheriff's Office' livery pack

I'm wondering, like many, is there something else regarding the use of hwy patrol cars.

I'll be able to re-recreate the Cannonball Run 2 scene

Please tell me that you did the original Cannonball Run intro.

The update is nice, but I hope that at least one of the cop cars has a diesel engine because MUH TORQUE

One of them has a supercharger. So, it has MUH TORQUE, YER TORQUE, E'RBOY's TORQUE.

Oh so just because i'm 15 I can't buy an PS1 or PS2 and play GT3 A-Spec or GT4? Is that your logic? I was born in the same year as Ace Combat 5 released but that didn't stop me from playing it in 2018 and falling in love with the franchise.

If you buy a PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP today and play all GT games released before GTsport that doesn't make you an old school fan. It makes you a fan of old school GT games.

If in 2030 someone buys all Half Life games, they won't be an HL "old school" fan. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Doesn’t seem like you are much of an old school fan because than you would know GT was always about real world cars and not race cars. Also bringing someone’s age up in a debate is not appropriate.

I brought his age up because he was accusing others of not being old school fans like he was, otherwise they wouldn't ask for race cars so much.

Also, when did I say anything about GT being more or less about race cars VS road cars? And what does that have to do with being an old school fan? You could play GT since GT1 and prefer race cars instead of road cars.

I wasn't the one bringing up the fallacious argument of being "old school". It doesn't make sense. That's why I called him out.

People should have realised by now that GT Sport is not like a traditional GT game. So bringing up old games to make an argument is kinda pointless.

I'd love to have a course maker and classic GT tracks. But I won't try to shut other people's wishes if they want more of other / new content.

Seven new cars - sweet! Even better, I'll be able to enjoy them when they come out, vs. being made available on the day of the holiday :)

Wonder if Santa-Kaz delivers Laguna Seca as a surprise?
I think between the TBA race and last months near miss, we’re practically guaranteed Laguna Seca.

An old school fan would also know that the older games the road cars could be upgraded to a race car, including suspension, drive train, body aero kits and brakes which is no longer included in the newest sport version.
Could easily take a 70 Challenger and make an SCCA trans am racer so saying race cars had less of a place in the older games is not correct either.
Could actually make racing versions of a lot more cars back then making the race car a bigger part within the game.
Some cars you could even go as far as acid dipping the body to reduce weight and making the chassis stiffer both of those mods were permanent once applied. Since the upgrade path of the older games no longer exist wanting more race cars in the new game should not be surprising.
So I do not see where wanting more race cars goes against the historic Gran Turismo heritage at all.

Alright, so these are my predictions for what the vehicles are supposed to be. It's very likely we're getting these three police cars to represent Asian, European, and American police seeing as it's quite popular for people to role-play as officers of the law in GT Sport. Not my thing, but I love seeing inane stuff in racing games so this checks out for me. Ford GT seems appropriate as we've had billboards for it at LeMans, as well as the return of the Golf GTI from GT4-GT6. Not entirely sure as to whether the 993 is a RUF or Porsche so I played it safe and listed it as either one.

Note that two of the police cars are recycled from existing vehicles in GT Sport. Up to you to decide if that's clever or lazy.

Don't know nor care what Kaz was thinking behind this, but I can tell you for a fact that there's definitely people that will use these things.

People take this game too seriously. We get a silly little gift instead of what would've been a 4 car update and apparently it's a problem.

There are two times types of responses here

Type 1: "We should count our blessings, and offer a sacrifice to our gracious overlords. They are the creators of everything. I'm not saying Kaz is Jesus, but have you ever seen him and Jesus in the same room?"

Type 2: "The very thought of this update has robbed me of my life. My family has left me, I've lost my job, and everything I hold near and dear to my heart has ceased to exist".

I for one am looking forward to this update and getting back into the game.
These are the types of responses that I find hilarious. Why get so fired up over something so trivial? You can have an opinion about the topic but don't be overly dramatic.

I agree. If you don’t like the extra content fine but people make it sound like PD is REMOVING content from the game. You’ve been playing the game just fine in the past. Why do a few extra new cars change everything?

Are we sure that Megane is a police car?

The Megane Police cars I found from that model year seem to have light bars that are either bigger or smaller then that.

Considering that the Megane was shown to have been a safety car a few pages back, I expect it to be a safety car upon release. I have already forgotten if the Crown (if it turns out to be that) was used as a safety car. But that Charger is undoubtedly the most police car looking safety car ever. According to your profile, you're 15, so I don't see how you can speak to being an old school GT fan.

I've been playing GT since 1998 and I get why people ask for more race cars. Not only is it natural, but when you look at some GT competitors, you see a wider variety and larger quantity of race cars.

I mean, even though the live events and the qualification races - sport mode - feature road cars, most of if not all semi and finals are done with race cars.

Not to mention race car categories, especially Gr. 3, are way more balanced then any N category.

Thank you for all the new road cars PD, keep 'em coming! Also the police cars are just brilliant!

Some people need to realize not everyone plays Sport mode, actually most people don't. Some, like me, just like to cruise around in road cars. Just because you're not a fan of the update, doesn't mean others won't enjoy it.

This article had me laughing, because obviously anyone assumes and wants a Toyota Crown before an E43/E63 AMG...
giphy (15).gif

Please tell us more about this "Toyoya Crown" DLC, as if PD would spend 6-9 months each on modelling and rendering said car over what is quite obviously an E43/E63...

I sense a highly ridiculous amount of Blues & 2s heading our way.

GT players are weird.

You just now noticed?

Kids like to play Police officer.
The weaker they are and the smaller the ego is, the more they like being a Cop.

Yikes, what a broad sweeping generalization.
