You shouldn't just assume that GT7 will be out (and that it's round the corner). Assuming makes an ASS out of U and ME. Yes there is strong likelihood that there will be another GT title but it depend on which kind of game it will be? GT Sport I would say has been quite a success, so another go with sport isn't a bad idea.

Yamauchi already said what kind of game GT7 will be : "Next Gran Turismo Will be a ‘Combination of Past, Present, and Future’"

You haven't to buy it if you don't agree with the content at launch. Nobody forced you and that doesn't force PD to include free new content.

Don't like it, don't buy it.

GT7 will launch very soon. Don't expect to have free the new race cars that GT7 will have. They have to keep the better for GT7. It's obvious.

You must be new to the GT series. GT has not been a launch title since GT3. They have pretty much indicated it would be since then,but has never happened. It is unlikely that GT7 will be out in 2020. Fall 2021 would be my earliest expectation. It is what it is and it is what Kaz n company does, no use complaining about it at this point.

Living up to that title might not be the best thing after GT5 and GT6. Just another sequel.. My dream scenario would be GT sport + GT5 + Forza Horizon combined. But thats not gonna happen.

The thing is, that its more and more obvious a classic GT game will be absent from a whole generation of playstation. GT6 was ps3 and GT7 will be PS5.. how did they let that happen.

You must be new in software and hardware. Working and launching a game from ps4 to ps5 is a lot easier than from ps2 to ps3 or from ps3 to ps4.

What use will cop cars bring to the game nothing apart from being collectables.

C'mon, surely you've been online and have seen the many Cops vs Robbers lobbies ? I can also imagine some (Japanese) lobbies try to recreate Super GT events which have police cars parading on the warm up lap. Or a cameo during the introduction of a FIA Nation/ Manu cup event. I probably won't use them either but it shouldn't be that hard to see why some would like their inclusion.

The Ford GT was missing in the game, clearly, and so was the 993 Porsche. They really are some natural and very welcome additions.

About the race cars, sure I think it Would be great to have some new ones, but I think we would be very frustrated with the BOP it there were some new cars.
I feel pd is more axed on giving better performances to the cars they like rather than actually trying to make sens in the race cars performance. Gr4 Mégane smashing Ferraris and Lamborghinis seems a bit absurd to me. And gr3, while more balanced, also has its share of nonsense. Finally, GR1 and 2 don't really make sense since they mix different generations, with unbalanced performance level. So it's a good thing, in my opinion, that they are careful with new additons.

It's finally sinking in that they're bringing one of my favorite cars: the 2nd gen Ford GT, the american supercar. I thought it would come, in about 2 centuries, so it's amazing to see it arrive earlier.

I still see this as, technically, a 4 car update, as the cop cars are variants of cars already in-game, or coming along with the new DLC. Certainly easier than modelling something entirely new.

I also love that PD are not just bringing in new cars to the franchise but also modern cars, which is great to see. And it's nice that there's a balance of 2 modern and 2 classic.

Let's hope things continue along this pattern for quite some time.

Maybe they're adding a new championships mode into the game, or into GT League, and they will be using some, or all, or the center cars for some big event. I am doubtful, especially 2 years into the game's release, but it's an idea.

I just had a thought prompted by the cop car inclusion. What if PD could approach police organizations in different Japanese prefectures, and partner with them to scan certain squad cars to put into GT, to promote safe driving in Japan by showing what kind of cars the police have at their disposal. At least in Tochigi, they use an NSX, Impreza, R35, 350Z Nismo, etc, all for highway patrol, and what better way to promote safe driving than thrashing around something that could go faster than what you currently drive?
I personally think it would be a good excuse to add more police cars into the game.

I think we can all agree that this has got to be the weirdest DLC batch coming into the game yet. Seeing 3 cars with light bars on top, all in one batch is really unusual. Police lobbies are gonna have a blast with this update, but that said, I'm looking forward to the new 911.

According to your profile, you're 15, so I don't see how you can speak to being an old school GT fan.

I've been playing GT since 1998 and I get why people ask for more race cars. Not only is it natural, but when you look at some GT competitors, you see a wider variety and larger quantity of race cars.

I mean, even though the live events and the qualification races - sport mode - feature road cars, most of if not all semi and finals are done with race cars.

Not to mention race car categories, especially Gr. 3, are way more balanced then any N category.

Oh so just because i'm 15 I can't buy an PS1 or PS2 and play GT3 A-Spec or GT4? Is that your logic? I was born in the same year as Ace Combat 5 released but that didn't stop me from playing it in 2018 and falling in love with the franchise.

Yeah, but then we have a X-Bow that smashes supercars, ridiculously, in N500(even in top speed) and everything else in N300. PD can add as many cars as they like, but there is only one to rule them all.
