On Rome I found I made up the most time coming off the cobblestone to the 90 degree left turn approaching the collosseum and then not slowing down like the other cars but going about 120mph and THEN slowing to 70-80mph to round the Collosseum . I passed absolutely every single car in that stretch, by lap 5 I was first. No problems. If you got that much trouble running this seasonal then there must be something seriously torqued about your driving, no offense. There must be something seriously wrong with my driving too. After all, I've completed every single seasonal race with gold, except Lamborghini on the Ring, and the worst is that I can't blame the car...

I gained a lot of time from the exit of the first double-left all the way through to the straight that leads to the hairpin as well. Once you find the line there, they are atrocious through that section, and you can still hit the straight at a much higher rate of speed. You have to wait until the right time to go full-throttle, then it's flat through the second double-left apex right up to the braking for the last turn while the bots slow down two or three times.

It's been a long time so I decided to run the Nurburgring race again just for a hoot and to see what happened.

I used the old LP400 Countach I won it with originally. Two Miuras joined. First lap I got third a little behind one of them with a 7:11, second time I passed the leader into the final corner to win with a 7:05, with a good few mistakes along the way.

I don't drive this car that often and am far from the fast guys as a rule, although I'd like to think I'm at least halfway decent at driving the Ring. So I figured I would post the tune just in case anybody wants to try something different for a change. There is probably a better one posted somewhere(I've never looked) but I figured what the hell, it seems fairly easy with this car. I have a lot less problems after tuning in this car with both oversteer and understeer than I ever do with my Gallardos.

Be advised, I don't run any aids so my settings might not be perfect for ABS use. At the least the brake pressures probably need to be changed to suit your style as I run higher than most people and with front bias due to no ABS. Feel free to ignore it or try it and/or tell me how good/bad it is or what might make it better.

Lamborghini LP400 Countach '74

Aero 0/17 (I'm sure this was full the first time but I had to lose a couple PP this time so something changed a little somewhere)

Ballast 13kg, -50 (42/58 @ 1078)
Power Limiter 100% (479hp / 317tq)
Oil is fresh, 1300 miles on the car.

ECU Tuning
Sports Intake Manifold
Racing Air Filter
Sports Exhaust Manifold
Sports Cat
Racing Exhaust
Twin Plate Clutch
Semi-Racing Flywheel
I think I bought all of the parts, but no weight reduction or engine tuning.

Gear ratios:
3.100
1.823
1.333
1.110
0.951
Final 3.513
Top Speed 143mph
Top Speed calculated 211mph

I did play with the gears a bit to get these ratios. It's been a while but I probably either set the final to the right then shortened the top speed to 143 or (I think this way is more likely considering the date I did this) set the final to the left, then lowered top speed all the way, then set the final to the right and raised top speed to 143, then adjusted the rest from there. When I was trying to beat this race the gears seemed to make a big difference, but I'm sure a few thousandths here and there won't hurt.

LSD 9/21/15

Brakes 7/4

TC, SRF, Active Steering, ASM, ABS all off.
Manual Transmission, Steering Sensitivity 7.
900 degree wheel w/paddles.

I'm sure this tune is far from perfect and possibly horrible, but it seems to work for me a lot better than it did with default settings. I spent a good deal of time working on it in the earlier batch of Lamborghini seasonals but haven't done much since - it felt good as soon as I got in so I didn't want to mess with it.

There's no power limiting so there might be a little time to gain there. No weight reduction or engine tuning either, so it's probably not as fast as it can possibly be.

The light front end floats a bit going into Flugplatz so be cautious as you reach the crest, other than that it seems very stable. I did also get a bit of understeer entering the first the fast esses at the end of Pflantzgarten although once you're into the first one it's fine. Not sure if that was the car or my line to be honest. Loads of grip coming out of the corners. Some of the highest curbs can cause the car to bounce a bit if you hit them wrong, so don't hit them or don't hit them wrong. You don't need to.

5th gear is perhaps a tiny bit short if you have a huge slipstream on the straight, but it will go over 200mph as it is. On my run I hit the limiter on the downhill roughly a second before braking so it's not too bad, and a little shorter helps for the other 98% of the track.

900 degree wheel w/paddles.

Right there is why you can gold this while judging yourself "not that great" as a driver.... I think my biggest issue is with turning the wheel too hard. The sticks make a terrible fine steering device... but it will have to do for me until I get good enough to win this sonofabiotch using DS3... IRL I don't have to turn the wheel hardly at all when I corner, perhaps 180 degrees in either direction. I mean, I can hold it at 9 and 3 and turn it 180 left or 180 right, and that's all I ever use. In GT, going perhaps two to three times the speed I can muster in a real car, I'm sure I don't even have to turn it that much, but watching a replay the other night I see that my front tires turn hard and my avatar is just cranking the wheel. Watching the gauges, I figure I just flip the steering stick about like I'm playing Decathlon on an Atari, like some fool who has no idea how to drive at all. I think my nerves are killing this for me, lol. I just can't relax and calm down enough to drive like a human being...:grumpy:

Just to point out, the Steering Sensitivity adjustment in Driving Options only works with Analog Controllers/DS2 or DS3. Not a wheel.

I was just including anything that resembled relevant info about my settings and my driving situation. I have heard differing things about steering sensitivity, tested it a little and once thought it made a difference with my wheel, once thought it didn't. Other than that, I haven't pay any attention to it, just cranked it up to 7 which felt much better when using the DS3 and left it there ever since.

All the aero parts except the rear wing are a waste of credits. They affect looks only.

I'm sure this has event has been won with Miuras, although I've never tried mine here nor tuned either of them yet. Lovely car though, drop dead gorgeous and an absolute joy to drive right out of the dealership. Hardly a waste of credits, especially considering how cheap credits are. But it won't make this event any easier. The Miuras are probably the fastest of the AI cars in all the Lamborghini events because they are tuned to be. Most of the AI Lamborghinis probably aren't stock. Even the Gallardos in the Gallardo race aren't stock.

Straight out of the dealership they're less than 550PP, so the AI cars are obviously tuned because they're 557PP (?).

DO NOT BUY THE MUIRA IT IS A WASTE OF CREDITS

use a gallardo with all aero parts

Looks good in gold chrome, but is that respray on the front of the bonnet? :sly:

Seriously though, i struggled with the Muira and am still gonna stick with the anniversary for this event.

Dave, you had 20,000,000 and spend what a couple of them? It takes me about 4 races to get 2,000,000 Cr. Any race you enter while you hold 20 million is a waste of credits, because you can't get them...

4 races to get 2mill - which races do you do?

I do the Nurb 650PP A-Spec seasonal and make a million in like 6 and a half minutes.

And the Miura is 15,000,000. Same price roughly as the 2J, worth it if you ask me. I'd rather have another Miura than another 2J.

Okay okay, so I didn't look up how much it costs... and I make approximately 500K per seasonal, to keep it easy for myself, because I get stressed and mess up and then playing is just no fun. So I am racing for fun, it's a game after all, and games are supposed to be fun. If it's stressing me out or making me angry, it's power button....

I mean you get Cr. even if you aren't first place, so I do average 500K each.

As for the 2J, I am anxiously awaiting to see it in the UCD, having passed on the 2D, lol. Eventually I intend to own every single car, and I'm well on my way. I don't even pass on the little obscure vehicles nobody in their right mind would race. While I do take it somewhat serious, it is just a game.:dopey:

I've tried this race (Rome Reverse) for over an hour now first with my Aventador (got as high as 9th I think) and then I bought a Gallardo and tuned it (Aventador was tuned too) with rabbidmaggots tunes and upped the braking power and got up to 6th but I still can't take a corner very smooth.

Admittedly I'm a rookie when it comes to tuning but some of the things that are mentioned to be adjusted I'm not finding. Are there other areas that I can upgrade parts than the settings area?

Even though I get the speed down in the corners the back end still wants to come around and (I'm just using a controller not a wheel) when I have the stick pushed all the way right or left the car still takes the turn wide.

Thanks!

Ted

p.s. Okay, so I put a wing on my Gallardo and I still end up only 7th this time. Why is it whenever I do something to the car (oil change, aero package) the PP goes up and I have to dial my power limiter down in order to be within regulations?

For this seasonal it's a waste. But in general it's not.

I have 4 Muiras. I have found the car in all states of upgrade is OK to appalling depending on the track, not the 'wonderful car' I've read about in the forum. As a performance car I think there a whole lot of better cars in the game. Maybe it doesn't suit my driving style?

Hehe....got every car and the sexiest ones several times. Bought/won them all - wasn't a part of the duping craze that went around before the 1 000 000 cr. limit was imposed - and I ain't never seen no 2J in my dealership even after 2.5 years playing with two accounts taken to level 40. It's the only car that eluded me. Had to resort to a birthday ticket to get it, so don't hold your breath!

OMG THE DAMN NURB. I have completed EVERY race in every seasonal with a gold as had just about all on here. Can I hell as like get a gold with a Bull on the Nurb!!!!!!

I just purchased the Miura for use in this and another 2 seasonals. I was surprised to see it drive and handle so well. In real life, though, they aren't as nice to drive FWIH. However, this one is the prototype. Could this play a part in why it drives so well?

So, while I've been stuck in this seasonal I have completed 8 other seasonals. What's wrong with this picture?? Tis why I'm gonna give the Miura a go in the 2 remaining events of this seasonal.

What do you guys set the 'driving options' to? Specifically the ABS and Traction Control? I'm finding the lower I have the ABS at least gives me more speed.

Any help at all (and I do mean any:-)) is greatly appreciated!
Ted

Try ABS 1. Then for TCS use whatever you are comfortable with. I usually have it set to 1 or 2. Also, SRF helps a lot.

What is SRF? Haven't been around here long enough to know all the abbreviations!dde01
Thanks!
Skid Recovery Force! Shoulda turned the game on before I replied! Always have that on.😁

Rome & Toscano I used a Miura.

SS5 i used a Gallardo.

Autumn Ring was a headache, i used a Murcielargo LP670-4 SV. Only got gold yesterday after months of trying. I have to cut some roads in order to catch up with the 2 Miura, & bumping them off of course. http://youtu.be/fkP62gaXduc

The Nurburgring i just cannot do it... seems impossible. I remember i crashed into the rear of the 2nd Miura & took it's place. The 1st Miura crossed the finishing line.

No. Polyphony Digital have never driven this car but Yamauchi-san claimed in one issue of Top Gear Magazine that by programming their physics considering various aspects like aerodynamics, engine power and layout, etc., they are able to recreate every car they like without trying it in real life.

As impossible as it may sound, I appreciate their effort and am thankful for giving me the chance to drive that precious prototype.

Hey man, you have to stop dual posting over several threads. Makes it kind of irritating when we bother replying to you and then find the same post repeated in the next thread. :sly:

ABS will never influence your speed. You will never really notice any setting other than 0 or 1 (off or on). 99% of people will use ABS 1. 'All aids off' means everything off except ABS 1.
Driving with TC off is the fun part. It teaches you to be gentle on the throttle.
All (99%) of the serious and serious-fun guys in here are using all aids off except ABS 1. Not because they need to brag, but because anything else makes the driving less fun.
ASM makes you slower as it compensates sliding with auto throttle reduction. It's like TC but sideways.
SRF is a dirty word. Makes you faster by cheating on the physics (increases grip if you slide). like using a console cheat in Skyrim.
Rally/Snow NEEDS TC (and thus ASM) off, otherwise you can't power out of a slide.

So final judgement: If you want to get the most out of the game and actually be a better real-life driver from playing this SIM, All Off and ABS 1. If you're nervous about that allow TC = 2 for a while. There's no excuse ever to use SRF and only pussies use ASM.
ABS off takes it all to the next level, but first learn to walk....
