Just did major update, AC no longer works. All fine until you try and go on track and all I get now is half a screen, none of the icons respond, everything freezes. The benchmark test just about works, quite a few glitches as it runs, frame rates etc normal, min rate 128, max rate 197 etc. Very strange. You have been warned! Running an I7 and GTX970 card so shouldn't be an issue.

Going to try Pcars now to see if it's a common problem. Nope, Pcars is fine. Will try verifying Cache, fingers crossed! Totally screwed, Dirt Rally and Pcars still work fine, verified cache, three files replaced, still get half a screen, checked all settings?

Did you update to the latest Nvidia driver?
Do you know what you did update?

The half a screen sounds like a problem with other games I know of with display scaling.

Open Steam, right click on Assetto Corsa and select Properties
Go to Local Files and then Browse Local Files
Find AssettoCorsa.exe, right click and select Properties, tick 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings', click Apply and OK, then try the game.

if the problem persists, I'd try disabling the Steam overlay to test.

With Steam open, select Steam on the top left and then Settings.
Go to In-Game and then untick 'Enable the Steam Overlay', click OK and then try the game.

It tends to only be older machines that have problems with the Overlay, but you never know, quick thing to try.

Thanks for your advice, will try, all drivers up to date, other people have had same problem since latest Win 10 major update. My PC is only 12 months old! Some have solved problem by rolling back last Nvidia update, mine is greyed out so can't? Not a techie! Tried what you advised, still the same?

Did you try those ideas out?

Did you try those ideas out?
Yes I did mate, completely baffled, never had a problem before. It's a gaming PC only so nothing else on it to cause any kind of conflict. Just have Pcars and DirtRally installed, both of which work fine. Very strange.

Right, well, I think you should try to rollback/install older Nvidia drivers.

Press Windows key and R at the same time on your keyboard
Type "devmgmt.msc" (without the quotes) in the box and press enter
Select your display adapter and right click on it, then properties.
Go to Update Driver on the Driver Tab.
Browse my computer for driver software
'Let me pick...' from the next screen

On this list you should see options for "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970..."

Pick the last but one date (ie, not the one that is dated in the last couple of weeks, but the one above it). This might be around August.

Select it, then click Next and then follow instructions to install that.

Restart machine after installing new driver.

Once again, really appreciate the advice, will give it a try in a while and report back.

Rolled it back to the October update, still the same? I'm wondering if it's something like the Natural Graphics mod that is no longer compatible? Tried Pcars again, no problem. Very confusing!

Ah, didn't know you had a mod.

I don't know whether that is the problem or not, but judging by this:

http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/natural-graphics-mod.97896/page-8

It has been updated recently.

I'd try removing it, see if the problem disappears and then troubleshoot it, including by replying in that thread.
Just had a look in the Steam forum, one guy got around it by manually deleting all previous drivers and doing a clean instal of them again, what a pain! Well, I give up, unfortunately Pcars it is then, yuk!

Got a link to that?
Have now turned off my PC, got fed up! On my IPad, don't have the Steam app on it however, if you go to Steam, click on AC, then discussions, his thread was at the top. Someone on GTPlanet suggested doing a reinstall of Win 10 due to the apparent problems with latest update. Won't consider this as everything else is fine, everything works besides AC. Been on Pcars, not a problem, so it must be peculiar to AC, totally stumped.

It's always a good idea to deactivate all mods when you start having issues. Mods alone are the source of numerous, game breaking conflicts.

Thanks for the advice Johnny, have tried it, along with just about everything else! Really weird, two cache checks, still half screen and no response. Some are saying it has changed their DPI scaling but I'm sure I checked that, will have another look.

It's reading threads like this that have me worried about making the leap to W10. This is the kind of stuff that happens to me :)

Disabling dpi scaling was the first thing I suggested, so your settings should now be ignoring that, of course it might be that for some reason that isn't working!

One of the other GTP users who had problems with AC was asked by AC support to set up another user account on his machine and try the game on that to see if it runs properly on another user account, might be worth trying.

You could try going to the AC graphics settings and reselecting your resolution there. I sometimes have to do that when my graphics card driver updates, and I know the new Windows 10 update messed with some Nvidia driver settings since all of my custom game configs were deleted. No idea if it will work, but it's worth a shot.

Have previously checked that, thanks anyway. It's weird, because I can see half the track(split in half vertically), sound is fine etc but unable to click out of screen. Only way is ctrl, alt, del.
