I have a similar add for my controllers, and they improve the triggers from finger slip, but the movement of the trigger itself is too small for y liking, i much prefer the triggers on the xbox360...

I have tiny girl hands so the X-Box controller doesn't fit as well for me; also I don't think the analogue sticks are as good. Although this opinion could just be the fact that the Playstation controller is all I've ever used other than a Mega Drive pad since I was a kid.

Yeah I prefer the PS controller over the Xbox, I just wish the trigger's had more travel and perhaps more resistance to them! I too have always been a PlayStation fan, I got drawn to the dark side by a group of mates as they all had Xbox 360's. I shall not be signing back up with Micro$oft again though!

Sony fixed the triggers with the DualShock 4. Much better to press, and they feel better too. Though Chase's girly hands may not like it that much, because it really is bigger that the DS3. DS3 feels like a baby toy in comparison.

But the PS4 controller still might be a good investment, especially if you plan to buy a PS4 later on, the controller is better IMO and it fits my skinny hands perfectly, if its PS button worked on the PS3 i would permanently retire my DS3.

Sorry for my ignorance, but can you use a DS4 on the PS3?

In case anyone was interested I'm not hosting practice tonight - I have a few things to do later on. If anyone gets a chance to throw some hot laps down I'd be interested to know what times people are getting ;).

I doubt I will get a chance to get on line, I spent what time I had last night with the update. So i've not even turned a lap yet on Willow...:nervous:

Intense sessions for Fri/Sat night me thinks!!!

Ok guys, here it is...Not quite what I was hoping to do, but nether mind maybe next time. enjoy 👍

Hello and welcome once again to round 3 of the LCC-Rocket spot race series in Tsukuba, Japan. We have a healthy turn out for race day, albeit as rumoured Team Turbotwin01 were unable to make the journey, along with some other strong competition being absent, one wonders just what mayhem would ensue if a full grid was present on this short flowing track of Tsukuba.

Tsukuba, better know for its Tuner Battles, where street cars tuned to the max by some of the most respected tuning companies around battle it out for the fastest hot lap. Today however we will see an enduring battle for 50 laps as the drivers bring their Rocket's to Japan, for what some expect to be the closest fought race of the season thus far.

Lights out!

As has become synonymous with the LCC-RSR All get away well, with a clean start and short dash to the first corner.

TS_2.jpg

The fight up front

Brandon and chase are immediately on it, with the lead changing hands several times in the opening laps.
Nemesis is just managing to keep up with the pair as they fight for position, but carries too much speed into turn 1 and narrowly misses the back end of Chase's rocket as he turns in for the Apex.

TS_3.jpg

TS_4.jpg

TS_5.jpg
TS_6.jpg
TS_7.jpg

A tense battle for the lead continues for many laps, like a games of chess the two drivers make their moves to get their opponent in Check, but almost every move is countered with another!
Many different lines get explored throughout this battle and is testament to the skill & respect between the two. Equal in skill and ability, but perhaps not so in luck!
A questionable late entry into the pits by Chase on lap 25 not only sends a traffic cone hurtling down the pit lane, but leaves him being penalised for the decision by Race Control! The pit crew are forced to stand down as a drive through penalty is issued...

TS_8.jpg

Midfield

An exciting showdown for third would begin early on in the race between Nemesis, Twisted and slalom. for the first couple of laps Nemesis just manages to hang onto the coat tails of the leaders but was never quite brave or close enough to make anything of the dueling leaders, to hard on the brakes going into T1 See's a near miss for Nemesis, as he narrowly avoids contact with Chase, the lock up means he misses the apex by a country mile allowing twisted to close the gap and now pressure him for position.

TS_11.jpg
TS_12.jpg
TS_13.jpg

Some interesting moves going on further down the field!!!

TS_50.jpg

End of lap 3 and twisted gets incredible speed down the start finish straight, and storms past Nemesis as if he were out for a Sunday drive, this is short lived as to much speed is carried into T1, and its twisted’s turn to invent a new line through the corner! with his intentions made clear, the following lap See's a repeat of the pass on nemesis, only this time allowing adequate braking for a more traditional line through T1.

Some tidy driving for the following laps by Nemesis, keeps him in the toe of twisted, staying in position to maintain pressure to force a mistake is clearly his intention here, as the two are closely matched there is very little chance of a break away.

L8-T1 Nemesis tries to out brake twisted and go around the outside, hoping to keep momentum to out drag and be on the inside of Turn 3, but his attempt fails and the chase continues.
L14 twisted is slowly starting to eek out ahead of Nemesis, coming into the last turn Nemesis is too late to turning in, catching the grass, the loss of traction pulls him wide.
Luckily he glances the tire wall and sustains no damage, but in doing so has lost yet another position and all sight of the aspired third place.

TS_15.jpg
TS_16.jpg
TS_17.jpg

L19, Twisted has closed the gap to the leaders, however to much excitement in his right foot at the sight of the red and yellow Rockets ahead, carries a fast line through Turn 3 and goes wide on the exit, leaving him bouncing across the grass. Leaves the Rocket now scrabbling for grip and with a compromised line for the bridge ahead.

Slalom who has been waiting in the shadows like a ninja, sees his moment and shoots for the inside as they go under the Dunlop bridge. Twisted is eager to keep Slalom behind, holds a defensive line through the fast left, but is asking too much for the soiled tires, loses the back end and faces a head on engagement with the hay bails!!!

TS_19.jpg
TS_20.jpg
TS_21.jpg

Twisted heaves the battered Rocket back onto the track, but but its only a matter of time before a determined Nemesis-Reaper now comes skating past leaving twisted two places down from the spin.

TS_22.jpg

L26, the emergence of Chase from the pits ahead gives slalom a new target to stalk… after a very indecisive line into the last corner, slalom is able to once again capitalise on his prey’s mistake and takes the inside line down the straight.

TS_23.jpg

L27 for Nemesis, and some focused laps has resulted in him catching back up with 4th place. The following lap sees all cars ahead pull off into the pits, giving Nemesis lead of the race. But with his planned pit stop at the end of this lap, the question would be who there to take their positions back! In an amazing turn of events, the answer would be only Brandon!

L38, After catching and passing Nemesis (side by side in the last turn) several laps earlier, Chase carries to much speed into turn 1 and ends up in the kitty litter, Nemesis gets a free pass and a close battle for second spot continues.

TS_35.jpg

Reaper has so far managed a great recovery drive from his early spin, and capitalised on others mistakes to leave him in 2nd place with only 3 laps remaining, however a new threat is now challenging him for the race… his fuel gauge!

Chase has been shadowing him for the last few laps, and the pair have made for some entertaining moves for position, but the fight to stay ahead has taken its toll on the explosive content within! With his focus shifting back and forth he brakes early for the last turn, and Chase is immediately along side, this fight here for second is lost, and survival to finish the race now becomes priority…short shifting now for the final lap to save fuel, is costing too much time, and before he realise's this error Twisted has made up ground in his final attack, once again catching Nemesis down the start/finish straight!

TS_40.jpg

Opportunity turns to disaster as eagerness overcomes judgment and twisted finds his Rocket chewing on sand and pebbles on the outside of T1!

TS_41.jpg

All looks lost again for Twisted as Nemesis drops it back into gear and takes off for the finish line. The sudden uptake in speed however is too much for the starved Rocket, and it finally gives up as Nemesis passes beneath the Dunlop bridge, forcing limp mode to take effect for the long crawl back to the finish line for 4th.

TS_43.jpg

Another consistent Race by Brandon bringing him a Win, with Chase as runner up and Twisted on the third step of the Podium. Well done to all Racers for a very enjoyable, clean and exciting race.

TS_end.jpg

See you all (hopefully) at Willow Springs...

NEWS UPDATE:
Following a post race stewards enquiry;
MC-Chase is issued a $250'000 fine for excessive speed in the pits, dangerous driving, ignoring the boundaries of the pit lane entrance, and is forced to write a formal apology and pay damages incurred to the offended traffic cone...;)

Yet another superb race review Hobbsy, I didn't even notice that 3 car side-by-side move on the replay! Love those graphics for the head of the review too, the rising sun and the Japanese characters, nice touch 👍.

I'll have my formal apology written by Streets Of Willow, and I'll nick a traffic cone from some roadworks going on by my house to act as a replacement for the one I mowed down. the 250 grand fine might have to wait a while though ;).

Wow that's a hefty fine Chase got, it costs more than the car itself.

Was going to ask you and CuthuluGoat about the lag, but I forgot. Now that I remembered again though was it that bad? My connection had been playing up a little that evening (got the line refreshed - shouldn't happen again) but the connection seemed fine for most people? I'm just trying to diagnose as best as possible where the lag came from so if I can make any improvements I will, though my guess is it's PD's end - because it usually is.

It stays good for like 5 seconds then goes x1 drift lag for 5 seconds, rinse repeat.

I didn't notice any lag but I wasn't around other cars very much to notice. I thought I heard some lag during practice but never actually saw it.

I'll probably be online this evening doing some practice and testing, around the normal time. If anyone would like to join feel free to send me an add on PSN. 👍

:tup:the 250 grand fine might have to wait a while though ;).

I just got off the phone after a long discussion with the governing body (FIA), and they are happy to waiver the hefty fine, if you start from the back of the grid at Willow Springs!!! ;)

Alrite fine, but if that's the case they can nick their own damn replacement cones.

Also guys, there's a Mazda Enduro Series starting on Wednesdays looking to fill a grid. I put my name down, figured it might appeal to a couple of people here.

@hobbsy, you should think about putting that in the race reports thread, it's really good!

As far as connection goes, I'll keep trying and I might go and try to find a ethernet cable soon. And hopefully get a new Internet provider... The key word is hopefully.

For what it's worth I use a set of these;

http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-PA411KIT-AV500-Powerline-Adapter/dp/B0084Y9N3O/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1391027085&sr=1-2&keywords=ethernet adapter

that's probably around $40/$50 I imagine and they're pretty good. I certainly think a lot of your connection issues would be solved with an ethernet cable, wireless really is terrible.

And that's a very good point about the race reports, have you considered that Hobbsy? I feel like they deserve a bit more exposure than they get here.

@MC-Chase & @Turbotwin01 re: the Race Reports, thats not a bad Idea. I shall look into it! Thanks guys.

Re: the Mazda Series, not looked at the link yet, but if it starts at 19:00 GMT, then thats no good for me. :(

On a side note, and while I have your attention! I'm looking at starting my own series/cup races soon, based around 450pp Stock street cars. Once I have more details, I will open a new thread and give anyone thats interested a heads up.;)

I'll be doing everything I can to be involved in these. Was part of a lapse group of individuals that used to run the 'nurb in GT5 on comfort softs with cars from 400-450PP (in 10PP increments) and it was immense fun!

Anyway i can get in on the LCC races?

Absolutely 👍.

Welcome to the series! Next race is at Streets of Willow - Brandon's probably got a test room open as we speak so feel free to drop him a PSN request. Hopefully all you need to know about the series is in the OP, but if not just drop a question here. We're not big on rules and procedure (at least I'm not!), we don't tend to need them because everyone here is very fair.

Hey guys,

Just had my first 20 minutes at Streets Of Willow (other than a few testers laps with Brandon and Naptown). I'm getting about 1.15's at the moment though I think I'm getting very little out the car, and don't expect to be near the front this weekend. In this regard I'm setting race laps to 38, based on a 1.15 lap that's about 47/48 minutes of racing - likely a little less than Tsukuba ultimately as I'm sure lap times are going to improve; if you feel this is too long/short give me a shout.

The track itself has very little traction, I think we're all going to get a lot better with throttle control after this weeks over :P - I'm taking a short shift from 2nd to 3rd on 3 occasions a lap here! Similarly places to pass aren't seemingly obvious to me at the moment so qually might be more important than is usual. Other things to note include the barren landscape, if (like me) you use signs/trees/kerbs/etc to plan your braking points then find another method because that isn't going to work here what with sand looking the same and all.

Final note from me is ABS guys, a reminder that *I'm told* the brake balance glitch for online play has been fixed so we can adjust brake balance as we see fit. I'm currently running a bias of 4 front/ 6 back with no ABS and it's fantastic, no chance I'll be going back to ABS on now.

That's about it, catch you on track soon hopefully!

EDIT: Dropping laps to 36 based on online lap-times.
