I might give no abs a try, but do you use the sticks or the triggers?

Using triggers with it at the moment, I think I could set the brakes a little higher, maybe a 5/7 and get better times at the expense of consistency. With 4/6 however I'm only locking up if I miss my braking point into turn 1, and the slight rear-bias really helps kill that corner entry understeer I'm sure we're all abundantly familiar with by now.

1:15.... are you freak'n kidding!!! Myself and Brandon found ourselves online tonight and 1:16.7 was my best, however I do believe Brandon found the high 1:15's, but i'm sure he secretly has lots left in the tank!!! ;)

Passing's gonna be a challenge then, looks like you'll have your work cut out Sunday Chase...:D

one serious question though, are we racing into the night at Willow...? cos its scary dark at that circuit!

Should have mentioned I set my times offline, so that will translate to somewhere roughly in the 16's online I imagine. Though I did just set a low 14 offline so who knows. I wasn't planning to run into darkness to be honest, unless anyone particularly wants to :boggled:? Weather I'll probably leave off too, Brandon tells me you only get fog with it on and who the hell wants that?! Still after a good rain race, shame we only got it at Brands-Hatch - I can assure you it was truly epic!

Meh at the overtaking to be honest ... I took a few different lines with a ghost replay to see what lines i had available that would yield good times and I think I've carved out two good places to pass now, though I sure ain't sharing them yet :sly:.

For anyone thats around, I shall be online tonight around 9:30pm (GMT) so anyone that Fancy's turning some practise laps at Streets of Willow, keep an eye open and feel free to join in :D.... Unless of course, a room is already open!

Laters, Hobbsy

Might be on later!

EDIT: Will be but later, later - like 10:30/11, this any good?

I'd recommend everyone bring their sunscreen and sandals because I think there will be a lot of beach holidays during the race. During practice I was going off track about every third lap, so many blind and/or narrow turns here. Bring an extra bag of patience too because there might be a bunch of unintentional incidents where the track bottlenecks or disappears. Should be challenging for sure.

I might be around for the practice this evening, not sure. Will try though!

Just did this in practice, online. I couldn't break the :16's forever and then I found some time in the left hander before the banked right hairpin.

EDIT: Don't be concerned though, I just remembered I'm going to a Super Bowl party so I won't be able to attend tomorrow's race.

Pthh, not healthy to ever turn down a party for a video game :P. Have one for me Brandon, looks like I'll have to wait until Trial Mountain to get my revenge and return us to two victories a piece ;).

I just logged on guys, Hobbsy has a friends only room up - I'm sure he won't mind if you send him a friend request if you want to join us.

Enjoy the rugby...;)

I couldn't get into the practice at all because I kept timing out :irked:, and I wasn't able to get any ethernet cables or anything due to the terrible whether I'm having (my county called state of emergency). That and my schedule will most likely be packed with lots homework for me (history, math, and english ) Sorry but I think I'll have to leave you guys :(:guilty:

We saw you try to connect once I think, no worries mate. If you get your connection sorted then you know where we're at.

I'm gonna pass on this week, not a fan of Streets of Willow... AT ALL.

Got to admit it ain't my favorite! Might catch you next week, it's Trial-Mountain ... I think :boggled:, better go check the OP...

EDIT: Yeah it's Trial-Mountain 👍

anybody practicing right now?

I think we're long gone sorry!

I'll come even though i absolutely loathe Streets of Willow, but you guys can make any race interesting

Thanks Brutaka  , we do have an exceptionally good field of regulars here (yourself included of course!). I don't think Willow is anyones favorite - we don't have a lot of tracks we can use though, so Willow helps fill the calendar, perhaps next time we'll give it miss though.

It might turn out ok, just a tricky track and I'm sure everyone will learn something. I think the FIA will make a small fortune in cone destruction fines though. :sly:

In terms of driving - I actually quite like it! Because it's very challenging to get a good time out of it; unlike Tuskuba where you can easily be consistent to a tenth Willow is nothing like that. I'm in agreement with the general opinion about it as a racing track though, and I don't like the lack of visual aids to help plan your breaking points.

EDIT: Also why aren't you drunk yet Brandon?

Ive actually become quite fond of Willow Springs...! At first, i thought of it as a bland, flat boring track. But PD have done a great job with the lighting and time change (get some great photos). Its (streets of...) really challanging to get the best out of it, and i think it could be very entertaining for actual racing, as i really dont know how many places there will be to pass here, cleanly if course!

From my POV, start/finish line, first corner and banked corner at the back are passing positions.

I think first corner will be a tricky one, if your up against someone who is fast you would have to be quite brave to make it stick... and not end up digging for sand castles!
